The mystical morning light.

Just now, in the backyard, as the sun rises:

P1130957

P1130954

P1130955

I don't know why the light is taking that form. I assume the sun is reflecting off of something. But I am fascinated by the seeming shape of a jawline and ear.

It used to be, around this time of year, the setting sun would come in the patio door to the NW, through the family room, the kitchen, the hall, and the living room, hitting a spot in the SE across the room from my computer, a very unintuitive shot.

Alas trees a block away have now grown enough to block it (or the earth's orbit has changed) and it no longer happens as a sort of stonehenge celebration of the season.

There a waterfall in Yosemite? that's lit up like molten lava against black rock for 15 minutes a year. Saw it on PBS.

It is the ghost of Ulysses S Grant.
The angle of reflection equals the angle of incidence.
Should be a simple matter of looking behind you and noticing the angle of the sun.
