Vegas is so fake. It presents a Disneyland version of the real world with all the sharp edges sanded down. I prefer my devil to have raven hair and ruby lips and my coke to contain real coca.
Vegas is painstakingly engineered for the purpose of separating the rubes (from all walks of life) from their dough, at which it is quite successful. OTOH, so is Wall Street.
Vegas is 100% American. It is a challenge to show your confidence to wager all that you have for a mighty prize. That was what the Revolutionary War guys did.In other words, it is an American game that challenges your confidence...a/k/a, a con game.
Distances are illusory on the Strip. You can set out to walk to Caesar's, say, because you can see it right there, but then after much walking it doesn't seem to get any closer.
tradguy: You sound like the exact kind of rube Vegas is looking for. There is a difference between taking risks in the real world and placing sucker bets at a casino.
Dollars escape from my wallet no matter what city I'm in. Most of my dollars in Vegas go to the golf courses and restaurants. I'm a very light gambler.

I'd like to buy Devil Woman a Coke.
And keep her company.
I am Laslo.
There was an article this week that quoted Chuck Schumer as saying his hatred of Lyndon Johnson is what brought him into politcs.
The Bushes making common cause with the Clintons is sign of another "paradigm shift."?
Wasn't today supposed to be the start of the revolutionary Days of Rage for the Antifa bozos?
All I hear is crickets.
What Devil Woman does with you in Vegas, stays in Vegas. And having the pause that refreshes after the Devil Woman is a nice touch.
Thread music: Cliff Richard, who is surprisingly still alive.
I certainly hope that no stories of sexual harassment come from the set of The Handmaid's Tale. That would be heartbreaking.
Someone commented that Donna Brazile's book is about pushing the Clintons out the door and closing it behind them.

Sir Cliff has been investigated for 'historic sex offenses', since dropped.

I dated her. It was fun. Sort of.
Romney is going to take away your tampons, in the Handmade's Tale. Trump will force you to be a baby machine... It's all true. Hillarywood sez so.

Walked 38,000 steps one day on and around the Strip.
I wonder what Devil Woman does with that Coke bottle...

And here's the other "Devil Woman" song:
Marty Robbins - Devil Woman
Go to Vegas..and shop at Marshalls!
Ask the workers whether it's as busy as before the shooting.
I think I liked your Utah photos better.
Reminds me of the old "Hell Hole" attraction on the Wildwood boardwalk in the '70's.
There's also a giant coke bottle in San Francisco, at the SF Giants stadium.
