At the Be Café...

IMG_2109

... be talking all night.

And remember the Althouse Portal to Amazon.

I took the photo on State Street here in Madison today. It just seems to be some random graffiti on an old display case.

New word for me that explains a lot of the LLC hatred for Trump.

Saw it in this good article that explains why Trump won.

Trump used Alinsky’s Rule make the other side play by their own rules, when he tweeted about not getting a call from Disney’s Iger apologizing for how ABC treated him.

One of Trumps best tweets ever.

I enjoy tremendously how he trolls the media showing their bias. More pointing out how the Emperor is wearing no Clothes.

Beautifully done.

The big news among pro-lifers for the week was Ireland voting to liberalize its abortion laws. "Liberalize" is perhaps too mild a word to describe what happened, since Ireland had mostly a blanket ban on abortion. This was seen as quite a set-back & a loss among the pro-life community, Ireland supposedly being so Catholic & all (it really isn't any more).

But, sneaking in on the side, not as an exercise in democracy but as an act of top-down fiat, was an announcement that would save more babies in a year than Ireland could abort in a decade even if they worked hard at it: China announced the end of its government-enforced limitations on family size.

China's "One Child" policy was an exercise in population control & eugenics whose profound cruelty the world has yet to fully comprehend, like much else in modern Chinese history. China & perhaps the world will suffer from its misguided policies for at least another generation. That Chinese couples now can decide for themselves this most private & personal of decisions is a momentous victory for human dignity on our planet.

”Be There”

I don’t know where there is, but I’m doing my best to be here (and, so far, I’m succeeding).

I'm waiting for the "be square" cafe. Would that be for Ritmo, who told us he had gone all the way through BSA?

"had gone all the way through BSA?"

Whoa, not that square.

No, that's actually pretty cool. Don't they learn how to do something for each of the little badges? That's a lot of things.

Big deal. There are an awful lot of us who have done that.

The tragedy of the Irish vote is that it was a vote, not something handed down by their betters. Shameful. As far as I know there is no other country on earth that voted for abortion.

But something tells me Ritmo don't need no stinkin' badges.

On May 26, this blog had an article titled While his wife, the actress Cheryl Hines, waited in the car, Robert Kennedy Jr. met with Sirhan for three hours.... There, in a series of comments, I provided a series of articles that I wrote and that were published on the Rantburg website in 2004. My Rantburg series of articles was titled Aristotle Onassis, the Palestinian Fatah, and Sirhan Sirhan and was based largely on a book that was written by Peter Evans and that was titled Nemesis: The True Story of Aristotle Onassis, Jackie O, and the Love Triangle That Brought Down the Kennedys.

I did not simply link to the Rantburg six-part series of articles, because Parts 2-5 had become difficult to access since 2004, when they were published.

In recent days, however, I have managed to access the entire series and have copied it into the comments section of the Althouse blog article about Cheryl Hines waiting in her car.

I think that anybody here (except Quaestor) will find my series of articles about the RFK assassination to be interesting.

That's actually a positive consideration for every other country. The democratic support for elective abortion may have been justified when people were ignorant and in denial, and before science confirmed their delusions, but not today. The social progress of abortion rites, and the "Choice" that denies women's franchise (and comprehension), in the general population is evidence of widespread dysfunction. That said, the normalization of abortion rites (for the wholly innocent) is an unprecedented violation of human rights. The Planned Parenthood protocol increases risk to both mother and child, increases the probability of dodo dynasties, forces progressive and redistributed medical costs, and there is evidence of social contamination through normalizing activities.

Haha

I only saw The Stones of the three, July 1975, Chicago Stadium, 13th row center. Cost me $100 for two tickets...which doesn't sound like much but $465.70 in today's dollars, alot for a senior in HS making $4/hr pumping gas part time.

I have a ticket stub from Deep Purple’s 1974 show in Madison. I feel superannuated, being old enough to be Freeman’s mom’s age.

The wife of Warrior superstar, Steph Curry, has a restaurant in SF called International Smoke. Went there for dinner tonight. Delicious, but very loud music. Hard to converse. Also, pretty steep. $175 shekels for 2 (including tip). But, the food is delicious. Go Warriors!

That's their crafty way of keeping eyes on him..(cough, cough)

narciso,
I think in the excerpts I've heard of Gowdy, he uses a preface like "based on what I've seen, ..."
So..unlike that upright Comey dude of curtain embeds, he may be using weasel words.

Harvey Weinstein's recent perp walk reminds me of another great thing about Trump winning the election: Hillary Clinton isn't president.

A New York Times article on Weinstein's court appearance noted how the "ground shifted" last year, finally ending the "code of silence" surrounding powerful men. Why "last year," if this has been going on for decades?

The article explained that Weinstein's power was enormous, his connections extensive and his willingness to play dirty without bounds. Did Harvey lose his money and connections "last year"?

Nope. But "last year" was the first year of Trump's presidency, or as I like to think of it, the first year of Hillary not being president. Ever.

The liberal protection racket for sexual predators was always intimately intertwined with the Clintons. The template used to defend Bill Clinton became a model for all left-wing sexual predators.

In awful news for the Althouse Amazon Portal the Australian Government has tried to get Amazon to collect GST of 10% on sales to Australia, and AMazon has booted us to a sandpit called Amazon.com.au and doesn't remember the first link we clicked.

I apologise for the low quality of Australian politicians and public servants.
