Mitt Romney "explained that he uses a secret Twitter account—'What do they call me, a lurker?'—to keep tabs on the political conversation."

"'I won’t give you the name of it,' he said, but 'I’m following 668 people.' Swiping at his tablet, he recited some of the accounts he follows, including journalists, late-night comedians ('What’s his name, the big redhead from Boston?'), and athletes. Trump was not among them. 'He tweets so much,' Romney said, comparing the president to one of his nieces who overshares on Instagram. 'I love her, but it’s like, Ah, it’s too much.'"

From "This Sure Looks Like Mitt Romney’s Secret Twitter Account (Update: It Is)/Meet 'Pierre Delecto.'"

This strikes me as totally normal — having a Twitter account so you can follow people but not wanting you real name to be seen. He only had 8 followers and only tweeted 10 times (each time replying to somebody). It's nothing.

Maybe just funny that he picked the named Pierre Delecto. "Delecto" is the Latin word for "delight." Don't mix it up with "delicto" which means an act of wrongdoing, as in "in flagrante delicto" — which means, literally, "a flaming offense." The Wikipedia article for "in flagrante delicto" says "See also: Smoking gun."

And it's funny that he couldn't think of the name of Conan O'Brien.

Normal? For a former Presidential Nominee, Governor, and current Senator. Seems kind of cowardly actually. Especially anonymously defending yourself from criticism.

Makes you wonder what other creepy secrets Mr. Romney is hiding...

See Psalms 102 for why Romney chose the name. You need to read other bloggers/articles on this. They've done an analysis of "Pieere Delectos" re-tweets replies and likes and found that Romney has been up-voting Trump-hating lefty journalists, Evan McMuffin, and posts defending Mitt Romney.

It just confirms what everyone already knew ( aka "Everyone" with a brain in their heads) that Mittens is a lying, backstabbing, jealous character without a conservative bone in his body. Never in any of "Pierre Delecto" tweets/likes is there approval of a conservative/Republican attacking the D's or liberals. Its all the other way round. If you wondered why Trump "out of the blue" started attacking Mittens, its because he got advance word that Romney was about to come out of the closet as a member of "The resistance".

This info puts Romney's job interview of Sec of state in a new light. Mittens putting in for the secretary of state job, wasn't Romney swallowing his pride for the good of the country - it was Mittens trying to get a job where he could sabotage Trump and help "the Resistance" Mueller, Comey, Rosenstein, etc FROM THE INSIDE.

First paragraph of the article...

Earlier today, the Atlantic’s McKay Coppins published a lengthy profile on Mitt Romney, apparently part of Romney’s effort to set himself up as the noble Republican foil to an out-of-control president. These sorts of pieces, which are more about narrative setting than anything else, typically don’t contain a lot of new information, but this had one notable exception. About midway through, the usually guarded senator revealed that, just like fellow lone-voice-of reason-haver James Comey, he was the owner of a secret Twitter account.

"Nailed it."

I checked the account last night, it is now blocked/protected, so I don't know what he was writing on it- does anyone?

Interesting about the Latin, though- there is also pari delicto which means equal in fault, another legal term. I think he was playing off of this in choosing the pseudonym.

I've been saying it since Romney announced his run for Senate: Romney only took the step to run for Senate in anticipation that he would be the very person who would lead a Senate Republican revolt against Trump and demand Trump step down, thus cementing the forgettable Romney in the annals of History.

Romney is 100% a willing and knowing part of the democrat resistance designed to overturn the results of the 2016 election. He's no different than Brennan or Clapper or Comey or Yates or the entire obama administration.

Mitt's gonna need a new secret twitter handle.
I humbly suggest Antonio Wankeroni or Gunter Handenschortz or Pud Knockerson.
These names capture the essence of the new, Trump-era Mitt Romney while continuing the stylish continental flair he seems to favor.

readering: "Drago hope you're right."

I am right.

The problem for Romney, whose son (surprise surprise!!) has a relationship with Ukrainian energy interests (hmmmmmmmm), is that he expected the Russia Hoax lies that you and your pals were pushing would work.

But it didn't.

Romney was hoping that the hoax dossier lies that you and your pals were pushing would work.

But it didn't.

Romney was also hoping that the hoax Ukrainian lies that you and your pals were pushing would work.

But they are not.

And now the dem lies about Trump's actions regarding Syria are collapsing by the hours.

And will continue to do so.

So Romney finds himself suddenly on an island and he is definitely feeling the heat. Romney has committed himself to a course of action based on beliefs that have been demolished by reality.

Just like the democrats.

And it couldn't have happened to a "better" crew of morons.

LOL

Yancey Ward said...

Wow, if the stories about him upvoting leftist journalists and tweets supporting Romney himself are true, then Romney really is a complete douchebag. No Republican is going to follow such a person in an impeachment of Trump- you might as well declare yourself a Democrat before the next election.

Latin can be a delight. One of my favorite lines from the old Latin mass is "Per evangelica dicta, deleantur nostra delicta".

Drago said...

readering: "Mitt not realizing he would be outed is most Mitt ever."

When you're right, you're right.

In Mitt's defense, he is gullible enough to have bought into the hoax collusion/hoax dossier claims. All else flows from that.

If ever there was a "republican" who would look at the lefty/deep state hacks aligned with dems Brennan, Clapper and Comey, and then believe everything they told him, it's Mitt.

So I'll give him that.

However, by now he knows perfectly well what a setup hack job it all was from the very beginning. So his motivation now has to be simply a bruised ego for Trump running over him during the transition and his deep state protective instincts, even if it means working to help far left democrats gain power.

Trump's reelection is going to sting him even more than others.

There is one last ultimate stab in the back move Romney could pull: if, in late Nov of 2020, the republicans have a bare majority in the Senate, I fully, FULLY, expect Romney to switch parties knowing that he will never run for re-election again.

The ultimate homage Romney can pay to the establishment prior to returning to them.

In Jan 2019, I would've disagreed. In October 2019, I agree completely. LIke McCain and his involvement in the Steele Dossier, and Bush-II's attacks on Trump (after 8 years of silence under Obama) - Mittens is even worse then I imagined. All three are globalists and Establishment members first, and Republicans second.

Its so typical of McCain that he would stab Trump in the back with a phony Steele dossier and then defend himself with fake Self-Righteous fury while Mittens -ever the backstabbing fake - creates a fake twitter account to defend himself and attack Trump.

Just when you thought McCain was finally buried, along comes Mitt.

There is nothing 'normal' about this.
