In the last few months, I've become acquainted with at least two women who do not want children. In fact, they are so adamant that they demand that their male pursue a vasectomy......and then walking away from the relationship when the male refuses to accept a vasectomy.

We really need to start cutting education budgets. They aren't learning anything good!

Ten years ago, I seriously contemplated voting for Hillary Clinton. I eventually swallowed my vomit and voted for McCain.

I had no idea of the horror that could have been unleashed. Really.

I just looked up a friend who was a few years older than I am, only to find he died a month ago. He was a great and funny guy who had a very successful career in the insurance business.

We were fishing and hunting buddies. Long ago.

We were pheasant hunting the weekend of Kennedy's funeral. I heard Oswald shot on the radio as we were driving from one field to another.

John was such a great guy. His brother,Ernie, who I never met, survives him. Ernie managed a hotel in Bermuda. He took his future wife on a date. She was a BOAC stewardess She said he and they went out to dinner, then drove to a beach. She said he reached his arm over here and she thought he was about to put it around her but he was reaching into the back seat to get his fishing rod.

He went surf fishing for an hour while she waited.

God what good times those were !

I am angry that I finally tracked him down only to find he left us a month ago.

I tracked down another old friend, a former Air Force pilot and medical school classmate a week or two ago. He is fine and had his 85th birthday. He was asked to volunteer for the Astronaut program in the 60s and he said hell no !

Tomorrow is one son's last day of school. Every day when I pick him up, I talk to a grandfather who is there to pick up his grandson. He used to work for the National Park Service. I am really going to miss those conversations.

CNN gave Nancy Pelosi a 2 hour pretend Town Hall. The DEM written questions were read by college kids. One did ask why Mueller has shown no collusion evidence on Trump yet. Nancy said that is a secret Investigation. Asked then, what if she had seen any collusion evidence she again said if she knew any, she could not disclose it. Anderson Cooper quickly asked why not give a preliminary report. Nancy said that she supported Mueller doing things his way.

I wonder how many people CNN thinks that show tricked. Desperate Nancy made JEB! look energetic in comparison to her frozen face.

Freeman, nice image. Very sweet. I have a hunch your friend the grandfather will miss those conversations just as much as you will.

Michael, I'm sorry and have sympathy for your sudden loss. I've recently been there. It hurts, I know.

Wishing you all a safe and reflective Memorial Day weekend. And thanks for all you've contributed to the never ending conversation of this blog.

A SON SPEAKS OUT By Moses Farrow
May 23, 2018

A lengthy, detailed, devastating account of how Woody Allen was viciously framed by Mia Farrow for committing a horrible crime he didn't do.

It certainly rings true.

Excerpt:

'...Along with five kids, there were three adults in the house, all of whom had been told for months what a monster Woody was. None of us would have allowed Dylan to step away with Woody, even if he tried. Casey’s nanny, Alison, would later claim that she walked into the TV room and saw Woody kneeling on the floor with his head in Dylan’s lap on the couch. Really? With all of us in there? And if she had witnessed that, why wouldn’t she have said something immediately to our nanny Kristi? (I also remember some discussion of this act perhaps taking place on the staircase that led to Mia’s room. Again, this would have been in full view of anyone who entered the living room, assuming Woody managed to walk off with Dylan in the first place.) The narrative had to be changed since the only place for anyone to commit an act of depravity in private would have been in a small crawl space off my mother’s upstairs bedroom. By default, the attic became the scene of the alleged assault.

In her widely-circulated 2014 open letter in The New York Times, the adult Dylan suddenly seemed to remember every moment of the alleged assault, writing, “He told me to lay on my stomach and play with my brother’s electric train set. Then he sexually assaulted me. He talked to me while he did it, whispering that I was a good girl, that this was our secret, promising that we’d go to Paris and I’d be a star in his movies. I remember staring at that toy train, focusing on it as it traveled in its circle around the attic. To this day, I find it difficult to look at toy trains.”

It’s a precise and compelling narrative, but there’s a major problem: there was no electric train set in that attic. There was, in fact, no way for kids to play up there, even if we had wanted to. It was an unfinished crawl space, under a steeply-angled gabled roof, with exposed nails and floorboards, billows of fiberglass insulation, filled with mousetraps and droppings and stinking of mothballs, and crammed with trunks full of hand-me-down clothes and my mother’s old wardrobes.'

Compelling Ronan Farrow reading material.

(And perhaps, compelling AA blogging material.)

This shows how important it is to fish whenever you can; never put off fish til tomorrow, that you can be catching today: tomorrow doesn't always come.

Wlliam A. Jacobson, Legal Insurrection: "On Saturday morning, April 28, 2018, I woke up to an email in my inbox from Amazon Associates telling me our participation in the program was terminated, our account closed, that the decision was final and there was no appeal. On top of that, Amazon was holding back any accumulated money it owed us.

There was no prior indication of a problem, or chance to cure. It’s always been our intent to comply with the program requirements."

i suppose the Safe Thing To Do, if you're a guy;
is to NOT start having an affair with one of your girlfriend's children a week or two after adopting some of here other children
(woody's timeline; mia say that he'd started the affair Before the adoption)

Heck, just like there's the rule that you shouldn't date your best friend's ex; maybe there should be a rule that you shouldn't date your ex's children (they could call it, i don't know, maybe Leviticus 18:17)

They got demanding with me recently but I think, once I interacted with them, that it was all just about getting the technical legal language in the sidebar. I would suspect, before any political agenda, that they are just fussy about things that they see as relevant to avoiding lawsuits.
