"I'm not being totally facetious," said Donald Trump back in 2004...

... when he argued that he should be paid $18 million for each episode of "The Apprentice":
Hey, it makes sense: The actors on "Friends" got $1,500,000 an episode, but there were six of them sharing the work. If one guy has to carry the whole thing, that's 1.5 times 6: $9,000,000. But "Friends" was only a half hour show. "The Apprentice" is an hour. So, 9 times 2: That's $18,000,000. Trump said, "I'm not being totally facetious."
Well, you know what Walt Disney (didn't) say: "If you can dream it, you can do it."

And I like this, from John Lennon:
I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now?
And then there's my all-time favorite "dream" quote:
I'd like to become the first insect politician. I'd like to, but.... I'm an insect.... who dreamed he was a man, and loved it. But now the dream is over, and the insect is awake.

Why no dream tag?

The power of positive dreams sort of sounds like leadership skill.

"I believe in everything until it's disproved."

Today, we deal with people who don't stop there. They keep it up forever and insist they have a RIGHT to spread it.

"So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons."

Despite the fact, by then, those had all been disproved.

"It all exists, even if it's in your mind."

The mental games people play, to keep the madness going, are astounding.

"Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now?"

The Crack Emcee, Fool. After reading this, it's really no wonder he got shot.

The actors/actresses on Friends always got to sit down on their stupid couch. So not much effort there.

Kathleen Turner didn't make friends with the Friends.
She had arthritis, and one of the crew finally got her an off-screen chair.

Considering what happened with Ahrnold, Trump had a point about the money.

someone once told me the German word that translates roughly into English as geniusly open and broadminded. it was applied to Goethe. wish I could remember the word, but the notion is that openness to new ideas and new forms is a kind of genius unto itself.

That's the argument the extras on Big Bang Theory used last year to try to get a big raise (I don't know if it worked; wouldn't surprise me if it did as it came during the #metoo craze). But that's not how pay works in entertainment, which Trump surely knows.

Regardless, Trump probably took the biggest pay cut in the history of "public service" in the United States.

Which is unfair, considering that his tenure has been much more entertaining than any episode of The Apprentice.

DJT, we appreciate your sacrifice.

Lennon had one great dream song, the only Lennon post-Beatle song I like: "Number 9 Dream".

There are dreams based on nostalgia and so less likely harmful and more likely a pleasure to dwell on, as in the Moody Blues' "In Your Wildest Dreams"
