At the Friday Night Café...

... you can talk all night.

And think of using the Althouse Portal to Amazon. If you'd like to buy what I just bought, it would be this wooden spoon and this jumbo bottle of Philosophy Purity.

Interesting tweet by Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-15th District):

"And it would be a short war my friend. The government has nukes. Too many of them. But they’re legit. I’m sure if we talked we could find common ground to protect our families and communities."

So if I don't turn in the 19th century black powder muzzleloaders I have in my basement safe, they will nuke me? Tough luck, I guess for the rest of the people in my development, not to mention nearby schools.

“WASHINGTON — George T. Conway III, the husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, said the Republican Party has become “a personality cult” under President Trump and that he would “move to Australia” rather than vote for the president again.

“I don’t feel comfortable being a Republican anymore,” Conway said in an exclusive interview for the Yahoo News podcast “Skullduggery” about his decision to drop his party registration earlier this year. “I think the Republican Party has become something of a personality cult.”

Asked if he thinks the president is fully stable, Conway responded: “No comment.””

I wonder if his wife will be moving to Australia with him.

@Inky, for the eight years of the Obama administration the Democrats and media were a personality cult. What is going on right now is substantially different.

Do you ever wonder what sort of a sonfabitch of a husband would do that to his wife? No matter what you might think of your wife's employer, why would you publicly humiliate her like that?

GT Conway is insane. No righteous man humiliates family that way.

Shocker: Guy Who Shouted "Heil Hitler, Heil Trump" At a Fiddler on the Roof Performance Is Actually... An Anti-Trump Progressive Activist

Yes, everyone pretty much thought this, though many of us did not say so because we'd be yelled at by the Very Smart People Who Are Wrong About Almost Everything.

I mean, this seemed like a FALSE FLAG from the get-go, but the Very Smart People Who Are Wrong About Almost Everything yell when people say almost-certainly correct things like "This sounds much more like a MAGA parody as imagined by a febrile progressive than an actual MAGA supporter," and want Republicans to assume that they are Garbage People like their progressive Twitter Palz say and pre-emptively denounce themselves.

She
She came from the land of the cotton
A land that was nearly forgotten by everyone
She
She worked and she slaved so hard
A big old field was her back yard in the delta sun

[Transition]
Oh, but she sure could sing
Oh, she sure could sing

[Verse 2]
Then he
Looked down and he took a little pity
The whole town swore he decided he'd help her some
But he
Didn't mind if she wasn't very pretty
And deep inside his heart, he knew she was the only one

[Transition]

[Chorus]
She had faith, she had believing
She led all the people together in singing
And she prayed every night to the lord up above
Singing hallelujah, hallelujah

[Verse 3]
They
Used to walk, singing songs by the river
Even when she knew for sure she had to go away
She
Never knew what her life was to give her
And never had to worry about it for one single day

[Transition]

[Chorus]

[Verse 1]

This. Same for any bitch of a wife that would do this to a husband. Hubby and I are "life long Republicans" (but NOT of the Chuck variety) and have occasionally been on different sides during GOP primaries. (Kemp V Dole; Cruz v. Rubio). But neither of us would ever disparage the candidates (or office holder/employer) in this manner. If for no other reason, it's unconscionable to set this example for the kids.

George Conway could learn a lesson or two from Mary Matalin and the Ragin' Cajun Carville.

The beauty of history starting anew each morning.

I remember when Obama and Clinton lost a lot more seats than this. It signified NOTHING other than the absolute predictability of voters. Today's leftists fixating on something so normal is evidence of the constant gaslighting the left participates in. Either as instigators, like the media, or victims like inga

Big Mike said...

Rep. Swalwell is actually mainstream in his party. I recollect a few weeks ago one of the resident lefty trolls suggested that my house should be hit with a MOAB if I didn't voluntarily turn in my guns. Since I back onto woods I imagine that the resulting forest fire would be substantial, and I guess to the resident trolls killing the children whose families live around mine are just acceptable collateral damage.
