Somewhere there's a statue of Gen'l Jubilation T. Cornpone, the founder of Dogpatch, which used to stand in the defunct theme park Dogpatch USA in Arkansas. He was such an incompetent general, the story goes, that Union soldiers paid for his monument.
"You shall not make for yourself a graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them or serve them."
It's the latest generation of the Flying Wallendas. Mom just did a couple of backflips on a high wire while holding the kid and now they're taking their curtain call.
Blacks aren't on a spiritual journey, just angry. The opposite of a spiritual journey. A spiritual journey would be not doing well and not being angry nevertheless.
You can argue those two points and defuse the whole thing.
As Jessie Leigh Peterson argues, aiming to point out better selves as an option.

Ooooo you went to the Indianapolis Museum of Art! That's about five minutes by car from my house. Until 2 years ago or so you could walk the grounds for free. Now you have to pay. Ticked me off and haven't been back. But still, I've photographed that same statue many times. Here's a whole Flickr album of photos I've taken there.
The Associated Press ✔ @AP BREAKING: Houston mayor: More 2,000 calls for rescue amid flooding, city's convention center opening as shelter. 8:08 AM - Aug 27, 2017
I used to go to every concert and recital at the local university, as a sort of moral encouragement, but then they decided to charge admission to non-students. I haven't been back in 30 years.
I notice McAuliffe has reversed himself on the monuments - I just read the headlines, did not read the article. He's not a native Southerner, it should be noted, in case there was one person who still did not know that. Second, I am intrigued by the enormous amount of money the gov of Texas won in a lawsuit over a tree branch that fell on him and left him paralyzed in his youth. I think it's worth a discussion on liability and such.
Is there any evidence in the past 20-30 years that conservatives, through mob rule, were tearing down any statues of historical figures with whom they disagree?
You can still walk the grounds for free: you just can't park for free.
My suggestion: park at the free lot for the 100 Acres just off 38th & White River Parkway. You can then walk to the beautiful grounds along the Central Canal Towpath free of charge.
Been meaning to pay a compliment to our host. As a long time Indy resident I am loving all the pictures. It's always interesting to get a peek at ones everyday surroundings through a fresh set of eyes.
Slavery is an old economic system, akin to hit the guy on the head and take his stuff systems.
You enslave the enemy instead of killing him.
It was outdated with the free market. A slave contributes more working in his own interest under the free market.
The chief problem of blacks today is slavery sadz used to exploit blacks by the left. That's the moral problem, not spirit-of-the-times slavery long ago.
Exploiting today's blacks for power, actually taking everything from them starting with self-respect.

How long before Grant's Tomb is vandalized ? He once owned a slave.
Plus, when escaped slaves got to his army, he told them he could do nothing for them.
They are destroying Revolutionary War statues--showing their Anti--American true nature.
Want to get rid of it? Just let it be known to U of Indiana students that it honors a Civil War general. It'll be gone in a week.
Amazing variety of content, Ann. Great job!
A monument to women who did not get an abortion?
Not long for this world I think.
Whimsical Girl.
Don't let the genetalia fool you.

Caligula and his mom.
Or maybe it's young Ozymandius.
Mother and child. So offensive.
Single mother and child. Social progress.
There's a dish in a Chinese restaurant called “Mother and Child Reunion.”
It’s chicken and eggs.
How is the kid peeing from his big toe?
Enron and Big Uranium in a deadly dance.
Antifa are Moses's goon squad.

Beautiful, and reminiscent of the "Bird Girl" before she entered Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil.

Threads on statue issue have been very educational.

I am starting the rumor that Robert E. Lee is buried in Grant's Tomb.
TEAR IT DOWN...!
It mocks children with two mommies.
It glorifies a stay at home mother.
It insults gay male parents.
It doesn't reflect diversity.
TEAR IT DOWN...!!

Another idiot Democrat Mayor (sorry to be repetitive) advised residents NOT to evacuate and now they are trapped.
Now are desperate to get help evacuating people who should have left before the storm arrived.

I assume the trapped Houston residents are immigrants from New Orleans who stayed in Houston.

Bernard McGuirk suggests gondolas as a tourist attraction for flooded cities.
You know, I like to do just like the rest
You know, I like my sugar sweet

I've noticed that bad guys in movies listen to classical music

Dunk it in urine. Sanitize the pro-life la cabrona. Now, let us play.

Yes the bad guys play classical, the sadistic bad guys play opera.
A passage from Liszt's Les Preludes was used for the throne room scenes of Ming the Merciless in the Flash Gordon serials in the thirties.
@antiphone
Thanks!
In the latest season of Fargo, the bad guy was obsessed with Beethoven's 23rd Sonata.
Clockwork Orange and Beethoven's Nth.

A monument to unPlanned Parenthood. To the People and our Posterity. Deplorable.

Get rid of all monuments in America. This place is hopelessly screwed.
