Magic Moments

Magic moments,
When two hearts are caring.
Magic moments,
Memories we've been sharing.

I'll never forget the moment we kissed,
The night of the hay ride --
The way that we hugged
To try to keep warm
While taking a sleigh ride.

The telephone call
That tied up the line
For hours and hours --

The Saturday dance
I got up the nerve
To send you some flowers.

Time can't erase
The memory of
These magic moments
Filled with love.

The way that we cheered
Whenever our team
Was scoring a touchdown --

The time that the floor
Fell out of my car
When I put the clutch down --

The penny arcade,
The games that we played,
The fun and the prizes --

The Halloween hop
When everyone came
In funny disguises --

Magic moments filled with love!

Hey Humperdink,
Did you get a Big Smokie? I spent many Carlisle events grilling dogs and sausages when my wife and I were starting out with youngsters and needed cash. Decent gig, but long 12 hour days. The Corvette folks always considered themselves the Carlisle 'elite', what with the car parade and such. There was a wreck on I-83 South below New Cumberland tonight, so I spent 25 minutes inching along amongst all the Corvettes on their way to the Fairgrounds. I was very happy we're OK moneywise, and I don't need to stand on gravel grilling meat for hours and hours.

There aren't that many songs where the lyrics and melody are perfectly wedded and achingly beautiful. I don't think much of her. She is a phony conservative, but she has the best chance of beating Kyrsten Sinema, a phony moderate and former Green Party candidate. Just got back up north, but the last couple days in PHX were pretty loud too. Even woke me up a time or two. My partner typically can't fall back asleep, so would be up from maybe 3 on. Unfortunately, 3 nights of that got her on a bad schedule, so she is up, and so am I, starting about 3 PDT (and MST). Hence my comment here. Fire season up here, with air quality ranging from 200 on up.

"Fundraiser for Martha McSally tomorrow night. She will win big,"

Keep hearing about the state turning purple, but mostly from the national press. Heard a lot of campaign ads while we were down south and the Republicans were all claiming to be Trump's best friend, and the Democrats hiding their party affiliation, so I don't think the state is all that ready to flip. McSally may be McCain Jr here, but Sheriff Joe is just plain scary. Did a good job as Sheriff, but his time is like big past. Last thing AZ needs is two appointed Senators (McCain's family announced yesterday that he is only going to accept palliative care from here out). And has Flake really been AWOL in Europe? No wonder nothing is getting done in the Senate with neither of AZ's two Republican Senators being available.

I am all for concealed carry (I have CCW licenses from 3 states), but if you are going to do so, you have to be serious about it. If not, it can be quite dangerous to you and people around you. So, for anyone interested in it, get the training first. And then keep it up.

Well, the Carlisle car show crowds are a unique bunch, with their golf carts and red pull wagon contraptions for their beer and buys. There was a guy there once with a home made low rider cart for hauling his stuff which was run over by some guy in a monster truck (the cart not the guy). That argument brought the Carlisle police. Old guys with 4 teeth in their heads but with wads of cash for buying NOS Chevy parts. Each particular show seems to have a particular demographic, Ford Nationals, Kit Car, Corvette, All Truck, and so on. Only the Spring and Fall events are family oriented, when most locals will go for the day. You used to be able to find some interesting stuff abandoned by the dealers on the last day, but the staff now police it up quickly and probably eBay it.

Was your race brought here against it's will? I imagine blacks are much more prone to marking it, for that reason, and most whites will carry on as always, unaware, oblivious, or dismissive that it even matters to someone.

"We are probably talking a decade for my Hayden ancestor."

I'm betting on the tried and true combination of oblivious and dismissive.

@Todd. Yeah the Corvette owners are a unique bunch, although I wouldn't lump them all into the elite, snobby category. Same with those possessing a private pilot certificate (of which I am one). You run into quite of few of those there also, but on the whole, the people are quite nice.

When I was restoring mine, dealing with the used parts gang was especially enjoyable.

One thing I noticed was the crowd size in Carlisle continues to be down. It appears to have never recovered from 2007/08 economic downturn.

And that does no include the offspring of black parents who came to the US long after slavery and Jim Crow.

In fact, black immigrant population here in the US has quadrupled since 1980.

These black immigrants are flocking to the US in order to escape the s***holes that the Crack Emcee's in other nations have created.

The urination story is a hoax. From MLive Media:

By John Tunison

jtunison@mlive.com

GRAND RAPIDS, MI -- A story about a white man urinating on a 5-year-old black child and calling her a racial slur was fabricated, Michigan police said.

Grand Rapids police and prosecutors late Friday said they determined the story was not valid and said no charges would be issued against a 60-year-old man arrested following the initial report on Wednesday.

Police said several children, all 7 or younger, were playing together sometime before 6 p.m. Wednesday when one of the children urinated on the 5-year-old girl.

Kent County prosecutors said the parents of the children, in talking with them, ultimately determined the children "concocted the story to avoid trouble."

"We appreciate the conscientiousness of the parents in bringing the matter to the attention of the police, and continuing to ask their children questions as new evidence was obtained," prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said the 60--year-old man had a "verifiable alibi" from other people who vouched for his whereabouts.

Crack appears to be very very upset that blacks from around the world are fighting to get into this country.

I don't blame Crack for that really.

When those hard chargers come and take advantage of the astonishing opportunities America provides it destroys Crack's talking points and makes him look bad.

So, not only did whites oppress Crack personally for over 400 years, but whites are STILL oppressing Crack by allowing in other blacks who make Crack look bad!

Whites are very sneaky that way.....or is it the just the jooooooooooos? I can never quite make out the specific complaints of the race hustlers these days. They tend to conflate arguments and demands while butchering actual history so it becomes a Demand-Filled Tower of Babel.

Odds and Ends
Sung by Dionne Warwick

Your pillow wasn't slept upon
Your closet was empty, too
All of your shirts and ties were gone
There wasn't a trace of you
How could you go and leave so completely?
Nothing was left of all the memories that we used to share
Just an empty tube of toothpaste
And a half-filled cup of coffee
Odds and ends of a beautiful love affair
At least you could have said goodbye
You shouldn't have to run away
Were you afraid that I would cry?
My tears might have made you stay
Gone are the dreams that kept us together
Nothing was left to show that we were once so happy then
Just an empty tube of toothpaste
And a half-filled cup of coffee
Odds and ends of a beautiful love affair
How could you go and leave so completely?
Nothing was left of all the memories that we used to share
Just an empty tube of toothpaste
And a half-filled cup of coffee
Odds and ends of a beautiful love affair

Black immigrants. Yes, square that circle. While seemingly snark, this is such a raw truism. Some have a vested interest in racial division, Al Sharpton, Obama's pastor for 20+ years (Wright?), Rev Jackson, The Congressional Black Caucus, etal. But like so many other things, better than anything else that exists. The flaws of the United States are many, and storied, and with all that disfunction, it is without debate, the best system of governance on the planet, with more opportunity for for every single citizen. With an open border system for any person that wishes to leave and find their own utopia. That's the difference between the left and the right. The left lectures that "you didn't build that", "there is no such thing as American Exceptionalism" "it takes a village" (as long as that village is a massive centralized government that can not be managed)
Yes there is room for improvement, always is. Just look at what President Trump as done in less than 2 years. All in the face of opposition that would have paralyzed
any other person.

Has Serena thanked the US for providing the opportunity to be afflicted with first-world problems?

Considering her dedication, commitment to excellence, tremendous work ethic and her smarts, I'll bet she has.

For what its worth I think pro-tennis should have a group of younger players provide input on uniforms to make changes that are "cool".
