I know it's shorter than her prior style, but it isn't short enough or different enough to make a noticeable change in her appearance. IMHO.

Right. Like anyone who has actually dealt with Ivanka Trump hasn't taken her seriously?

I could tell the first time I saw her on Trump's show that she was the Heir Apparent, the Force to Be Reckoned With. I even remember feeling some sympathy for Trump Jr because it was clear he would not be able to match her.

What happens to the hair that is cut off famous people? Is there a procedure followed by upscale salons to guarantee it doesn't wind up for sale on the internet or woven into a voodoo doll or defiled by perverts on video or something?

As a kid I loved women with long hair, and hated men who had long hair (the hippies). Hey, don't blame me, blame my DNA.

She's a lovely lady, but prefer the old look.

Ivanka didn't just get a new haircut.

She got a spectacular new green dress for her visit to Brazil. But I'm not sure if the dress is actually some kind of giant carnivorous plant. Brazilian authorities seemed unconcerned. Twitter users were beside themselves with gleeful humor.

It looks much better, IMO. Long hair, unless it's worn up, tends to look a bit sloppy for a professional appearance.

Fresh off his attacks on the Alabama National Guard while his boy Biden continues to demonstrate advanced senility daily and his preferred republican candidate racist deadbeat dad Joe Walsh collapses completely, LLR Chuck figures now would be a good time to pile on the very attractive and successful Ivanka.

Well, the mere idea of criticizing dems for any reasons is likely to make LLR Chuck break out in hives....

How Democrats treat Republican Women:

"She is immediately smeared by Democratic operatives and in the press. She is a political “hack,” a “Stalinist,” a “commissar”; she is a vamp, a lackey. The Washington Post, a great newspaper, publishes this description of Mrs. Harris: “Her lips were overdrawn with berry-red lipstick—the creamy sort that smears all over a coffee cup and leaves smudges on a shirt collar. Her skin had been plastered and powdered to the texture of pre-war walls in need of a skim coat. And her eyes, rimmed in liner and frosted with blue shadow, bore the telltale homogeneous spikes of false eyelashes. Caterpillars seemed to rise and fall with every bat of her eyelid, with every downward glance to double check—before reading—her latest ‘determination.’ ” Her mouth is “set in a jagged line.” She has “applied her makeup with a trowel.” “One wonders how this Republican woman, who can’t even use restraint when she’s wielding a mascara wand, will manage to . . . make sound decisions.”

- Noonan, The Greenwood Position

I don't think hairstyle changes are frivolous news, by the way. First of all, looking presentable means a lot to most people, and appearance means a great deal to women. You can dislike that, but a lot of women are shallow, and until their franchise is repealed fashion is going to play an outsize role in politics. Secondly, it's a great revelation as to how petty and enraged older women can be when confronted with an obviously prettier and more competent model. Melania and Ivanka Trump are the most notable examples of this, but arguably Marine LePen also shares the burden. Thirdly, it's a LOT more reasonable to study than the newest goddamn TV thinkpiece shared by the Juiceboxers.

Bad link, Chuck.

However, re the dress the photo you are referencing was taken when she had been blasted by a gust of wind. The dress is make with butterfly type sleeves and a peplum. Both of which got caught in the wind and make her look silly. Dress in the wind

The dress is shown without the windblown effect lower in the article.

Of course the media would print and make a big deal about the photo that makes her look ridiculous.

Same thing with the photo of her new hair style. She is in the wind, so how can we even tell what her hair actually looks like.

It might look nice or not. Until we see a better photo...I have no opinion on her hair.

Update. I actually scrolled to the end of the MSN article and saw her hair.

I don't like it. It is too stark. Too blunt. The layered bob she had is just as professional and gives her hair some lift and softness around the face.

Ivanka has very thin and lank looking hair. A severe cut with no lift only emphasizes the thin texture of her hair.

I see these movies from the 30s-40s where most of the women have short hair. And it is incredible that an there is an entire generation of women that are not all that attractive.

Later, when the hair started getting longer, the women suddenly became more attractive.

Except in film noir, where many of the women in the 30s-40s had longer hair. And were attractive. Except that they were also very dangerous.

“Most of the women at my place of employment make the switch to shorter hair in their mid-30's. Some do it in several steps, others seemingly overnight. The ones with long hair almost always have it pulled back at work, especially when meeting, as we often do, with customers and prospects”

Long hair on a woman in many societies is a sexual lure. In many, they cut it off, or bind it up, when they marry. The problem in our society is that sexual attractiveness is female power, and a lot of women in our society try desperately to delay that loss of power as long as they can. That means looking as much like a young, fecund, unmarried woman as long as they can. But that power through female sexual atractiveness and availability is a doubled edged sword. It works by triggering male mating reflexes. But that means that the women are viewed more as a potential mating partner (a sex object) than as a peer.

Part of a woman cutting her hair shorter than the other women around her is her saying that she isn’t competing with them for male attention. And that means that she intends to compete on her own merits, instead of by how well she can trigger male mating reflexes. And, so her hair doesn’t have to be that much shorter, just that it is noticeably shorter than the hair of women who chose to wear it long.

I should add that my partner, in her early 60s now has almost never worn her hair short, except when there has been some medical need. But, she has never worked in a job where her intelligence was an important factor in her success. Her creativity yes (interior design). And her looks (modeling). But never her brains. Contrast that with my ex who get a Mommie Cut almost 30 years ago, and has worn it shortish ever since then. But her success has always depended on her competence, and not her looks. The women who went to college with my kid, as they eat serious jobs in their latter 20s, all of the ones in professional jobs seem to be getting Ivanka cuts, with the ones wearing their hair long being either stay at home moms or in non professional positions.

In a room full of pretty women, she wouldn't be the prettiest, but she's the one you would look at. The Pence kid, the one who wrote about her dog dying, is very appealing. One of the many trades one can make for an adjustment to the Second Amendment.

That, for instance, Congress can only meet, while entirely naked, on a designated open field in North Dakota, for a week in January.

And that the Federal Government cannot employ more than, say, 20 people in all its departments. All of whom must work naked. All other bureaucratic employment being reserved for the States.

Get creative!

But she deserved it. Maybe a decade or so ago, she and my kid cut and spiked my hair, and gashed one of my eyebrows, because they were laughing so hard.
