"Dear ABC, when you asked me back to once again bail out your sh*t, f**kin’, low-rated network, I did so with the same vigor I’ve always rocked..."

"... and I delivered you the highest ratings you’ve had in 10 fucking years. At the first sign of controversy, you killed me off with a drug overdose. But you know what, I ain’t dead, bitches."

Said Roseanne Barr, quoted at HuffPo.

Roseanne should have opportunities at her discretion.
The SJW mob nonsense should never be treated respectfully.
Everybody should reply either "Nuts," "Sod off Swampy," or "Bless your heart" to those SJW jackasses.

She might not be my kind of policy wonk, but I like her grit.

I'm no fan of hers, but I do appreciate her taste in enemies.

I had to click to Instagram to see the video.

The MC (ADC?) sounds like Trump. Must be his inner Queens.

So the first person to introduce her on stage after her disaster is Andrew Dice Clay? Who introduces her next gig, Michael Richards?

Is it possible to resurrect a show (and a character) a 3rd time? Especially from a drug overdose? Has it ever been tried?

I would say no...but this is clown world now. 1 in 4 odds says ABC might try again with a new long-lost departed aunt also named 'Roseanne'. Whereupon any new real world controversy will only result in her character being crushed by a falling piano...but only slightly dead.

Roseanne said something and the prudes and speech crime fascists on the left all fainted and HAD to kill her off.

Because she said something. Something bad about a precious and holy D.

But! Northam and his rapist side-kick - you must forgive and forget. Because - D.

D = death
D = Democracy
D = Dies

Democrats want to kill democracy and replace it with leftwing fascism. Doing it.

Be nice if she could do something to greatly monetize her humor, outside of ABC. Something she enjoys doing. It’s tragic how she was treated/shunned by Hollywood for a ambien induced twitter venal sin. But, thought shall not dis the Val. And now Disney welcomes back that Guardians of the Galaxy Director. So hypocritical of Disney, but that’s Hollywood.

Bill Burr had the idea of a Disgrace Channel, where those in disfavor could serve out their time: Paula Deen, Louis CK, Michael Richards, Kevin Spacey, Matt Lauer, Roseanne, etc. But this implies that there is some sort of Redemption and Forgiveness which will come after a while. Fat chance.

No Roseanne... tell us how you really feel!

There is an old saying, "Evil consumes Evil". Well liberals consume liberals.

The vulgarity doesn't help her cause, to the extent it includes creating sympathy for her plight as an incredibly rich and famous person who's been cast out by the same forces that made her that way.

The show failed without her. Time for her to do a new show on another network with a different cast.

Her sense of middle America’s issues can be the common thread.

You go, girl!!!

Never was a fan of the show but I do like Roseanne herself, at least in small doses. She did get screwed and she should fight back.

For the females and people identifying as female here: Can I still say "You go, girl" or is "girl" now offensive?

In case I can't, I'll get out in front with a nopology:

"I am sorry you were offended"

Under the Democrat debate rules, if she wanted to, Roseanne could easily become one of the candidates on that stage. That would be fun.

Bitter much, Rose?

"Hell hath no fury...."

Not to say that she's without justification.

However successful and profitable the show could have been in the universe of ABC and the conglomerate of its ownership the show is a rounding error at best. The suits at the top can afford to be sports with the shareholder's equity. To them, the loss isn't as important as the noise they were getting in their social network.

If done right, and by that I mean as irreverently anti-PC as possible, she could have a new show that would dominate. She is uniquely positioned for it right now, and the country is starved to get back to its non-snowflake self. I predict a big pendulum swing back away from all this outrage hysteria, or as someone called it the other day "the oppression Olympics".

Channing Dungey, first black woman president of a TV network, was ousted late last year. This is an interesting bit of speculation suggesting her problems were linked to hiring, rather than firing Roseanne:

Maybe that's true, because Disney is an unusual place. Still, Daniel D'Addario is no Lisa de Moraes (Deadline.com TV reporter who saw Dungey's hunger to exit Roseanne months before it happened, when Dungey humiliated Roseanne at the upfronts ahead of the 2nd season of the surprise runaway hit show).

The whole thing is very sad for the rift it created between Roseanne and some of her co-stars. Roseanne was the guest for Candace Owen's inaugural episode of her new interview show: an even Roseanne performance, seemingly overcome at times hurt and rancor, and just plain uneven. In any case, Channing Dungey was a tool, and it's right of Roseanne to focus on Michelle Obama and Jarrett as the root cause of her termination, even if she can't substantiate it to a lawyerly standard. Total hit job: she's still a dangerous woman.

Roseanne said something and the prudes and speech crime fascists on the left all fainted and HAD to kill her off.

The tweet was a pretext. The success of the show, the normalization of a Trump fan by having a beloved TV character embrace him, was the "venal sin." This is not speculation: Dungey was gunning for her and humiliated her at the TV upfronts ahead of the second season. She stood up and asserted creative control over the show, saying next season would be about family and not politics, after Roseanne had extracted promises of creative control. They tried to break Roseanne's spirit, but all it did was piss her off. Roseanne hit back.

Kind of makes me wonder how "Archie Bunker's Place" or "The Jeffersons" might be viewed nowadays, if they were current reboots.

This is why we don't have a TV anymore. Or a Netflix/Amazon/youtube/whatthehellever streaming account. None of this garbage is interesting to us.

Roseanne like Trump should never have used Twitter. They might have preserved their now tattered reputations. Blacks were brought to this country in chains to be sold as slaves. That's why racist jokes are so deadly. You can enact laws to hurt blacks and get away with it, but don't compare them to apes even in jest.
