I also note that gay individuals were able to sue a cake baker after he declined to decorate it to their specifications (which included biblical verses edited to be blasphemous to a devout Christian), yet the owner of the Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, VA, threw Sarah Sanders out of her restaurant because LGBT members of her staff were uncomfortable serving her party. While Trump is loose with his improvisational discussions, he did make a living in real estate which is governed by contracts. People work hard to make clear what words mean in contracts since ambiguities can cause expensive disputes. Perhaps he deliberately chooses to use ambiguous words to create a disruption, and retain the option to move to a less disruptive position later. Sort of like the common political test of running a proposal up the flagpole to test the response, before everyone gets behind the proposal.; 7/19/18, 11:59 PM

So much of modern life is in decline.......I saw the movie Red Sparrow. The whole concept of using Bolshoi ballerinas as secret KGB agents is genius in my estimation, but that's probably just in the movies. I saw that video the other day. Clearly, he is putting on very heavy disguises to deal with his problem of recognizablity. But I didn't say it was dumb of Palin not to immediately see through the visual disguise. She sat for a long interview with him, that included a lot of ridiculous, disrespectful material and there was also the voice and the comic's style of conversation (which Trump immediately saw through, back when Cohen wasn't a famous face). The heavier the disguise, the harder it is to see who's under it, but the easier it is to see that this is somebody in a phony getup. It was dumb to be fooled by the whole thing, for a long time.

I do understand Palin going on the offensive, but it just doesn't work on me, because she's a powerful person (an appropriate target for comedy), she should be smart (considering that she stood ready to inflict herself on us as the back-up President), and her going offensive makes me think that Cohen got her to say things that she's embarrassed by. She did not have to say those things, whatever they were.

By the way, she says she trusted her own people who set up the interview. Well, they should have been more careful and competent! Why is this person who ran for Vice President hiding behind the incompetence of the people she chose to rely on? Trump doesn't understand the Fed. It's not raising interest rates but withdrawing money from the money supply, because at the rate money's being used it's asking the economy to do more at once than the economy can do. So the Fed sells debt and extinguishes the dollars it gets.

If it leaves the dollars in the economy, the economy doesn't do more, it just raises the prices of what it already does, to match the dollars to the capability. Inflation, in other words.; 7/20/18, 5:57 AM
