"Not to jump to any conclusions, but doesn't a quick look of the background in the shooter's YouTube video make you think of the background in Obama's official portrait?"
Here, by Oh Yea. Scroll up to see the still image of the YouTube self-murderer. And here's Obama's official portrait.
ADDED: I've written about the concept of good trolls before, most notably a month and a half ago, in "Who are the good trolls?" Here are the results of the poll I did back there:
ALSO: The last option on that poll actually read — in the originally poll you see at the link — "A good troll knows how to take the bait Althouse serves and whip it into a delightful new concoction."

Great comment, but I don't see why you would label this as trolling.
"Good trolling" is Orwellian.
@Ignorance -- read the post linked in the update above and the poll options given there.
Some of this is definitional.
Just as RuPaul said if we're not naked, we're in drag, I think if we aren't X, we're trolls.
Troll pride. It's like what we hippies did with "freak" 50 years ago.
By the way, did you notice the photogenically positioned troll doll on the shelf over Roseanne's sink? Roseanne is a good troll. And I've got to do my "Roseanne" magnum opus, so don't make me have to come in here.
The term "troll" is misused and misunderstood.
A troll is not someone who expresses a contrary or minority opinion.
The Left oftentimes labels a conservative as a troll in order to ban them.
What does OED say a troll is?
tcrosse is too mature to be a troll.
Another morning when coming over to Althouse is more than amply rewarded.
This woman also has a weird finger thing going on, but it's not a double pinkie like Obama.
Looks like she's missing her pinkie altogether and has two trigger fingers.
"What does OED say a troll is?"
The OED needs to catch up with usage by including a quote from althouse.blogspot.com.
The interesting thing is how someone retains knowledge of the background of a portrait like that. I could not have told you what the portrait looked like -- even though I did see it months ago, and looked somewhat carefully.
Ignorance is Bliss,
It is designed to elicit an overreaction, in this case from Obama supporters and LLRs, who are hurriedly deleting their responses.
Who can turn the world on with a smile ?
Who can take a nothing day and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile ?

#MeToo, except for the "great" part.
The background is obviously based on Trump's anti-Semitic 6-pointed star, but it reminded me of someone on Drudge a couple of days ago who was wearing a dress with a computer-inflected pattern.
"Who can turn the world on with a smile ?"
Coca-cola? Dracula?
When I looked at the still the first thing I noticed was the stars are six-pointed, like the Jewish Star.
I Googled 'Iranian star symbol' to see if this particular star was related to any Iranian symbology. Nothing like that in the first several dozen images (except for the blue star of the flag of Israel).
There were a few patterns that were two squares superimposed at a 45-degree angle, which did make me thing of Persian rug patterns.
So I Googled Persian rug patterns to see what I could see.
No six-point stars. But several variations of eight-point stars (much like the superimposed squares).
Also, regarding her video background: green, in the flag of Iran, represents Islam.
So I wonder if she just thought the stars were just a good graphic element.
But I don't think symbols came lightly to her.
So maybe they represented TWO love triangles, one inverted over the other.
Which means we need to be on the look-out for five other people.
Who may or may not be vegans.
Vegans with guns.
The Germans have a word for this.
While watching the video - all I could think about was the Four Organs music from the April 1 post. The tones in the background of the video were just repeated throughout - I don't know if it was her video or the news agency that created it.
A good troll is worth his weight in gold.
Vegans with guns.
Still worse: Las Vegans with guns.
I need some here. Could someone, anyone, give me a comprehensive definition of a troll?
Is it a relentless commenter who get rewarded by the volume of pixels? Some idiot who continues to go off topic? Someone who makes over-the-top comments just to get a reaction?
I am confused.
I'm not clear on how troll is defined here either.
Once again OhYeah ruins the curve for the rest of us.
Suck up.

I don't know but it will have the name "Chuck" or "Inga" in there somewhere. you'll know it when you see it.
At it's best, trolling is a weapon against tyrants and would-be tyrants who would stifle free speech, whether the tyrant is a person, a small group of elites, mob opinion, or SJWs and their SVU butthurt crybullies.
A good troll uses mock ignorance, feigned sincerity, reductio ad absurdum, and sarcasm to ridicule prevailing wisdom, daring to commit lèse-majesté, drawing mustaches on those who would rule over them, killing their sacred cows
Trolls carry on the tradition of Socrates, Diogenes, and Ambrose Bierce, performing a beneficial service by opposing power when they believe that power is in the wrong.
Main stream press realizing that the shooter was a California-based vegan, human rights and PETA-activist, non-NRA member, immigrant woman of color from the middle east who was convinced she was a victim of discrimination -- kind of like when Dorothy threw the bucket of water on the wicked witch.
Can a troll troll without a trollee?
"Can a troll troll without a trollee?"
You can go fishing or hunting and come home empty-handed
Using all those Stars of David is the dog whistle here, and shows that she's really trying to blame the Jews, who as is well known in some circles, secretly control all Media worldwide, including youTube. It's right there in the Protocols. Obama would not have gone as far, but he would have understood her point.
A troll is someone who voices an opinion that you do not agree with. You don't want to engage with that opinion so you just label that person a troll.
One man's Inga is another man's Shouting Thomas.
It is all about where you fall on the Spectrum.
For example this Mary character who posts here and is immediately deleted is much more cogent and interesting than 90% of the people who post comments at Althouse. Yet she is deleted immediately. Instead of engaging with her comments she is made into a non person when if she would be allowed to contribute it would greatly lift the conversation at this blog.
There are many who were labeled trolls who were banished or left this place. An famous example was Maxine Weiss who was ubiquitous in the early years of this place. She was labeled a troll but was in fact consistently entertaining and funny.
Other so called trolls were expunged in the various blood lettings that have happened over the years. This place is ripe for another such explosion.
According to the poll, the sole role of a troll is to be droll, or that's his goal.
langford peel
Would you say troll evolution is affected by punctuated opprobrium?
I don't accept terming commenters trolls or Mobys. It is all just opinion. Deal with the words not the labels.
It is true that people who get labeled as trolls do act out more. Ritmo is a prime example. He is labeled a troll when he is an interesting and erudite guy. There are several former commenters who are examples such as Luckyoldson and Jeremy. It is true that some like Chuck revel in the opprobrium. Since most of the commenters are conservatives these liberals are often labeled as trolls. When in fact they are just giving opinions. Stupid hack opinions bathed in conventional liberal wisdom but opinions not the less.
Wikipedia defines "internet troll" as follows: "In Internet slang, a troll is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting quarrels or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, or off-topic messages in an online community with the intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal, on-topic discussion, often for the troll's amusement."
There are a few regular commenters here that fit that definition, but only a few. There are others who get called trolls, who are annoying because their opinions are ill-founded or poorly expressed (or because I disagree with them!), but who don't seem (to me) to be posting intentionally inflammatory messages for disruptive purposes.
But with respect to those who you really think are trolls, the best way to deal with them is to ignore them. Responding to them gives them what they want (disrupting the on-topic discussion, for the troll's amusement). Ignore them, scroll past them, and they'll eventually go away. On the other hand, if you post an emotional or provocative response to a troll, you've become a troll.
Althouse loves her trolls.
After all she married one.
Relax I am not referring to your comments.
Just your physical appearance.
Althouse loves her trolls.
We're like Santa's elves, tinkering away at glittering aperçus for all the good little boys and girls.
Shut up, dull moby.
Fuck off hall monitor.
I said Shut up, dull moby,
Didn't I make myself clear?
Sure thing tough guy.
On second thought go diddle yourself with a rusty spoon.
High-quality mobys are hard to find.
