"Though you can get there through the Althouse portal."
You don't get an "althouse" link if you go in through the portal and then find the item (though you will be using the portal if you buy something).
To get a URL that has "althouse" in it (which you can see in the code), use the search box for the item and copy the first URL that you get to. If you do a second click, it won't be an "althouse" link.
Sorry to be way off topic, but as of yesterday, The Old Reader (which I use to follow RSS feeds of multiple blogs, including this one) stopped working for only this blog. When I tried to resubscribe, I get a 404 error for the feed. All other blogs are working fine, so I assume its an issue unique to this one? Just thought I'd mention it.
"Considering all trials, goats did not show a general tendency to interact more often with either the positive or the negative image, i.e. the probability of interacting with positive images is not different from 0.5."
Because the newsroom monoculture perceives that it is in their political interest to keep their supporters whipped up. In so doing they also whip up Trump’s base, which infuriates them. It becomes a feedback loop that builds up into a loud screech. Good news means hitting the off button on the screeching microphone, but they literally cannot resist.

Generally swarming bees pose little risk of getting stung as they have no hive to defend. In the middle of the swarm somewhere is a queen. We kept bees for a while but were no very successful. Theories abound but it was possibly the combination of an Italian hive with a Russian hive. (Joking)
"but no joke-- last nite I picked up 3 hives to start my new 'hobby'. WTF did I get myself into?"
First, it is like waffles, butter, and syrup. You are always short something, so you just keep adding more: hives, supers, wax.
Next, you gonna need an extractor, an electric decapping knife (not to be confused with a decapping die for a reloading press), and containers for the honey. Also a bee-tight area to extract in.
Be ready for the feeding frenzy if you put the extracted supers out in the field for the bees to clean.

Been a number of years - decades - but if memory serves: swarming bees will also have gorged with honey for a trip of indeterminate length to find a suitable new location. Thus they will be relatively sluggish and docile. Same as the alarm response to a little gentle smoking.

If you haven’t done so, find and join a local club. When we took our class at the Ag Extension, the club provided mentors to assist you and answer questions. I think most areas it’s too late for this year to establish a new hive successfully.
Much hilarity maybe ensue at your local post office if you get your queens and consorts by mail. Always a few hanger ons outside the cage. You will be instructed to come around to the back door to pick them up. Pro tip: pay the couple extra bucks to get the queens marked. Thank me later.
@ Hammond @Rick T. thanks for the tips- the hives were started by a 'bee-dude' and are under way. They seem to have a complex culture that I, as an Human-American, cant readily grasp. The suit will easily double as a B-movie 'Visitor From Outer Space' Halloween costume.

”Why can't all the news be like this?”
Because we don’t live in the land of milk and honey.
A few shark attacks would be good too.
No angle to blame Trump.
Goats hate downers.
"Why can't all the news be like this?"
Be careful what you wish for.
Feta cheese with bees with 4.2 GDP's. Be happy and eat mor chikin.

But thanks for trying!!
I write a blog about opossums. It got 322 pageviews last month.
Killer bees who illegally immigrated, no doubt

I assumed people knew how to go through the portal. Maybe I assume too much

Yes, but if you make a hot link as you did, they will assume it works as a portal link, but it doesn't. Better to put no link at all, then.
Fixed it.
The Chaos! Putin! Racism! narrative doesn't have enough room for happy goats.

"Goats interacted first, more often and for longer duration with positive faces when they were positioned on the right side.
However, no preference was found when the positive faces were placed on the left side."
So the goats were right-side extremists.

Hmmm.
That is great news about the goats!
Goats in general make me smile and laugh. I don't know why, but they are just amusing to me.
I would assume that most animals are attracted to happy people as opposed to angry people. Happy people would be more likely to treat you nicely.

Missing that sweet sweet "insect politics" tag...
In Spain goats are called barbacoa.
Goats, and bees and bugs better scurry
when I take you out in the surrey,
When I take you out in the surrey with the fringe on top

Thanks for reminding me to turn it back on.
Try it now.
Louis C.K. doesn't think these animals are happy.
"Why can't all the news be like this?"
Because the news publishers believe that sort of news doesn't put money in their pockets as well or as much as the Trump Outrage of the Day®.

I was able to subscribe now, thanks.
Oh, good. My RSS feed came back to life, too. Thanks!
The last time news was like this there were shark attacks and then 9/11.
No thank you.
The Dems are having a hive collapse since their Queen bee was knocked out.

The picture of the grinning goat reinforces my belief that goats are Satan.

So is the implication that happy people attract goats and unhappy people attract bees?

Can I substitute vaping for the smoker??
Why can't all news be as good as on Drudge? Because there's only ONE Drudge, and the enemedia just isn't smart enough.
