"But there’s nothing now — we can’t do anything, we’re helpless. Business has completely ended. Whoever comes just looks at the flies."

Said Muhammad Ismail Siddiqui, a vendor of traditional sweets, quoted in "A Plague of Flies Descends on Karachi: 'They’re Hounding People'" (NYT).

"There are huge swarms of flies and mosquitoes. It’s not just affecting the life of the common man — they’re so scary, they’re hounding people. You can’t walk straight on the road, there are so many flies everywhere... As a community, we also need to blame ourselves. We have collected these heaps of garbage" said Dr. Seemin Jamali, the executive director for the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, noting the remains of sacrificial animals dumped in the streets.

Can't imagine what that has to with anything ;)

What a horrible thing to live with.

Moses strikes again! Will we see the frogs next, eating the flies?

Okay to call it a "shithole country"?

Flamethrower.

It's the only sensible solution.

Though used literally, this could also be used metaphorically.

And, you know, you might consider not dumping the remains of animal sacrifice in the streets...

Look, nothing against sacrificial animals, right? After all, I'm a Christian, and hey, the Old Testament and all worked for a few thousand years on sacrificing animals.

But as I recall, the Jews sacrificed their animals on an altar, in a central location, and for the most part it was a burnt offering...i.e. cooking the meat. Then, most of the time the priests ate the meat. And given all the Law of Moses sanctions against uncleanliness, I'm pretty sure they disposed of the remains properly, or at least tried to.

Why can't Islamists at least take some care or thought for proper hygiene? It's not that hard!

I mean, it's only been what, 3000 years since Moses came down with "This is how to not kill yourself with unsanitary practices" from the Mount. Surely 3000 years is enough time for it to dissipate throughout the world?

Especially since, you know, Islam claims that Moses is one of their prophets? Shouldn't they at least listen to him?

Why would you dump the remains of the animal in the street? I've never participated in the large beast sacrifice (太牢), but for ordinary jesa (祭祀) you usually just eat the food afterwards.

Also, who's doing the sacrifices? I didn't think Islam had animal sacrifices?

I have seen many videos of these sacrifices in these countries- they are done right out in the open. I have seen several of these, and none of them appear to take cleanliness or hygiene into consideration- I mean, these are open areas of the urban environment, not slaughterhouses. It would the same as me killing, draining, gutting, and skinning a deer on Main Street and then walking away with the butchered meat. I have seen several of these on Reddit as a subgenre of TheBullWins- occasionally the one doing the sacrifice gets kicked, bitten, or even killed in the act.

If my Mom saw those animals dumped in the street she would say don't throw that away, there are starving kids in India. We always had meat on the table at home.

Indeed, they burned the offal outside the city.

Yes, animal slaughter [not sacrifice] is going on in Walmart parking lots and other places. Is this where we want our country to go?

These are probably infidel beheadings, not animal sacrifices and the infidels don't always cooperate, so it sometimes gets a little messy.

When you import masses of people from other cultures, they bring their culture with them. Sometimes it works out well, as many cultures will want to learn and blend into the American culture, while spreading the best of their own, making our culture that much richer. Sometimes, it does not work out well, as other cultures despise ours, and choose to live in our land, but apart from us. So they come to live here to literally create the same way of life they left in their country of origin. Nothing learned. No assimilation. No melting pot. Just another tribe moving in with no intention of respecting the people who opened their arms to them.

There's good immigration and bad immigration and that's why it needs to be controlled and to have standards. To say all immigration is good and is the American way is just stupid. No country can exist without controls on immigration.

LA is a great example of bad immigration meeting up with Liberal policies. It's the recipe for turning your country into the 3rd world.

That's Eid al-Adha. It began on Aug. 12 this year. It's about Abraham and the goat Allah sent him to replace his kid on the sacrificial altar. Happens every year.

"But, your excellency, if the legions should go at once, we should have the wild Scots at York, and the Northmen in the Thames within the month. We can build ourselves up under your shield, and in a few years it would be easier for us; but not now, your excellency, not now."

"Tut, man; for years you have been clamouring in our ears and raising the people. Now you have got what you asked. What more would you have? Within the month you will be as free as were your ancestors before Caesar set foot upon your shore."

"But there’s nothing now — we can’t do anything, we’re helpless."

My namesake will be there to witness, he's supposed to eat the Sun or something. I wonder if he will be allowed to bring popcorn?...

The only place sacrifice was permitted was at the temple in Jerusalem. Ritual sacrifice anywhere else was seriously frowned upon (and likely considered useless).
