Ambiguous headline I read the way the Washington Examiner did not intend.

"Is Team Trump ready for Pelosi's 'death by a thousand cuts'?"

In having subjected herself to multiple face lifts, SanFranNan is now immune to death by a 000 cuts.

I don't see the ambiguity. They used single quotes correctly.
Don't get me wrong, every rational person should welcome Pelosi's death and the death of the Left, though.

Is it Pelosi dying by 1,000 cuts? She seems like she might be in her bid for speakership. I assume she will prevail in the end though.

Perhaps with President Trump's help. How cool would that be? If he can get a dozen or so Republicans to vote for her, he may hobble her to some extent.

She won't be grateful but he will be able to claim that he has her in his pocket and the fascists to her left will go nuts. The entertainment value would be tremendous.

When folks complain that he is meddling, he just says "No, I'm trying to be be bipartisan. Bipartisan is good, isn't it?"

Or maybe President Trump is to die by 1,000 cuts of Pelosi. He's suffered a couple thousand cuts already and is not only still standing but is chugging relentlessly ahead making American great again. I suspect he is immune to Pelosi.

Pelosi's figurative death, but yes. Every sane person who understands the gift of prosperity and human dignity that Western Civilization has granted the rest of the world should welcome the death of leftism, as well as post-60's liberalism.

Yes. "How many deaths will it take ’til we know, that too many people have died?” Apparently the number is well north of hundreds of millions for lefties, but the answer to that is still blowin’ in the wind, the answer is blowin’ in the wind...

The WaPoo has a long history of headline puns and ambiguities which the Examiner must know about. This might be intentional linkbait.

The position of the single quote mark is important I guess.

One thousand cuts? The Kavanaugh hearings show us what will happen as the left tries to showcase its moral superiority and persuade America to follow it into the darkness. I believe that the specific way in which One Thousand Cuts will go wrong will spring from the fact the Dem strategy is this: Project Hillary's crimes onto Trump. So each day of the hearings will drive home the dangers of allowing Hillary and the Clinton mafia (and the DC global elitists) to do what they do - though each day the ostensible subject of discussion is Trump. A little mini-rehearsal of the likely consequences of this frank exploration of Bill and Hillary's faults is the way constantly talking about Trump and the Access tape suddenly caused Harvey Weinstein to fall and led to #MeToo. Or to take another example, denying Judge Kavanaugh due process led to discussion and understanding of the Title IX kangaroo courts and, as a result, the "Dear Colleague" letter sent under 44 has been revoked without much discussion.

Sunshine soldiers and rino Republicans are what's needed over the next two years but he who perseveres will earn the gratitude of his country. Even if, she or xe.

Well Team Trump won't weep if Pelosi dies due to botched facial surgery. So they are ready for that.

OTOH I can read it as Is Team Trump ready for the onslaught--i.e. the statement is a question. If so the answer is "yes".

But I am getting tired of banana republic style politics where the results of every election are challenged and the losers set out to topple the winner. And I am getting particularly tired of my own little frog eyed Congress critter Adam Schiff. He needs to offer to swim across the Potomac with a scorpion on his back--metaphorically speaking that is. He is full of himself.

While Pelosi is an advocate for other people to wield the double-edged scalpel, she seems to prefer the novelty mallet to reduce things she deems unworthy.

I read it as 'death by a thousand cunts'. Did no one else misread 'cuts'?

I can only attribute my misreading to my personal animosity towards Pelosi. Oops.

Heh, heh, heh!

Any way you slice it it's still baloney.

Karen in Texas,

You are not alone (though for at least one person--please don't ask me how I know this--it wasn't a misreading but just an obvious transformation, and I ... oops, I mean that person has been searching for some way to introduce this as a pun or something.)

Old Geezer,

"But I am getting tired of banana republic style politics where the results of every election are challenged and the losers set out to topple the winner."

Yes it's tiresome, but there's a certainly predictability about when this occurs that you neglect to mention.

I personally don't favor death by a thousand cuts for Pelosi. Natural causes is fine with me.
