You know the place where nothing is real Well here's another place you can go Where everything flows. Looking through the bent-branched maples To see how the other half live Looking through a glass window.
Congratulations to Mikaela Shiffrin whose slalom run moved her from 6th to silver, and condolences to Lindsey Vonn who missed a gate in the slalom after putting a huge lead on the rest of the field in the downhill.
Vonn’s preparation for the slalom portion: Vonn had said prior to the event that she had about three slalom runs since December. The lack of preparation for the event led her to acknowledge she needed a miracle.

Meh. The real Olympic story last night was the Cross Country Ladies’ Team Sprint. Jessie Diggins and Kikkan Randall Gold Medal poerformance. Diggin final lap was te most amazing two minutes of sports I've seen in a while. Here, watch it:
This little cafe blurb is about Netflix's new series on manipulating people into committing murder. The NYT post on people's sex lives -- what a very peculiar solicitation! -- reminded me of this new series I heard about yesterday (which I do NOT plan to watch). Everyone is an actor in the show except for the unwitting "real" person who is to be manipulated into committing murder. It's called "The Push" -- the horrific Milgram's Experiment repurposed for the new millenium. Interested in your thoughts. That there is even a market for this makes me wonder if our society is doomed.
Hey Ann.....After insanely arguing with far left loons all day on line about the politicization of those kids in Florida, I noticed this photo and it had am immediate calming affect. A certain warmth to it. I despise the the early morning other than to be able to say I made it through another night, but i immediately thought of having a quiet cup of coffee with a good friend when I saw it. Thanks for that .

Is that kind of a meta-selfie?
Shiffrin is smooth as silk in the gates - a joy to watch. Feel bad the Lindsey Vonn couldn't take one more medal for us Buck Hill Alums.
Time for some cord management.
@EDH Those are all cords for little devices I attach to the computer — the iPhone, different cameras. I need them right there.

Ann, might I recommend one of these? AmazonBasics 10 Port USB 2.0 Hub
They make a 3.0 version 7 port version, but I didn't want you fixated on them being out of stock.
Available through Althouse Amazon portal.
Heck, Meade's the type of guy who could invent an event better one!
First light is earlier now. Bless.
The difficulty I have is, used to early last light, I will be at work, and then suddenly realize it's 5:30 even though it's still light out.

I bought a cheap powered USB hub, but I wish it had more charging watts in the ports.
About the Charlottesville incident I have written and posted an article.
