That sobriquet seems not to have stuck to Jeh Johnson.

Jeh Who?

Exactly.

One of the prime motivators for many on the left currently is a giant moral inferiority complex. Rather than do good things, which is actually hard if you want to do meaningful good things, they instead decide to make themselves feel better by convincing themselves that their political opponents are some kind of comic book evil-doer. That way in comparison they can feel good about themselves.

This is why, as Charles Krauthamer noted, the right thinks people on the left are dumb and the left thinks people on the right are evil.

No. Smears can stick to righties in a way truthful descriptions don't stick to progs, cuz progs are in charge.

She should actually go down in history as the only DHS secretary to stop the “kids in cages” practice that started under the Obama admin. Democrats are so happy to exploit the Catch 22-type trap they’ve built with the Flores Decidion and the law making OTM automatically eligible to claim asylum, whether it’s true or not. Trump is going to hammer their intransigence from now to voting day 2020.

Becket Adams is wrong, the "fake news" media will see to the reps of both Toobin and Nielsen.

And we have the daily winner of the internet.

Steve said...

To say nothing about the fact that we have already forgotten that locking kids in cages was an Obama policy for years.

Did we forget that or did we just have it hidden from us by Tubin and his ilk?

Wince said...

Who am I to judge: I thought the Flores Decision was about telling the world how creepy Joe Biden is.

The first room of under the desk, in the closet, over the sheets privacy play is that it is planned ahead.

Locker room talk. Grab her by the uterus. Suddenly, Clinton seems sensible, even moderate.

If you're a Mexican/Honduran/Guatemalan citizen and you take your child to join a caravan to try to illegally enter the US, then YOU are the problem, not ex-Secretary Nielsen.

Joe Biden, America's Putin said...

It's laughable how the MSM on CNN is one massive crap-smear campaign.
There isn't a single moment where they are not trying to smear sh*t all over the Trump administration. Talk about collusion.

n.n said...

and the left thinks people on the right are evil

Wicked. Pure projection (PP).

Joe Biden, America's Putin said...

When Obama separated children from parents at the border - it was compassionate.

When Trump does it, and it isn't a drop different, it's all cruel cages!

Mike Sylwester said...

Toobin lied to his wife all the time -- about where he was, about what he was doing, about whom he was meeting.

That is why he lies without any apparent effort on CNN.

Joe Biden, America's Putin said...

Only people who watch Maddow will find Toobin's BS compelling.

Emigration reform to mitigate collateral damage from immigration reform (e.g. refugee crises) at both ends of the bridge and throughout and lift the dark veil that shrouds the wickedness of the twilight fringe.

Now be fair: he offered his mistress money to get an abortion. Like a true gentleman!

Toobin wrote one OK book (The Nine) and a bunch of bad ones; I haven't read his OJ book so I can't say whether it's any good but The Oath and his one on the Clinton investigation were both stupid.

As a person he's apparently a shitty human being--he not only pressured his mistress to get an abortion after knocking her up but then once she gave birth he denied it was his and forced a court-ordered DNA test to prove it.

gadfly said...

I am betting that whatever the DHS Secretary did, Trump ordered done. Nielsen was and is a toady.

He’s a stand up guy, that Toobin. Looks like he offered to pay for an abortion. https://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/gossip/baby-drama-cnn-star-jeffrey-toobin-offered-casey-greenfield-money-abortion-sources-article-1.446944

His planning condemned him. Her baby redeemed her. Baby steps. Good for her.

There's a game based on Toobin's life. It tells the tale of that time that the heroic Jeffry Toobin floated down a river in an inner tube.

I’m no Puritan but I still sometimes wonder how it is that such people can show their faces in public, let alone have high profile jobs and friends and family who will still associate with them. What a completely defective human being.

“What is necessary is to raise the cost on the right of going after the left. In other words, find a rightwinger’s [sic] and smash it through a plate-glass window. Take a snapshot of the bleeding mess and send it out in a Christmas card to let the right know that it needs to live in a state of constant fear.” - Spencer Ackerman, then of the Washington Independent and now with Wired

That is what is being done to Neilsen and has consistently been done to many who joined or supported outsider Trump since 2016.

I looked it up in the Leftist to Reality translator.
When Republican Administration officials advance the agenda of the Administration, they are toadies. When the same happens in Democrat administrations, they are Patriots following the Constitution as defined by the President.
That should clear up the confusion.

I get why Toobin would be known for an affair, because that's what he did. Why should Kristjen Neilsen be known for putting children in cages when that happen in 2014?

Oh, I get it, Toobin is the one with a short memory.

Big Mike said...

Nor is Toobin remembered as the person who illegally removed classified and grand jury-related documents from the files of the Office of Independent Counsel Lawrence Walsh.

That Tweet must have been ghost written by The Donald. It perfectly go for the jugular and it comes as a counter attack.

I'm looking forward to a Nielsen book. Add her name to the list of people who joined the Trump Administration at a high level and who now have reason to regret it. Sessions, Cohen, Mattis, Kelly, McMaster, Tillerson. Too many to list, really.

And she went so far as to lie for Trump, saying that she "didn't recall" Trump using the phrase "shithole countries."

I always want to know when Trump cabinet members go from being part of the greatest cabinet in U.S. history, to incompetents who must be fired. The obvious answer is, "When it suits Trump personally."

Chuck said...

You know, I think I may may misstated something.

It's not at all clear to me that Nielsen was fired. I expect Trump to say that he fired her, as he does with everyone who departs.

But she resigned, didn't she? She a one too many policy disputes with Trump and handed him her resignation, right. With Trump, the devil is always in those sorts of details.

Jeffy Toobin will always be known as the guy who ignored his wife and children to fuck a colleague's daughter, impregnate her, offer an abortion and deny the child was his. After DNA test confirmed the child to be his and refuse to take financial responsibility for the child causing the colleague's daughter to sue him.

Jeffy Toobin is an arrogant fuck, he is evidently the retiring Lawrence Tribe's replacement talking head media attorney saying stupid shit. Is there any wonder why people hate lawyers?

she along with mattis were not considered immigration hawks, but that was who could get past the possum congress then, can kobach do so now, it's left unclear, because romney would probably have a temper tantrum, among others,

For the moment, I will forget you are an Inga clone. And ignore Chuck, as usual.

Neilson was an ally of Kelly and was expected to resign when he did. I was positively impressed when she decided to stay, in spite of receiving the usual abusive treatment by your allies.

I think she was hesitant to push as hard as Trump wants on immigration, probably about closing the border. The law says he gives the orders and the employee follows them or resigns. We don't know the conversation at that 5 PM meeting but I can imagine that she balked, perhaps at the border closing. I can imagine what happened next. She was given a choice and took one.

We are under attack by a funded version of an invasion. The people are being fed and transported on this invasion. Somebody, probably not Mexico, is paying for food and transport. The TV shows rarely show what is really happening. Mostly they show the brief periods when the invasion army is walking.

Here is one,.

Well, that would certainly explain why Trump demanded her resignation.

Nielsen was fine when Kelly was there.

She would have been fine running the department in times of normal operations.

She is way over her head in the current immigration battle.

That's not a knock on her. It's a measure of the seriousness of the times that Trump needs a wartime consigliere.

Yes, remember that Earl Warren and Roosevelt decided to intern Japanese-Americans.

It was a hysteria in California but those are leftist heroes.

The British did the same with German immigrants even though most were Jews and refugees from Hitler.

Many German children were shipped to Canada,

Birkel said...

Instead we have a bunch of Tom Hagens.

Trump understands this fact.

Michael K said...

Actually, Tom Hagen was not bad. What we have are a bunch of Fredos. Chuck gave us a list on another thread,.

Hagen was based on mob lawyer sidney Kershok who was responsible for deals like the one that lorimer pictures were involved with.
