LeBron needs to avoid a sweep. It’s difficult to compare players across eras except in Free Throw Percentage. But getting swept in the Finals is embarrassing in all eras.
A shout-out to Ali Watkins, the New York Times reporter who cultivated her source the old-fashioned way, by sleeping with him. The First Amendment commented, "I couldn't be prouder."
duh why do that when the Jews have show us the most near infinite my contemplation goes perfect thing to ever watch and indoctrinate others into: Supreme Chosen Graceful Powerful Beauty.
I'm guessing the "Althouse Alehouse" open thread grew out of Meade's home brewing adventures. Ales are often the first venture of the dilettante cervesarius because they're more forgiving regarding fermentation temperature and pH. Lagers and pilseners are tougher to regulate successfully, so they demand more experience from the brewer. Meads and lambics are a whole other subject.
Will there be a Meade's Mead in the future? A word of caution: mead isn't cheap to make and it takes months to mature in the bottle. However, if you've got the cash for 15 pounds of honey and lots of time, it's worth it. Makes you want to pillage some helpless serfs.
Hubby and I watched for the first time Ken Burns The Story I of US. I learned by the time of the Revomutionary War, we were 2” taller than The English, healthier, outbreeding them by 2 children 10-8 and more of our children lived.
Look at that G7 photo. The tall ones are Trump and Trudeau, the North Americans.
Trump needs to shed Giuliani as soon as decently possible. For awhile during the campaign Giuliani was a spokesman for Trump – and he was disastrous. He was hesitant, seemingly defensive when there was no need and displayed little knowledge of the issues. I thought then that age had gotten to him and I was glad when he disappeared from the cables. But now he pops up again.
Any discussion I’ve seen about Trump’s tariffs has been against the tariffs. What I never see is ANY discussion on how the critics would eliminate the huge trade deficit that the USA has. If not for being totally predictable it would be amusing.
On the arrest of Wolfe for apparently thousands of leaks and the seizing of the reporter’s phone contents, I am fine with the government’s actions because classified government secrets were leaked. I want anyone leaking classified information to be prosecuted to the fullest extent and all legal means to get evidence is OK with me.
That the reporter fucked him to get the scoops is an amusing side story. Whores, almost all of them – but then we knew that, didn’t we? So we are amused instead of shocked or surprised. I’m picturing an attractive young woman on the street in front of the NYT holding up a sign: WILL FUCK FOR INFO. Prediction: Less leaks in our near future.
The NFL seems to be heading for another season of financial losses because of the anthem controversy. Trump amuses himself with an occasional bludgeoning of the NFL whenever he’s in the mood. The NFL has only one way out. It will have to stop the controversy to the satisfaction of the Trump or it will continue to lose money.
I’m hoping they continue to mollify the anthem desecrators. Why? Amusement again. It amuses me to see those arrogant bastards made to suffer.
“This morning a female inmate came to us from Emmanuel County State Pen,” the sheriff’s office said. “Per policy we searched her and pulled this out of her, uhhhh birth canal.”
If anyone has trouble sleeping at night, I have a remedy:
1. Vigorous 4 mile hike with dog in Berkeley Hills in hot sun, 5-6 pm 2.,Drink 2 pitchers of beer with guy friends while watching Warriors clinch championship, 6-8 pm 3. Come home, plop down on comfortable couch 9 pm
“LeBron needs to avoid a sweep. It’s difficult to compare players across eras except in Free Throw Percentage. But getting swept in the Finals is embarrassing in all eras.”
LeBron now “basically” played with a broken hand. The PR machine is up and running to push the taking points to his fan base.
“People are looking for a unifier right now, and despite all the grief he took over his intern problem, he has actually had a lot of successes and a lot of people are still grateful to him,” said Peters, quickly adding that Clinton needs to be “more forthcoming and contrite about his experience with Monica Lewinsky.”
But each candidate is going to “feel differently” about whether they want Clinton in their corner. As for Hillary Clinton, Peters said, he’d walk through his district with his arm around her, telling people, “I told you so, I told you so, I told you so,” because Trump is creating chaos.
Yes. Trump's Tweets are creating chaos, God knows that Minnesota, for example, doesn't want Trump disrupting the delicate balance of trade giveaways negotiated over the years. But the point is that Clinton unaccountably took a lot of grief, so tragically, because Republicans pounced, he has to deal with the one issue of sexual harassment we think we can plea bargain down. Monica Lewinsky. All of the other victims are strictly out of the discussion, and to even bring them up would be beyond the pale for a country with a free press like ours.

I think that Giuliani is doing more good than bad for Trump right now. Trump needs to keep the pressure up on Mueller, the Dems, and the Deep State, but has too much on his plate to do a good job himself. They are still attacking him, distracting him, etc, as he is trying to get the business of the country done. This week, he meets with the G7, where he pushes to bring Putin back in and to eliminate tariffs, then leaves early to fly halfway around the world to meet with the North Koreans, trying to solve that 65 year old problem. While earlier driving another nail in the Obamacare coffin, and proving VA relief. Plus 4.5% growth heading into the midterms. Easily doing more in a week than Obama would do in a couple of months.
The corruption that is the Deep State and was the Obama DoJ thrives in secrecy and silence. The bureaucracy knows that they just have to drag their feet long enough, and their enemies will give up, or be replaced with the next Administration. If they can drag this out through the election this Nov., they will, hopefully (on their part, but not on most of ours) be in the clear, when the obstructionist Adam Schiff replaces Devin Nunes chairing the HPSIC, etc.
This is where Giuliani comes in. Yes, he is a loose cannon like Trump. But that means here that the MSM, and esp the news networks can't ignore him, just like they can't ignore Trump, no matter how desperately they want to. They are just too entertaining. I think that he has taken the initiative away from Mueller. Much of Trump world knows that Mueller getting ready for his Hail Mary, trying to depose the President, trying desperately to generate something, anything, right before the election. If Mueller still tries to do that, much of Trump world will already know that it is a desperate, totally BS, highly unethical, move that will most likely fail. And drive up Republican turnout in Nov (which is looking to be higher than Dem turnout already, despite the #Resistance). This is looking to be the biggest govt scandal of the last at least half century, greatly exceeding Watergate, and the left and the MSM (obviously redundant here) are desperately trying to distract the public from it. Giuliani makes that impossible.
It looks to me that "the Mueller investigation" so far has uncovered a lot more rot and misdeeds by the Obama Administration and its holdovers than in the 2016 Trump campaign. 10 to 1, or so?

Respectfully, it looks to me that the MSM is doing the opposite of ignoring Giuliani. Hardly a couple of days go by without Giuliani being highlighted by the MSM for something stupid that Giuliani has said.
As for Mueller’s initiative, if that has been retarded it hasn’t been due to Giuliani but rather to Trump himself. A good spokesperson has to appear confident and knowledgeable. In the sound bites I’ve viewed Giuliani seems to be neither. Furthermore I’ve seen no indication that Trump is a “loose cannon.” Trump is a “cannon” for sure in the sense that he constantly bombards the MSM, the Democrats and the elite GOP in Congress. But loose? The targets of his tweets seem well defined, strategic and obvious.

Part of it is his style of play vs. Curry. Curry is so damned dangerous from the outside, half the team has to be out there covering him. Gets lonely underneath the basket, which is good for Curry's larger teammates. But Lebron, even though he's got respectable outside game for a man his size, really thrives near the hoop. So it stays crowded underneath there. He'd make a guy like Steve Kerr look like Steve Kerr. Cleveland needs more dangerous outside threats to vanquish their opponents.

I invite all Leftist Collectivists to start the discussion.

By Saint Theresa, I'm ecstatic for that brew.
Nun’s Oath Ale? Hmmmmmm...
I've got it! Anal Nose Hut!
Trump proposes that G7 to lower all tariffs between them to zero. What a great opening move.

My Danish neighbor served me a low-alcohol homebrew tonight. Really good. Who needs to travel?
LeBron's game is wrong for this era.
LeBron's hops is wrong for this brew.
Brew is the word of the night.

Warriors! Oakland deserves a few victories in the game of life!

All the hard work that Obama put in is finally starting to pay off.
The problem was many of those leaks were at best incomplete. At worst outright lies. Like painting carter page as a russian spy.

James is a great player, but his teammates are not on the same level as the teammates of Durant and Curry.
James is a great player but not a great teammate, that's why Kyrie Irving went to Boston after last year.

And we keep hearing he “doesn’t understand free trade”...

Jordan was really tough on teammates until Scottie Pippen entered the picture. It also helped that he had a coach who was good at managing big egos.
