It's a Miley Cyrus allusion....
I hopped off the plane at LAX/With a dream and my cardigan/Welcome to the land of fame excess/Am I gonna fit in?/Jumped in the cab, here I am for the first time/Look to my right, and I see the Hollywood sign/This is all so crazy/Everybody seems so famous....

Her voice gives me a headache.
...but Miley pitched in Game 2!
Go Brewers!
This brand of fandom is strange and foreign for me. Is it a National League thing?
Please no allusions to Men At Twerk.
Miley is kind of old school. She harks back to Madonna. That was when female pop singers were the shock troops in the sexual revolution. If you wanted to know about bofo and Devil's Triangles, they were the ones to ask. . But that was then, and this is now. Taylor Swift is the new wave. No nudity, no bofoing, no no Devil's Triangles. The politics, however, remain progressive.
here's the bad lip reading version.
Miley has very cute breasts. And if that weren't enough, she's multi-talented!
Brewer's twitter feed - one of the best around.
As a Detroit Tiger fan I have to ask: Is the baseball season still going?
If you are coming in from LAX the Hollywood sign would be on your left not right.
It's a bad Brewer omen, since real men don't wear cardigans.
Go Dodgers
The LA airport song I am familiar with comes from Arlo Guthrie.Coming into Los Angeles. Not that I used the song as a model for my behavior, mind you.
One time when I was returning from a drilling rig in Colombia, Customs in Miami took me aside after I presented my passport. "What is this for," I asked. Customs man: "You are going to get what you deserve/going to get yours." As I was not carrying any illegal materials with me, I did not appreciate that remark.
In retrospect, there was a bulge in my sweater, the result of wearing my camera around my neck during the flight, that raised suspicion. All the work visas in my passport- not exactly what a smuggler would have.
That was the only unpleasant experience I ever had with US Customs.Customs officials all over the world have a good idea of what items in luggage are worth.
Spent my days with a woman unkind
Smoked my stuff and drank all my wine.
Made up my mind to make a new start
Going To California with an aching in my heart.
Someone told me there's a girl out there
With love in her eyes and flowers in her hair.
Took my chances on a big jet plane
Never let them tell you that they're all the same.
The sea was red and the sky was grey
Wondered how tomorrow could ever follow today.
The mountains and the canyons started to tremble and shake
As the children of the sun began to awake.
Seems that the wrath of the Gods
Got a punch on the nose and it started to flow;
I think I might be sinking.
Throw me a line if I reach it in time
I'll meet you up there where the path
Runs straight and high.
To find a queen without a king;
They say she plays guitar and cries and sings.
La la la la
Side a white mare in the footsteps of dawn
Tryin' to find a woman who's never, never, never been born.
Standing on a hill in my mountain of dreams,
Telling myself it's not as hard, hard, hard as it seems
"If you are coming in from LAX the Hollywood sign would be on your left not right."
Unless she took one hell of a meandering drive.
Astros lived the dream, but it would be nice to have all games this year be in the Central time zone. Besides, it is incredibly annoying to listen to the media, whom are complete homers for LA. Maybe we can make the sports media cover middle America.
Cause' all I see are stilettos
I guess I never got the memo

As a Red Sox fan I can tell you yes.
Kinda sucks having the best baseball team in the country playing at the same time as the best football team in the country, as they did last night. But, that is a cross we in New England must bear.
Hate to say it, but that's a great bubble gum pop song.
You have to have a heart of stone to root for the Dodgers unless you are just a life-long Dodger fan. Go Milwaukee!
I don't remember if Ms Althouse posted it but, the Brewers' tweet which came right after the Cubs tie breaker game was also a good one. Among many.
Well, I just got into town about an hour ago
Took a look around, see which way the wind blow
Where the little girls in their Hollywood bungalows
Are you a lucky little lady in the City of Light
Or just another lost angel?
Go Dodgers
Being at games 1 and 2 was a blast, if not exhausting. Friday night went over 4 hours which begins to get tedious with all the mound visits and piching changes, plus some tv timeouts. Saturday was going well, but we thought it strange Jeffress came back out for the next inning which proved fatal. Will enjoy watching from the living room the next few nights. If you find yourself in the position to do it, you must step on the Dodgers necks. Hopefully Chacin has a good start tonight.
Miley - take that cab to Windsor and Melrose for a great view of the sign with the old Paramount Studios in the foreground.
and Go, Walker.
@Yancey Ward:
Life-long Dodgers fan here, and not from being from L.A.. I grew up in Florida where my father introduced me to them. Sandy Koufax is still my all-time favorite player.
Then again, that doesn't preclude the fact that I may also have a heart of stone.
Go Blue!

Apparently Machado is butt hurt that he booted a grounder that Arcia could handle in his sleep.
Good on Counsel to challenge and win. Machado is good, but maybe he's a dirty player.
Grandal has really hurt the Dodgers this series.
