The Clintons kick off their national speaking tour, and the NY Post writer thinks it reenacted "why Hillary lost: Over-promise, under-deliver, avoid accountability, and expect the masses to nonetheless be satisfied."

Maureen Callahan says she spent $210 for a balcony seat and got "90 minutes of longtime Clinton lackey Paul Begala launching such softballs" at the Clintons:
Is the two-state solution dead?
What is happening to American politics?
How did it feel to watch the bin Laden raid?
Why are the Dems losing rural voters?
How did you raise such an amazing daughter?

I wish I were exaggerating. The only current event touched upon was that day’s arrest of Julian Assange — astonishing given the surfeit of recent headlines really worth discussing: Jussie Smollett, race relations and hate crimes; the one-percenters caught up in the college admissions scandal; the push to federally legalize marijuana and reform the criminal justice system; the role of Silicon Valley in curbing, if not eliminating, foreign governments hacking our elections [ahem]; Elizabeth Warren’s call to break up Amazon, Google and Facebook — to say nothing of the 20 or so declared Dem candidates for president....  Oh, and #MeToo.
The best part for Callahan was when a guy in the front row stood up and yelled "Bill, this is boring!" and "Why don’t you talk about... Jeffrey Epstein!"

Oh yeah. Without a doubt. Russia, formerly the favorite re-set button flexibility partner of Obama-Hillary administration, Hacked and stole the election FROM Hillary. After a long bogus Mueller-Maddow witch hunt, it's not actually true. But, we keep our false narratives in leftwing wish-fact lala land.

Who in their right mind wants to hear Hillary's views on Jussie Smollett? The same person who spends that amount for a balcony seat to see someone who, just three years ago was begging people to attend her campaign rallies for free.

LOLOLOL! I was going to comment on the article but then I saw Hillary's outfit.

She's gone from oven mitt elegance to trash bag chic.

This is not the beginning of the tour. It began last fall, and then they stopped. Maureen Dowd wrote about the snooze fest in Vancouver BC.
This is a continuation. The never ending continuation of Clinton machine.

It baffles me why anyone would willingly BUY a ticket. (other than the obvious heckler possibilities - lol)

You spent $210 to listen to Billary yap about stuff? Bahahaahahahaaaaaaa!

Bill, this is boring!

Are they going for the Althouse vote in 2020?

Hillary-wear. It looks like a mix between something attempting to be cool (the blue leather) and a hospital gown. (or a shower curtain)

which TV show most resembles politics, “The West Wing” or “Veep” — Hillary said “Game of Thrones

That explains so much. She thinks she's Cersei.

Bill and Hillary are scientists.
They are systematically testing whether fools and their money will soon be parted.
Expect them to publish the results in a law review.

Bay Area Guy said...

Juanita Broaddrick should make a guest appearance to spice up the show.

Granted, I'm no fashion icon unless you like shorts an t-shirts, but I will never understand both Michelle Obama's weirdly placed waistlines and Hilary's box look. Doesn't anyone have the stones to tell them that those are not flattering looks?

Okay, now I'll read the article. Pardon any pettiness.

No!

What is happening to American politics?
It's getting funnier.

How did it feel to watch the bin Laden raid?
Comfy chair.

Why are the Dems losing rural voters?
Carelessness.

How did you raise such an amazing daughter?
Webb Hubbell.

The Clintons really need to just shut up and stay home. Who do they think their audience is?

Tommy Duncan said...

The firebox on my propane furnace has a lining that looks like Hillary's outfit. It looks better on my furnace.

Fernandinande said...

Who do they think their audience is?

People who do not know how to correctly spend $210.

Fernandinande said...

I had $210 once, but I spent most of it on whisky, women and cocaine. The rest I just wasted.

Big Mike said...

I loved the opening sentence:

“Now that they’ve been dismissed, defanged and declawed by their own party, Bill and Hillary Clinton are doing what comes naturally: Hitting people up for money.”

Says it all.

The last time I saw an outfit like the one on Hillary was in "Mash" as they drove Robert Duvall away.

Except the arms were fastened to the front.

Lucien said...

How about a rule to always refer to him as "Accused Rapist Bill Clinton"? (And his wife, the "Extremely Careless" (or, maybe, Sniper Survivor) Hillary Clinton)

john burger said...

I don't get the blue and white leather coat. Please explain.

Birkel said...

Credibly accuses rapist Bill Clinton if we prefer accuracy.

If Fernandistein managed women, whiskey, and cocaine on less than $210 then he must be very old or he is shopping outside the United States. Either way, congratulations!

Saving America from that, that... whatever it is that has ridden on Bill Clinton's coattails like a cancerous growth... makes Donald Trump the greatest POTUS since Lincoln.

I went back to look Chris Kattan's impression of Paul Begala on SNL.

He was always opposite Darrell Hamnond as Chris Matthews on Hardball.

It's amazing to see how much funnier SNL's politcal stuff was back when it was based on actual humor not so long ago.

I was gonna make a comment on grifters grifting, and rubes being rubes at the rigged carny games, but the comments above pretty much covered the details of that thought. I will just add that paying to watch a geek bite the head off a live chicken is of interest only to those who really want to do the same, but are prevented from giving such performances by their more sensible family and friends. Behold the Clintons and their sycophants. There but for the grace of a merciful God, go you.

More hard-hitting questions can be expected for the rest of the tour: the next moderator is Ben Stiller.

Stiller followed by: "...former Philadelphia Eagle turned actor Nnamdi Asomugha in Philadelphia, attorney, advocate and media personality Star Jones in Wallingford, comedian Jordan Klepper in Washington DC and actor Tony Goldwyn will wrap up the April dates in Boston."

Anyone have any data on the crowd size?

The paltry crowd size at the start of the tour - back in 2018, made for some embarrassing images.

I'm not seeing any photos or MSM interest. Must be small.

Dear corrupt left, go F yourselves said...

This tour was supposed to be the re-launch of the '3rd times a charm' campaign.
Hillary is a firebrand!

MayBee said...

The moderator in this part of Michigan is Ben Stiller, who seems to be an odd choice. They have really been pushing tickets lately, so it obviously isn't/wasn't sold out. In the old days, some union would have bought up all the tickets.

MayBee said...

Oh ok. It was last night. Here's how ClickOnDetroit reports it:

DETROIT - Bill and Hillary Clinton brought their talking tour to the Fox Theatre on Friday night.

Detroit is one of the 13 cities they're visiting. The interview wasn't hard questions; it wasn't a debate.

It was a little over an hour of hearing the Clintons talk about things ranging from Julian Assange to what TV show they're bingeing.

The venue wasn't sold out and tickets were still available, but the crowd gave the couple an enthusiastic welcome.

MayBee said...

MLive has this a report as well (the Clintons said there must be civility. She apparently was not asked about accusing Trump of being Putin's puppet)
But this stood out to me:
Stiller opened with some light-hearted banter with the political icons by asking what TV shows they’re the “binging” right now. Hillary didn’t name anything specifically but admits she does binge watch TV. Bill on the other hand singled out “The Blacklist” and “Madame Secretary” as current favorites.

Hilarious! Hillary admits she does binge watch tv! Because she's human and that's what humans do, she supposes. But can she name a show? No!!! It's like last time around when she was asked how she handled hard times she said she "drank wine" and "talked with girlfriends". Such weird generic answers, just like a real person would make.

rcocean said...

If you'd told me in Feb 2001, after Clinton had been impeached and 8 years of scandal and ethical problems - including the disgusting Marc Rich Pardon, that Hillary would almost win POTUS election in 2016, and Bill and Hillary would be treated like nothing untoward ever happened, I wouldn't have believed it.

No matter how corrupt and incompetent they are, the Liberals and the power elite loves them.

rcocean said...

Hillary has zero appeal as a Politician. If she were a Republcian, you'd never have heard of her. Nelson Rockefeller said the biggest mistake of his political career was not Becoming a Democrat. "You can't buy off the Republicans" he said, "But the Democrats..."

This is truly sad. The Clintons could be on tour discussing relevant political matters to wider audiences. But the steep ticket price tells me it's just another money grubbing fundraiser and/or the beginnings of yet another campaign. Such a waste of potential.

I read the other day that of the $100 million that the Clintons have “earned” since Bill left office, half was collected in the 4 years that she was SoS. Somebody should ask her how she did that without violating the “emoluments clause."

Emolument creams eased the butthurt.

(you have to follow the link and see the photo to understand this comment) How sexist is that that Bill can wear just a normal dress suit shirt and tie and look perfectly fine, whereas Hillary has to wear some kind of leatherish choir robe that just makes her look really stupid. Where is Robin Given when you need her?

Nichevo said...

H,

First, WJC is weight-appropriate to height, whereas imagine if you dare what HRC's naked body looks like, and what kind of sack you have to put that in to contain it.

Second, who knows what kind of medical wizardry accompanies her every step? I dare say both of them could quit flattering themselves that they need to wear body armor, but there still might be IVs, portable defibrillators, colostomy bags, going on under there.
