"That is so objectionable. That is so offensive. And- and- and this is what I mean about moral vandalism in our country that's going on..."

"... from the highest offices stoking hatred, stoking fears, pitting people against each other," said Cory Booker — quoted in "Presidential candidate Cory Booker calls Trump's 9/11 tweet 'vicious, crass, disgusting'" ("Face the Nation").

Here's the Donald Trump tweet in question:

President Trump gave the weekend 3rd team cable talking heads some playing time with this bit of fodder.
Its plain that 'some people, doing somethings' is an insult to those victims and their loved ones. Including anyone that honors our Nation.

Someone needs to put together all the stuff Democrats have had to take a position to defend. MS13, Islamists terrorists, Illegals comitting crimes.
I mean really, defaming ICE, while honoring illegals. President Trump is a master at pushing them to the logical conclusions of their positions.

Can the Legal Eagles here explain why its against the law to ship these illegals to sanctuary cities. They have self identified as wanting these people.

For context:

"Far too long we have lived with the discomfort of being a 2nd class citizen and I'm tired of it. And every single Muslim in this country should be tired of it.
Cair was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something and all of us are starting to lose access to our civil liberties.
So you can't just say that today someone is looking at me strange, that I am going to try and make myself look pleasant. You have to say, this person is looking at me strange, I am not comfortable with it, I am going to go talk to them and ask them why. Because that is a right you have."

mccullough said...

CAIR was founded in 1994.

That was before 9/11.

It was after the original World Trade Center bombing in February 1993 when the radicals from the New Jersey Mosque killed 8 people during the bombing.

Maybe those are the some people who did something Omar is talking about.

The Gipper Lives said...

Rep. Ilhan Omar, D.-Somalia: “CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties.”

Omar is not just morally wrong, but as Don Surber caught, she is even factually wrong also.

CAIR was not founded “after 9/11”. It was founded by Hamas groupies after the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993. Some of them were even involved with the bombing and all of them have said their goal is to impose Sharia Law on second-class Americans.

As Jonathan S. Tobin noted, the old Mythical Muslim Backlash is “now being weaponized again to portray an unapologetic anti-Semite like Omar as a victim.”

But she’s right about one thing: There was indeed spying on the community and massive governmental violations of the law so that “all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties.”

That community was Donald Trump, his campaign, his administration and the Americans who elected him. It will come as a shock to these Islamic and Social Justice Supremacists, but--brace yourself here--OTHER PEOPLE ALSO POSSESS CIVIL RIGHTS! Not just you and your freaky friends. These phony FISA warrants and all the rest are Civil Rights violations of the highest order.

Donald Trump and the people who support him are entitled to "Social Justice", too.

You don’t CAIR, lady–but we do.

The part of Omar's comment that has gotten all the attention was actually more of the boring same.
If she had changed one word, her comment would have sounded like a million comments we've heard from the Washington establishment, from Bush 43 on down, since 9/11.

"some Muslims did something and all of us are starting to lose access to our civil liberties."

Since English is her second language, I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt that her intention was not to minimize the 9/11 attacks.
But the fact that we have heard the same sentiments, from so many of our leaders, for so long, gives the lie to her claim that Muslims are considered second class citizens in this country. They aren't.
Also, if you look at her full statement there, her actual intention is hardly admirable. In my opinion, she is encouraging angry confrontations based on nothing but the interpretation of a stranger's facial expression. She's basically fomenting fear, suspicion and division to benefit herself politically. In other words, she's following what has become Democrat SOP.

Ihlan Omar proves that you can get the Islamist cunt out of Mogadishu, you just can't get Mogadishu out of the Islamist cunt. I imagine Ihlan Omar's family gathers together to watch "Black Hawk Down" the same way my family gathers to watch " It's a Wonderful Life" at Christmas.

"I never suggested that being a quasi-criminal will get someone locked up. Or even prosecuted."

Then work on your wording. Maybe 'his opponents will find something in the report that they will be able to use to convince swing voters not to re-elect him.' That remains a real possibility given the Dems motivation, and the business he was in. Quasi-criminal. Still lmfao.

As for Hillary, correct me if I am wrong, but isn't destroying evidence that has been supeoned a criminal act? What I think of as logic leads me to believe that Clinton committed criminal acts. In fact, I believe, personal belief mind you, that she/they committed treason. Clever as they might have been about it. And I was ready to vote for her over McCain in '08. Shame on me.

pacwest,
I would have voted for Hillary over McCain.
At least with Hillary we would have had loyal opposition.
McCain would have done the same things, policy-wise, and truly ruined the country.

No shame on you, quasi- or otherwise.

Crimes, quasi- and otherwise, occur at their doing.
Unsolved crimes are not less criminal because no person was convicted for the act.

A car thief is a criminal whether they are caught and whether I know of the stealing, as soon as they commit the act.
Innocent until proven guilty is a legal - and not a moral - standard.

If a person quasi-steals, they are neither legally nor morally suspect.

Smear merchants are not quasi-ass holes.
No, they are guilty from the first smear.

I'm not defending her. In 2016, I used the Althouse comments pages to call her "the worst Democratic nominee since Al Smith." My regard for Hillary is so abysmal, I voted for Trump.

So I am not "defending" Hillary. I am ridiculing your hypocrisy.
