There's a way to go about removing the monuments. Doing it with force of arms and threatening the city with violence is not the way.And doing it under cover of darkness suggests that it's something shameful that needs to be hidden. If you can't do it proudly, by daylight, you're not ready to do it.

Removal of the confederate statues isn't going to alleviate racial and
economic tensions. The Baltimore mayor is only expunging history,and providing
Islam with a precedent to demand removal of all sculptures.
There's surely a lot more removals to occur in the USA.
Generally, great sculpture art is done by white sculptors. So, in essence
sculptures represent 'white supremacy'. Would it ease tensions or even make sense
to remove all sculptures in our USA as symbols of 'white supremacy'

ALSO, The City of Houston, TX needs to be renamed, because Sam Houston was a slave-owner.Similarly, any Washington, DC needs to be changed to something like Clinton to
