"Last fall, the former Newsweek editor Kenneth Woodward revealed that Clinton told him in 1994 that she thought 'all the time' about becoming an ordained Methodist minister. She asked him not to write about it, though: 'It will make me seem much too pious.' The incident perfectly captures Clinton’s long campaign to modulate—and sometimes obscure—expressions of her faith. Now, as Clinton works to rehabilitate her public image and figure out the next steps after her brutal November loss, religion is taking a central role. After long months of struggling to persuade Americans that she is trustworthy, authentic, and fundamentally moral, Clinton is lifting up an intimate, closely guarded part of herself. There are no more voters left to lose. In sharing her faith, perhaps Clinton sees something left to win, whether political or personal...."

Which handler told her publicist to do this?
Q: "What does she have to gain?"
A: The White House.
Awesome. The more Hillary publicly flails about trying to stay politically relevant, the better.
After she gets bored preaching, she should take up professional bowling.
Riiight. This time "the new Hillary" is totally sincere and not a calculation. I believe it!
Jesus wept.
Sympathy for the Devil...........
Did Eleanor suggest this in one of their late night chats?
Methodists tend to be teetotalers, like my parents. Maybe there is a Jack Methodist branch out there.
Hillary is desperate to be liked. And because she's desperate she never will be.
Please Hillary, I beg of you: Please keep sucking up all the oxygen in the Democrat Party.
1994. Isn't that the year she was going around and talking about black youth crime and calling them "Super Predators" and we needed to lock them up for most of their life.
That sounds exactly like a minister of the faith.
"that she thought 'all the time' about becoming an ordained Methodist minister"
I woulda thought that being a UU "leader" of some sort woulda been right up her alley.
Anyway, this idea of Clinton's is just a joke, right?
BTW, isn't there a typo in the heading, "Hillary Clinton wants to preach [sic; screech]"?
what a crock of S---T
There are no more voters left to lose
LOL!!!!!
What is this need so many public figures seem to have to parade their private maunderings for all to see and comment on? As Sydney Pollack's character is Tootsie says, "Who gives a shit?"
Leftist political positions largely take on religious appearance and form. Just look at climate change and diversity. All about empty platitudes and burning heretics.
Does anyone actually believe this is true?
Anyone?
The authentic Hillary, v. 7.1
Leave it to Hillary The Grifter to always come up with another con.
Church Lady.
She is still paying her campaign staff apparently.
So she is still being financed by someone(s).
I wonder why.
Perhaps to keep her staff in being for someone elses benefit?
What a condescending abortion causing bitch. Fuck her.
President Trump needs to throw her fat ass in the slammer. PRONTO!

The authentic Hillary, v. 7.1
I hear v7.2 bakes cookies.
A preacher goes into a bar and says "Anybody who wants to go to heaven, stand up." Everybody stands up except for a drunk in the corner.
The preacher says "My son, don't you want to go to heaven when you die?" The drunk says "When I die? Sure. I thought you were taking a load up now."
Rodham has always used Methodist methods. She just replaced Jesus of Nazareth's goals with Marx-Alynski goals and Satan that their method promotes.
So now she wants to switch back. And the Methodidsts will be happy to let her. They believe Satan can use free will to switch back too.
They needed "to be brought to heel" as I recall.
She is still paying her campaign staff apparently.

Because they're her court. As long as they are around she feels important and powerful as they attend her. When the court disappears, she just one more grandmother with nothing to do.
Proverbs 14:15
Did she want to be a minister before or after she wanted to be a Marine?
Just do it; talk about it later.
Ah, but *which* minister? Jimmy Swaggart?
Wanting to preach is quite a different thing than striving to be more Christ-like. That the article confuses the first impulse for the second is telling.
Who could be more Christlike than Hillary ? She was despised and rejected of men.
Don't think there's a big calling for new ministers in their seventies. Now, if Chelsea wanted to become a Methodist minister . . . .
Hillary doesn't have to worry about the 45% of voters who will think, "papa said if you see it in The Sun (or a Newsweek quote from Hillary), it's so", and she's correct to write off the 40% of voters who wouldn't trust her to empty her own pockets during the processing at the start of the very long prison term she deserves.
Where I think she goes wrong here is not considering the impact of this news on the other 15%, some of whom may even have voted for Bill once or twice, who are now wondering, "the guy I voted for can't have a phone call to Australia without it making headlines the next day - how the hell does she get away with asking the press to keep a secret for her because she thinks it'd make her look bad, and they honor her request for over twenty years?"
"Don't stop / triangulating about tomorrow" with apologies to Fleetwood Mac.
She should start with this
Jimmy Swaggart was in a band with his cousins Jerry Lee Lewis and Mickey Gilley.
Just plain BS.
My great grandparents were Methodist missionaries in China. Very dedicated. The next generation was agnostic and the flowing one atheist.
Hard to believe the denom is still viable outside the South.
The Most Reverend Hillary in the pulpit, former Commander-in-Heat, Bill Clinton, in charge of the offering plate.
Marine, Astronaut, now Minister. Is there anything that cocksucker Hillary CAN'T do?
Besides being President of the United States, of course. . .
The comments here prove there is no cure for Hillary derangement syndrome. It's a chronic waisting disease. When it is scientifically shown that TDS, RDS, ODS, BDS, and CDS all stem from the same pathogen, heads will expode.
"she thought 'all the time' about becoming an ordained Methodist minister. She asked him not to write about it, though: 'It will make me seem much too pious.' The incident perfectly captures Clinton’s long campaign to modulate—and sometimes obscure—expressions of her faith."
So I proceed to read the article on Clinton's long term desire to be a preacher. Looking for "Jesus" throughout the article. Nope. The only mention of Jesus in the article related to a Trump reference. Hillary's "faith" pretty much mirrors the faith of the editorial board of the NY Times.
I wouldn't say I have "Clinton Derangement Syndrome". I'm just glad she's not President. Real glad. Practically euphoric, ya might say.
She wants to preach.
I guess I can believe that.
The comments here prove there is no cure for Hillary derangement syndrome
Oddly enough, a lot of Progressives have Hillary Derangement Syndrome, too.
Hitch was wrong. There's always someone left to lie to.
"She asked him not to write about it, though: 'It will make me seem much too pious."
And he obeyed, which would of course happen for anyone else seeking the Presidency, correct?

Your confusing derangement with ridicule. Well-earned ridicule. How does a couple go from $35K/year in salary as governor of Arkansas to having a net worth of over a billion $$, without ever leaving public service?
PS: You may count the Rose Law Firm as outside employment. I do not.
Pincus: Where did you learn to cook?
Richard: I had a friend who was generous with her time.
Gwen: Richard's being modest. He worked for three years with homeless prostitutes in Bengal.

Didn't I just read somewhere that she's hiring back all of her campaign team?
Looks like they've decided that the GOP voters easiest to steal away from Trump are the evangelicals.
They might be right, but it's hard to imagine this will do it, or that Hillary will be the candidate in four years.
"Clinton is lifting up an intimate, closely guarded part of herself."
Oh, I'm glad to see that she's still fiddling with her guard. First she lets it down and now she lifts it up, I'm curious where she'll place it next.
Is this the new "Hard Choices"? Is every story written by a lackey going to contain some version of this in order to make her seem less manufactured?
I knew a lady that worked with the Baptist hierarchy. She helped place ministers in churches. She once told me that she thought all the applicants truly thought they heard a calling. But that the Lord must have been calling mighty quietly to some of them.
The one phrase I cannot imagine saying during a Hillary sermon is, "I believe, I BELIEVE!"
"Does anyone actually believe this is true?
Anyone?"
I believe that she's had a lifelong desire to tell other people how to live their lives.
I believe that, having been denied the political authority to do so, she might be wondering if she can con us into believing she has the moral authority.
Maybe she's finally gone off the deep end.
Wanting to preach is quite a different thing than striving to be more Christ-like. That the article confuses the first impulse for the second is telling.
Came here to say this. If your motivation is to stand behind the pulpit and watch people listen to you raptly, you're the wrong person for the job. If she wants to serve the Lord, which is a fine way to spend her sunset years, she just needs to get a little Micah 6:8 action going on. He hath shown thee, O man, what is good: and what doth the Lord require of thee but to do justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
For once, trad guy can't blame this on the Papists.
John Wesley would puke if he met Hillary.
Preach what?
Hillary's Resistance Revival Hour from The Glass Ceiling Cathedral!
Maybe she should start by going to church once in awhile.
Hillary may say she wants to preach; what she really wants is to be worshiped.
Is she really going to run again?
"...There are no more voters left to lose. In sharing her faith, perhaps Clinton sees something left to win..."
I told you. She's running in 2020. And the Dems are just delusional enough to run her, thank God.
She's a purely evil woman. Hiding behind a Methodist pulpit will not change that.
She can't sit an listen, she has to tell others what to do.
Satan behind the pulpit.
Well, she has mentioned a few times how she wants to force churches to change doctrines that she doesn't like. So what better way than to become a minister herself and preach the new heresy?
Maybe Bill can get her to preach a sermon on the benefits of borrowing interns or something. Anthony Weiner would be in the front row.....
--Vance
Maybe she can preach Fire and Brimstone in that Phony Arkansas accent. Let the Church say 'Amen'.
She certainly knows a sweet racket when she sees one.
