#ShakurDidNothingWrong

Just like the Empire.

This Sarsour woman needs to be ignored. Stop giving her media attention. She's a complete nut.

Matt Sablan said...

If she had been male and white like Ayers, maybe she'd have been just some guy in Obama's neighborhood.

Owen said...

That poster is weird. When I saw the white things in Shakur's hair, at first I thought they were tiny human bones.

Finally, a definition of alt-right that everyone can understand: it's anyone who doesn't like people who murder police officers, even if those people are black.

Matt Sablan said...

One of the worst things is that the hundreds of thousands of actually admirable women are being ignored to promote her.

Tommy Duncan said...

Please notice her response ignores the substance of Tapper's tweet and moves to a personal attack.

Kyle Smith in National Review, "To be on the left today is to look around and see nutty ideas accepted as perfectly reasonable, everywhere and at all times. Speech is violence, but violent acts are just a really neat form of expression. Gender is a social construct, so you can be a boy on Monday and a girl on Tuesday."

You would hope that Tapper would wise up here and get woke about how the left throws around these accusations and realize that just as it is BS about him, it is BS about others the left has charged. But he probably won't. He'll keep on at their side. Back when he was one of the few taking Bill Clinton to task in the 1990s, I thought it was because he was one of the few who had integrity. Now I realize that it was probably only because he had "dated" Monica Lewinsky before Bill did.

When Juan Williams dared to stray off the plantation and was savaged by the left, he was stunned and saw what the left was all about. But then fairly quickly, he recovered his own inner leftness and again started once again to reflexively attack conservatives and Republicans in that same irrational and unfounded way.

The trouble with being a world class virtue signaler is that you have to be more virtuous (nutty) than even people on your own side. Where does it all end? With only a small group of champion virtue signalers at the peak of Holier Than Though Mountain, looking down their pointy noses at everyone else? With all of the other virtue signalers shunning you for finally going too far?

Somebody start the popcorn.

Paco Wové said...

"This Sarsour woman needs to be ignored. Stop giving her media attention."

I disagree. If anything, she should be more prominent.

Owen said...

Jersey Fled: "...Where does [all the virtue-signaling] end?...". With a mountain of skulls. Which, I'm sorry, is what is evoked for me by that poster of Shakur. Hundreds of tiny white skulls and fragments woven into her rich, dark, authentic hair.

If the alt-right has expanded far enough to include Jake Tapper then the Left is over and done with, and the Democrats may as well disband.

Exactly. The left's crazies have a tendency to operate under the radar, their most offensive words and actions ignored by the media. The organizers of and speakers at the Women's March included not only jihadist Sarsour, but a woman who took part in torturing a man to death. How many of the pussy-hatted simpletons who marched because Trump is Hitler! realized that? Some would not have cared. Others (and I'm thinking the comfortable suburban white liberal women who are drawn to these things because well, quilting bees and coffee klatches aren't fashionable these days) might have second thoughts.

Nah. Every now and then, Tapper says something reasonable, which has led conservatives to hope for fairness from him. He always returns to the liberal plantation and the utterly conventional media "wisdom."

And like Jon Stewart, his occasional criticisms of the left boil down to "Hey! You're making our side look bad! Stop it!"

David Begley said...

The logical disconnect with this Sansour woman is that she is pushing for women's liberation but she wears the full head scarf. I recall when Vatican 2 was passed and women no longer had to wear a head covering in church. Immediately all women approved. I have never seen one since except at a wedding. Women hated the head scarf. And it was a stupid and pointless rule.

A perfectly sensible comment:

But it works both ways. If Jake Tapper/CNN are part of the Trump-hating Leftwing Lamestream Driveby Media, Jake screwed up on this one.

Right?

Sarsour wants STRUGGLE without any struggle.

@Chuck, no. Why not is an exercise for the reader.

If opposing Linda Sarsour's stupidity makes someone alt-right, then they're going to need a bigger tent.

Your free speech is violence. My violence is free speech.

And let's not be so judgmental, OK? Let he who has not murdered a police officer cast the first stone.

My girlfriend always wears a head scarf to church. She loves that tradition.

The difference is, of course, that no one forces her to wear it.

It's always different when a lefty does it. Always.

Call it the First Rule of Being a Lefty.

Chuck's question at 7:54 qualifies him as a member in good standing of the growing Alt-Right movement. Welcome aboard Chuck.

Well, to be fair, he does get paid pretty handsomely to be the stupid leftist on a number of Fox programs.

stlcdr said...

Why on earth would Women's March post such a thing?!

Mostly rhetorical, of course, but it's this sort of crap which leads people to actively dismiss feminist, antifa, blm and other nasty groups.

The reciprocal of David Brooks at the NYT.

HoodlumDoodlum said...

Nice that Tapper noticed, but the Left has been honoring terrorists and murderers for a few decades now. Free Mumia, starting one's political career in the living room of a guy who helped bomb the Pentagon...no big deal.
If it takes having a certified Member of the Media, blue checkmark and all, getting smeared by these Leftists for people to recognize just how radical and violence-loving Leftist movements are...well, I guess I will take it, but kinda sad, journalists.

HoodlumDoodlum said...

Cross a feminist with a Leftist and you get a Leftist.
None of this is difficult to understand!

Wow! Good for Jake Tapper. Calling it like it is.

Sarsour is a PR genius. I never heard of her 6 months ago - and now I don't think a day goes by without reading something about her.

The left, like their media, is digging its own grave, which saves us the trouble.

The post-Marxist Left had the opportunity when the Soviet Union fell to just walk away from the horrors of the old Marxist Left & its millions of victims. But, somehow, they just can't help themselves --- they reach back in history & try to retroactively whitewash these moral monsters, of which Shakur is one.

There really is so little overlap between Marxist & post-Marxist leftism, why do this? Why spend so much energy on such a losing battle?

I think the post-Marxist Lefties do it to piss off the Right, & in pissing off the Right, it becomes a standard for the Left to rally around. Well, it does piss off the Right. But, for everyone who isn't Po-Mo Left, it also sets in concrete the idea that about 70% of the modern Left is clinically insane.

When I took poli-sci, one of the required texts was Michael Parenti's Dempcracy For the Few (this was at small-state public university). Parenti is famous for, among other things, attacking Chomsky from the Left after Chomsky made some remarks that were seen as borderline criticism of Stalin.
The book was awful. I mean, it was just an exercise in Leftist masturbation. Each chapter described a facet of the US political system that Parenti hated ("hunger in America," for example), and was just a long polemic with pages of cites in chapter end notes. When you looked at the cites, you found that most of them were from sociology studies that were decades old (in some cases, half a century old), or were from Parenti's other books. Very impressive to a left-leaning undergrad, I suppose.
It was as though Parenti was still using the index card cites he accumulated in grad school in the late 50s-early 60s.
The cover art for Dempcracy For the Few was like a bad parody. An apparently homeless person pushing a shopping cart with his belongings with the capitol building in the background -- but the "homeless person" was a neatly dressed, well-groomed 20-something white man, the very image of the earnest young academician of the late 90s (when our ed. was published), the least likely "homeless" person you would ever meet.

Self-correction: The left, like its media, is digging its own grave.
Or, the left, like their media, are digging their own grave.

Lewis Wetzel: I wonder if a non-leftist Poli-Sci prof even exists. Or has ever existed.

YoungHegelian said...

@mockturtle,

Lewis Wetzel: I wonder if a non-leftist Poli-Sci prof even exists. Or has ever existed.

Probably so. But, there certainly have been many, many books written by Marxists scholars that were of the highest quality.

There is absolutely no need, even within a left-wing ambit, to assign tendentious crap like Democracy for the Few.

Lewis Wetzel said...

Mockturtle, the prof was actually a nice guy. We got along fine, though he knew that I was not impressed by Parenti's scholarship or the power of his argument. I got an "A" for the course, and when the class was over he urged me to have a chat with several other students who felt that they had been graded unfairly. It was a 100 level class, so all you really had to do to get an A was submit assignments on time and write at the level of an undergrad.

You're being too logical, SR . . . and logic is a tool of the Euro-centric white patriarchy. So shut up.

I tend to agree with Fritz.

I think Fox has a leftist script that certain people are paid to follow. Juan is one.

House Ni**er is the old term for what he does.

Joanne Chesimard is a killer and should be picked up and returned to prison. If Obama had an ounce of humanity he would have made that part of the Cuba thing.

But he doesn't.

Prediction: Sarsour will be given a safe Democrat district in 2018. She will be praised by most prominent women democrats, including Warren, and the left wing of the party.
