Interesting pair of front page articles in today's LA Times. One on foreign tourists (mostly China, Japan and Australia) in Hawaii renting guns in gun ranges since cannot shoot at home. The other about women is janitorial workers in California doing self defense courses because of sex crime risks.
I call BS on Nike for their support of social justice with the naming Colin Kaepernick as their 30th Anniversary “Just Do It” poster boy. Uhh, Nike, what about your exploitation of workers in China, Vietnam, and other Asian countries? If you are so concerned with “oppressed minorities” in the U.S., build your factories in American inner cities with high unemployment amongst said minorities and pay them $15 or more per hour. What’s that you say, Phil Knight? You already have American minorities on your payroll? Sorry, the likes of Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods don’t count. By the way, I haven’t bought Nikes in years because of the foreign manufacturering plants of their products as well as their shoes don’t last very long. I know, trying to find shoes even partially made in the U.S. is hard but New Balance has made some here and they hold up better than Nikes for less money.
Three men are getting married, one to a Greek girl, one to an Asian woman, and the third to an American girl. Each tells his bride “I’m the boss of this house and I want you to keep it clean and to have a hot meal on the table every night when I get home from work.”
The first man, the one who married the Greek girl, doesn’t see much improvement on the first day, nor does he see much improvement on the second day. But on the third day his house is perfectly clean and there’s a nice, hot meal on the table.
Likewise the man who married the Asian doesn't see much improvement on the first day, nor does he see much on the second day, but on the third day he comes home to an immaculate house and a hot supper on the table.
The third man doesn’t see much after the first two days, but by the third day the swelling is down so he can sort of make out shapes. His broken arm will take a while to heal, and his gonads will stop aching sometime soon.
This feeble joke dedicated to Althouse, Freeman Hunt, DBQ, and Misplaced Pants.
I'm a guy, and as with most, have no clue what is going on, but my wife and I will celebrate (?) our 29th anniversary soon. I must have played the marriage angst and mini squabbles successfully. Again, unless there is something going on that I don't know about, which is entirely possible. She seems happy-ish and has joined a wine club. Oh my god...….
Brewers knocking Cubs around tonight. Brewers scored on a wild pitch, a passed ball, and a hit batter. That's probably happened before but it must be rare. Three sac flies to right, too.
It's really a supreme court with two sitting justices, where mom and dad will discover common interest over a cup of tea, with the occasional abstention on ground coffee (it doesn't sit well with dad).
It's amazing the Rockies are in first with a negative run differential, compared to the Dodgers with a +144. When they lose, they must lose big. Maybe someone in LA has a lawsuit planned for cracking and packing those wins and losses.
Does anyone else think it's possible that Zina Bash made the "o.k." sign purposely, knowing that idiot Democrats would accuse her of white supremacy? The reaction is certainly fun to watch. I've heard that some people in the Trump administration and in alternative media flash that sign because they know it drives the left crazy.
Bash is White Mexican-American, with Jew privilege. Of course she's a color supremacist and rabid diversitist. That said, in the order of subservient gestures: prostration, knee, okay is kind of meek, don't you think?
Once I heard Trump Jr on Howard Stern a few years ago, basically saying the people in non-northern Florida were ok, but the ones in northwestern part of the state were essentially rednecks and to be looked down upon, I understood the Dumps' feelings on Southerners. The president just confirmed it: "“This guy is mentally retarded. He’s this dumb Southerner,” Trump told former White House aide Rob Porter. “He couldn’t even be a one-person country lawyer down in Alabama," when speaking about Sessions.
"That’s who this president is. He covets Southerners’ votes. He expects Southerners’ loyalty. But he thinks Southerners like Jeff Sessions are beneath him." https://www.annistonstar.com/opinion/editorials/editorial-what-president-trump-thinks-of-southerners-like-jeff-sessions/article_49f5536a-b095-11e8-ab29-8323f2c9a050.html

Will be celebrating our 29th soon also. I received some advice early on from an elderly gentleman. If things get testy, he said to respond to your lovely bride with five words: "I'm sorry, I was wrong".
I questioned the timing on the release of an excerpt of Woodward’s book. But now it is clear that the Progs wanted to distract from the disgraceful Kavanaugh hearings. Morning Joe lead with Woodward’s book.
Yep, I watched the first few minutes (seconds??) of Morning Rino to get his take on the Kavanaugh hearings. Nope, it was Woody Woodward all the way down.
Ayanna Pressley, who beat Capuano, is part of the Occasional Cortex wing of the Democratic party. Full Socialist, yet her victory party was at the IBEW local so she likes close Detroit style relationships between government and labor unions.
In 1988, he published “Veil: The Secret Wars of the C.I.A., 1981-1987,” which contained his famous account of a deathbed conversation with William Casey, the former C.I.A. director. Casey, according to Woodward’s telling, admitted that he knew about the illegal diversion of monies from Iranian arms sales to the Nicaraguan Contras. “His head jerked up hard,” Woodward wrote. “He stared, and finally nodded yes.” “Why?” Woodward asked. Casey whispered, “I believed.” Did it happen like that? Even today, it’s a matter of dispute. In 2010, a former C.I.A. employee, who was part of Casey’s security detail, claimed Woodward “fabricated” the story after being turned away from Casey’s room at Georgetown University Hospital.
Woodward was a good stenographer for Mark Felt. That's all.
Ann asks us to go here to comment on her pathetic refusal to notice the news about the NYT column. Ann and many of her readers are deaf and blind to the chaos in the White House, which Ann treats as a joke and many of her readers regard as just par for the course. Ann, now you and the willingly ignorant tribe you have abetted stand alone, embracing with love this greasy cruddy man, without a shred of decency and a wide streak of cruelty, who you think tells lies for fun, which you think is perfectly OK for the president, as long as you can have a good laugh at the liberals. Many of Ann's commenters advertise a depth of ignorance that Ann, if she had a shred of a sense of bettering the polity, could help dig them out of. Of course, Ann can't be bothered.

Song lyrics by Lorenz Hart (1895 - 1943)
-----
Falling in Love With Love
I weave with brightly colored strings
To keep my mind off other things;
So, ladies, let your fingers dance
And keep your hands out of romance.
Lovely witches,
Let the stitches
Keep your fingers
Under control.
Cut the thread, but leave
Your whole heart whole.
Merry maids can sew and sleep;
Wives can only sew and weep!
Falling in love with love
Is falling for make-believe.
Falling in love with love
Is playing the fool.
Caring too much
Is such a juvenile fancy.
Learning to trust
Is just for children in school.
I fell in love with love
One night when the moon was full.
I was unwise,
With eyes unable to see.
I fell in love with love --
With love everlasting,
But love
Fell out with me.

I am the boss in THIS house, and I have my wife’s permission to say so.
Why didn't security give Fred Guttenberg three rounds center-of-body-mass when he breached the protection circle?
Mike Sylvester, that song made me very sad
Mom may be the Boss, but she's such a bad driver we had to protect the house with concrete-filled steel pylons.

I hope this kind of feature writing a sign of revival under new ownership.

Kaepernick signed a $100 Mill deal with 49ers, who then benched him and cut him.
Why are the San Francisco 49ers so racist and heartless, I ask?
Mom's cup runneth over. And she really likes that part about a table being prepared for her in the presence of her enemies.

Rockies only chance of making the playoffs is to win their Division outright. Both Mil and STL will nab the wildcards

Ok, a tad self-pitying, but the point is taken.

Woodward is well know to fabricate stuff.
