I am looking forward to this summer. I wanna work out more, bbq more, go on more hikes, watch my kid's football practices, watch my other kid's beach volleyball camp, play more guitar, and write more.

Michael K: question re Miss America. Do pageants make any sense anymore? If getting rid of the swimsuit competition and renaming it a competition and otherwise undermining the event ruins it, is that bad? The corporations that own it lose some money for doing something stupid, if this is indeed stupid.
The pageant itself is a strange, retrograde spectacle to me to see women parading around play-acting a bygone form of male-gaze inspired femininity. Ball gowns, bathing suits, talents, answering usually silly questions--it really is weird. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But if you want to see hot chicks in bathing suits, there's the Victoria's Secret televised fashion show. Much better looking since entry is based on a narrower set of talents, making the contestants very well suited indeed for the spectacle. Women in ball gowns can be found in society pages, and talented women are all over the other competitions on TV. Women answering silly questions...the View? The Real? It's definitely getting harder and harder to find a woman wearing a crown, which is the crowning moment of that strange spectacle. But that princess crap isn't all that cool anyway.

I've never really paid attention but I have read that the women in the programs thought they got a lot of benefit.
Four Otterbein University professors suggest that women may be averse to STEM fields because they feel they work harder than male students without earning higher grades.
After conducting a study of 828 students in STEM classes, the professors discovered that while women felt they put more effort into their classes than men, they received approximately equivalent grades, which “indicates that women's higher perceived effort levels are not rewarded."
The media is running fast away from a story about women engineers.
In an apparent attempt to connect women executives to the accident, the stories use a legitimate quote from Leonor Flores, a female project executive for MCM, that was published in a story on Florida International University’s website before the collapse.
Flores, who is a university alumna, spoke of sharing her line of work with her 12-year-old daughter as they watched the installation of the 950-ton pedestrian bridge, which was intended to connect the university’s campus and the city of Sweetwater.
“It’s very important for me as a woman and an engineer to be able to promote that to my daughter because I think women have a different perspective,” Flores said. “We’re able to put in an artistic touch and we’re able to build too.”

Well, obviously I disagree. You can certainly pull up the same sorts of plot nits in the original Trilogy, (as with "Empire" screenwriter Brackett's "The Big Sleep); you just have to be carried along. (And Han always spoke Wookie without explanation).
Jim:
I wish for every Hollywood movie to tank at the box office.
Not me. I like movies. If SWJ-ness ruins the movie itself, that's too bad -- otherwise, I don't really care if the cast and producers are ruining *themselves* with SWJ-ness.

Putin is a wily bastard. It is clear he colluded with Trump for some reason to lower taxes and lower un employment across the board, especially for black, brown and women. Drudge says more job openings than available workers. Not sure of the long range repercussions but most certainly something bad will come of it.
Does he, now? Well, well, and what is the proffer? This isn't Obama Time, you don't get immunity for bupkes anymore. He's gonna have to cough up someone bigger than himself.
By the XLTs instead...they’re cut longer and cost the same
Yeah, but do they cost the same as cheap polos? I have never seen XLTs in stores, but usually if I buy polos at Nordstroms, or whatever, they are long enough.
My latest discovery on polos is to wear a wife-beater under it. I feel like they look better for some reason.

I think Miss Congeniality (Sandra Bullock) had a beauty contest plot. A boyfriend somehow emerged out of it.

-Job openings outnumber unemployed for the first time since records have been kept. (began in 2000)...
ABC Roseanne replacement comedy-drama pilot idea: Masterpiece Cakeshop Theatre
"if you accept the “Labor Theory of Value.”
you can watch Tim Allen making one and conclude how one toothpick is as valuable as truckload of them.
Drago:
Unknown: "Saw "Solo" last night. I was expecting something awful, but it's really a good movie."
The movie was terrible.
RE: Mitch McConnell [@SenateMajLdr ] canceling the August Recess here
You know you're coastie
When the beauty pageant isn't about beauty
When football isn't about football
When diversity and inclusion on the show Roseanne doesn't include the person Roseanne, even as diversity.
and it all looks good to you
Hey!! It's almost seven back east, and we haven't heard any leaks from the closed door testimony.
Putin is a wily bastard. It is clear he colluded with Trump for some reason to lower taxes and lower un employment across the board, especially for black, brown and women. Drudge says more job openings than available workers.
Not sure of the long range repercussions but most certainly something bad will come of it.

Any Dems in the room?
Why do they hate men so much that most of their shirts are too short?
Almost all of my polos are too short even in the XL catagory
FIDO,
L.L.Bean Tall shirts are plenty long enough. Much longer than Land’s End Tall shirts, for instance.
McCabe now wants immunity.

LOL
"nits"
I prefer "vast swaths of nonsense and incoherence"
Does he, now? Well, well, and what is the proffer? This isn't Obama Time, you don't get immunity for bupkes anymore. He's gonna have to cough up someone bigger than himself.
The marketplace has already rendered its judgement on "Solo".
It's an absolute hot mess disaster for Disney.
Disney has decided it's purpose in life is the destruction of franchises.
Because of course it is...
Marshall Rose: "McCabe now wants immunity."
Careful now.
You are liable to "trigger" our #StrongDurbinBlumenthalDefender LLR Chuck with that kind of observation.
McCabe now wants immunity.
Well, why is Cheryl Mills any better than him?
Almost all of my polos are too short even in the XL catagory
Well, you have to shop around and be willing to part with some money.
Almost all of my polos are too short even in the XL category
By the XLTs instead...they're cut longer and cost the same.
”McCabe now wants immunity.”
Who would trust him?
By the XLTs instead...they’re cut longer and cost the same
Yeah, but do they cost the same as cheap polos? I have never seen XLTs in stores, but usually if I buy polos at Nordstroms, or whatever, they are long enough.
My latest discovery on polos is to wear a wife-beater under it. I feel like they look better for some reason.
OM: "Who would trust him?"
LLR Chuck, certainly. Unless the dems pull the old switcheroo, in which case LLR Chuck wouldnt.
Pay close attention to what Maddow is saying for an early heads up on LLR Chucks next "principled" position....
LOL
How about not having a big fat gut?
It is less the gut and more the shoulders.
Do you know the difference between male fashion and men's fashion? (of course you don't)
Muscles.
So I can see why most male designers do 'male fashion' and not 'men's' fashion: they don't know the difference either.
