"[Beto O'Rourke] had Joe Kennedy down here campaigning with him. And Joe Kennedy was driving him around. I have to admit, it may be the first time in history anyone's ever asked a Kennedy to drive."

Ted Cruz makes a Mary Jo Kopechne joke, quoted in "Kennedyesque? Texans get close-up comparison as Beto O'Rourke stumps with Joe Kennedy III" (Dallas Morning News).
In Corpus, O'Rourke began by asking Kennedy to play chauffeur and as he often does, letting viewers come along for the ride via Facebook Live. They bantered. O'Rourke teased Kennedy for being unable to figure out the windshield wipers as a brief downpour hit....

Asked in McAllen about Cruz's jab, Kennedy said... "My family — I'm proud of the contribution that they have made to this country and the sacrifice that they have made to this country.... My uncle fought his entire life to try make sure that everybody got access to health care...
Everybody?  Everybody except that one person.
... because of the challenges that he saw with his own son almost losing his life to cancer as a boy. And you have a senator [Cruz] that shut down the federal government to try to deny millions of people access to health care. Texas obviously has a choice to make."

Cruz was attempting to shut down hospitals and clinics so people could not get access to health care?

Oh Beto is lying, he is talking about subsidized insurance and trying to frighten dummies by saying health care.

Too bad smart people let Beto frighten the poor dummies unable to fend intellectually for themselves.

Robert Francis has one ad that is played over and over and over. Especially during local news and any sportsball games. He talks about not being democrats or republicans, but being Texans and Americans. Long on pablum, short on specifics. And it's about the only one we see here in the Dallas area.

The problem? He has this nasty-ass cold sore on his upper lip and it's on HD tv. It is nauseating. I have talked with a few friends and they all noticed it too. Even liberals in Austin!

Herpes and High Definition television just don't mix. And the ad itself is so soporific that you don't listen and just focus on the suppurating pustule. We all hope he's not going around kissing babies with that lip.

O’Rourke tried to leave the scene. A motorist that witnessed the accident stopped him. He was arrested at the accident scene with a .13 BAC.

Perfect.

The Kennedys are genetically incapable of operating anything more complex than a still. Joe Junior atomized himself in a B-24. The plane was designated as a BQ-8, supposedly a drone aircraft intended to destroy a V-2 launching site by crash-diving with 10 tons of torpex on board. When Joe Junior was at the controls two meanings of the word drone applied at once.

John F's PT-109 was famously sliced in twain by the Japanese destroyer Amagiri. The details of that incident are still cloudy, but it stands to reason that a small, highly maneuverable boat ought to be able to evade a 400-foot ship. Still, John got a Navy Cross, perhaps the first time such an award was given to a captain who lost his vessel. Kennedy was never called before a board of inquiry, a routine procedure in the case of sinkings, and the press coverage made him out as the one and only hero of the whole affair, giving no credit to the other officers and the native coastwatchers who risked more than there own lives to rescue the PT-109 survivors. Joe Senior pulled a lot of strings we can be sure.

John-John followed in Uncle Joe's footsteps, and there the famous drowning of Mary Jo by Uncle Ted.

Nobody seems much concerned over whether Robert Francis O'Rourke's hard drinking ever led to him getting blackout drunk and forming rape gangs.

Maybe Justice Kavanaugh should have gotten people to call him BenĂcio.

Beto has raised a lot of money and generated a lotta publicity. He’s kinda like the “It Guy” - the male analog to AOC, the current “It Girl” on the Left.

The Left really wants to turn Texas blue, just as they turned Ronnie Reagan’s California blue. But Texans don’t wanna become blue.

Joe Kennedy? In Texas? Other than the base, who finds that appealing?

Imagine a white, conservative candidate assuming a Hispanic name when running against a candidate of actual Hispanic ancestry. The media attacks would be brutal.

But, hey, that smile! The skate board! He's, he's positively Kennedy reborn.

Hope he doesn't take up flying as a hobby.

As SweatBee alludes, it was JKIV's father, JKIII, "who was responsible for the accident that paralyzed Pam Kelley".

From the NYT... 1973

NANTUCKET, Mass., Aug. 20 (UPI)—Joseph P. Kennedy 3d, oldest son of the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy, was convicted today of negligent driving that resulted in an accident that at least temporarily paralyzed a teen‐age girl. He was fined $100.

“You had a great father and you have a great mother,” District Court Judge George Anastas told Mr. Kennedy, 20 years old. “Use your illustrious name as an asset instead of coming into court like this.”

Isn’t calling yourself Beto cultural appropriation if you’re white?

And Rafael goes by Ted, a shortened version of his middle name Edward.

Ted’s mom is 75% mick and 25% dago American. His dad is Cuban but his grandparents are from Spain. Ted’s basically criollo on his dad’s side.

We basically have a race between a mick and a half-mick. So it’s only appropriate to have a Kennedy pitch in to swing the Irish vote in Texas to the full mick and way from the half mick.

It should be pointed out that the governors of Massachusetts 1965-1975 overlapping both Ted and Joe Kennedy's accidents were Republicans.

I have never understood the logic of the Beto phenomenon, and especially why the Democratic Party has encouraged it. He literally has no chance of winning next month unless Cruz is caught in bed with dead boy or a living girl. Why the Democrats have allowed Beto to suck up so much money and attention is self-defeating for the party, though I imagine that Beto himself will make out just fine with a sinecure at CNN or MSNBC. I mean, seriously, who thought campaigning with Kennedy in Texas was a good campaign move for getting elected Senator? I don't think even Beto himself thought he had a snowball's chance in Hell of winning, but the Democrat Party is paying for his personal advancement all the same. Beto ain't stupid- his campaign isn't to become to Senator- I give him credit for that.

Yancey Ward said...

Ted Kennedy transformed his opportunity to be a hero into manslaughter. He was a drunken womanizing schmuck who solicited Russia to intervene in our political process, advocated for socialized medicine and defamed Robert Bork. In other words, he was a good Democrat who was lionized by the leftmedia despite reality.

Even Cruz understands now.

Without the republican party deceiving and betraying republican voters and the completely discredited media being completely ineffectual it will be interesting to see what the plutarchs come up with to retain control over their DC apparatus.

The plutarchs used to fund democrats and republicans.

We ran all of their tools out of the republican party and their control of DC is slipping.

They are going to give a lot of money to the democrats to keep control.

But it wont work now.

Does it suck being a tool?
