Aside from the people who attend and some of the music and speeches, whoever they are, all receive the same beautiful Anglican liturgy in baptism, marriage, and funeral services.
If the board wants to hack my gmail, get my YT banned, now over 145 videos, well just follow me on twitter, inga, Trumpit, whoever is the party determined to dim my bright light. Follow me on twitter, be straight-up about your jealousy and rage.
I saw a big article in the sports section of our local paper on Sunday that Cliff Kresge, part-time local resident who is the touring pro of the country club in my neighborhood, sucessfully made it through Q school and will be joining the PGA Senior Tour for 2019. I wonder if Ann and Meade will be taking that new CR-V on any road trips to some Senior Tour events in 2019?
all receive the same beautiful Anglican liturgy in baptism, marriage, and funeral services.
Actually, in researching my discussion with rcocean in a different thread, I watched basically all of the service as I could find it on multiple feeds on youtube. The service was not a standard Episcopalian service. I think it was a special kind of "interdenominational" service or something. There was no Introit/Collect, no Creed, no communion. Just readings, eulogies, hymns, blessing of the body, & a send off.
Maybe, there's someone out there who knows Episcopalian liturgical regs better than I do, and can speak to what we saw today. But it was unique, I think.
I saw some of the funeral. I can sympathize with those who think it was too much, but still we need such ceremonies and rituals to mark the passing of our important men. If not for dead Presidents, then for who......Bush by every visible metric was a successful and decent man. He was President at a fulcrum point of world history and didn't screw things up. When we lavish honors on him, we are honoring ourselves. We passed through those moments together and left the world better for our passing. Anyway, it's pretty to think so.
"The service was not a standard Episcopalian service"
I'll admit, I did not listen to whole service. I listened on and off during the morning (I live in CA) on the radio while I was calling on clients. Some of the clients I called on had it playing on the radio or on a Windows screen behind their work. Perhaps what I heard was familiar enough to read too much into it. Or perhaps that my clients were listening to same service when I walked in the door made me believe we had same shared liturgy.
I'm reposting this because I still can't believe it was said, and said without any question or pushback from his fellow commentators. They live in an alternate reality where history, and cause and effect, exist to be rewritten in service of the party.
"Now that the service is over, the talking heads are talking. I just heard Chuck Todd on NBC say that breaking his (Bush 41) no new taxes pledge may have cost him the election but that it was the right thing to do for the country. Why? Because eight years of prosperity under Bill Clinton followed raising taxes. They just can't help themselves. Couldn't believe my ears."
It's nice to think that all the government workers spent the day mourning George HW Bush.
Actually, they spent the day staying out of the way. Traffic on a full work day in DC is always a dicey-proposition. Add in the traffic inflow for the viewing at the Capital, the cleared route for the motorcade to the National Cathedral, the crowds along the motorcade route, the parking & security for all the dignitaries to & from the National Cathedral, & the cleared route for the motorcade for the casket from the National Cathedral back to Andrews AFB for the flight back to Texas, & you would have absolute gridlock for the better part of the day.
All the living Presidents and their first ladies sitting next to each other at a State funeral for Pres Bush. Some guy sprays high school level graffiti on a tweet. Thanks Chuck, can't wait to pass that on.
Given that the burial is tomorrow, despite it being denoted a "state funeral," I think what was held at the National Cathedral was more rightly a prayer service, not a funeral liturgy. It certainly had a lot of elements jumbled together in no discernible logical order.
Tomorrow I would expect a more formal, more strictly Episcopalian funeral liturgy.
But what do I know other than the non-Catholic funeral services I've been to have all been rather foreign.
If I cared, I could chase down each and every insult from each of those persons that attacked President Trump. Because that's what happens. The President defends himself.

Not just the lefties. We see this everday with the now utterly exposed fake LLR's who have become more open with their complete alignment with the left.
Watching the C-SPAN replay. Plane just landed in Houston.
I'm thinking that riding on Air Force One seems to be a bit of a pain. Typically when I fly, when the plane lands, I'm ready to get off right away. But with Air Force One, they have to do all this security stuff before you can deplane. And there is this long wait. That has to be annoying.
Sorry narsiso, no conspiracy here - just Trump opening his Twitter mouth. Wapo reports:
In a series of Twitter posts Tuesday, the president threatened to slap additional import penalties on Chinese products if China did not make major changes in its economic relationship with the United States.
“President Xi and I want this deal to happen, and it probably will,” Trump wrote. “But if not remember, I am a Tariff Man. When people or countries come in to raid the great wealth of our Nation, I want them to pay for the privilege of doing so. It will always be the best way to max out our economic power.”
Tuesday night, the president bore down on the theme, tweeting: “We are either going to have a REAL DEAL with China, or no deal at all - at which point we will be charging major Tariffs against Chinese product being shipped into the United States.” He added that he believes the two sides will make a deal because “China does not want tariffs.”
The tweets were an abrupt departure from Trump’s comments aboard Air Force One on his way home from Buenos Aires, when he told reporters that he and Xi had reached the framework of a deal that would come together in 90 days.
One of these days, Trump and his dumbsters will realise that U.S. consumers, investors and businesses, not the Chinese, pay for U.S. tariffs. Ask our farmers and GM. Trump's lying doesn't help matters either.
CWJ said (yesterday) I just heard Chuck Todd on NBC say that breaking his (Bush 41) no new taxes pledge may have cost him the election but that it was the right thing to do for the country

A felon who escaped from a South Carolina prison early Tuesday morning and barged into a woman’s home was fatally shot by the homeowner in what the local sheriff described as a “shining example” of why people should own guns and know how to use them.
If you haven't done so, LIPAVI has sous vide containers with lids that have an opening for the device. Worth the investment for longer cooks due to limited evaporation. A FoodSaver machine is also worthwhile for the application but we use it mostly for food bought on sale that freezes well. Lasts much longer without freezer burn.
I'm sold on sous vide for many applications. I don't care for it as much for beef as other proteins as it seems to impart a texture somewhat different sometimes than regular cooking. Excellent for eggs as well.

Tarriffs are taxes. Does the left not know that? They love taxes. Trump is ushering in a wave of prosperity according to Chuck Todd.
When Paris leaves the Paris Accord is it still called the Paris Accord?

Indeed, time honored advice from French leadership.
"When Paris leaves the Paris Accord is it still called the Paris Accord?"
Funniest comment I have seen in forever. This is a classic. Stealing it, of course.
The NYT makes an admission against interest:

I'm guessing that if an Amazon driver says there's no safe place to leave a package he still gets paid for delivering it.
#METOO Freeman Hunt.
Freeman, what hardware commitment is there? Which proteins are you cooking?
This was about nabbing their head tech mogul in the midst of a round of negotiations
I got a Joule the other day and did an 18 hour chuck roast cook. Tasted like tenderloin. No kidding.
Vacuum sealer or Ziploc?
Double Ziploc.

Already in the opening minutes the Houston service is a much more traditional funeral liturgy.
Could do without the National Anthem. This ain't a baseball game.
Don't like ministers who give stage directions either.
It's becoming more of a mish-mash (again).
I don't get it.
