Another invisible sunrise.

fullsizeoutput_33ff

The view east, above, seems less sunrise-y than the view north:

Fitting music heard: "My eyes are listening to some sounds that I think just might be springtime/With daffodils between my toes I'm laughing at their whim..."

Also fitting, it's going to snow tonight.

Nice! It's all smokey in the Bay Area from these darn fires. We could use a nice rain.

In the northern hemisphere the sun rises in the northeast and sets in the northwest in the fall and winter months with the most northerly rise happening on the winter solstice. It's what makes it the shortest day of the year.

That's not what I am observing. The sunrise is moving noticeably to the right in my photographs, and that direction is south.

I usually am up by 4:30 or 5:00, when it is pitch black. I don’t go outside then and I highly admire you for doing that. What I do love to do is make sure that every light in the house except for the faint glow of my screen is turned off so that I can detect the second that the tiniest of dark gray begins to pervade the interior of the house.

That describes what happens in the Southern Hemisphere.

Who said this, Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren?

“I want to get rid of all of America’s problems, so I can replace them with worse ones!”

Or was it Bart Simpson?

Democrats are going to try to put the ball in play. They must think they have the votes.

Still not the real deal.

They are going to hold a vote on when to schedule a vote about considering a vote on impeachment.

Yes, the sunsets should be moving further south until ~12/21. You'll notice the biggest southerly moves now, slowing down as we approach the winter solstice.

Hagar said...

If you were at the arctic circle, you would just see the sun directly south for a moment at noon.

Oops. ... at the winter solstice Dec. 21.

I'm reading Hate Inc by Matt Taibbi. Or trying to. It's just a screed, a polemic that purports to be even handed. But he just can't resist name-calling and cheap shots at Trump and the deplorables.

He really is in that little reporter bubble and knows little of how people live. Like those cigar chomping hacks in the Front Page.

Really disappointed. Yet I read Fear, and American Carnage, and other anti Trump books.

Sandman v Wash Post back in business.

Hmmm.

That was a long time for a Motion for Reconsideration. Way different that our practice in NJ.
