Vote the opposite of what women want, is a good rule.
Basically a pre-written article. One of the benefits/curses of getting older (I'm 43) is never seeing anything new. I've read this same article dozens of times over the past 25-30 years.
Two weeks ago it said "11,000 woman of contacted Emily's list about running for office".
I know and have known a lot of conservative women. Don't they count? They are interested in being left alone by the gov't. I think that would make a good story.
Only if you consider Handel a 'real' woman
Written from a template, yes. What is it about lefties and all the contrived language? Starting to think it's more than cool kid signaling...
Madeline was wrong. There is no special place in Hell, but they do get to board first.
Let me see if I can help Dave from Minnesota:
No, conservative women don't count in the Leftist worldview.
Ayaan Hirsi Ali could be reached for further explication. (Neither Clarence Thomas nor Tim Scott responded to inquiries before this comment went to press.)
rehajm
I assume that buwaya is correct and all of these MSM stories are centrally directed propaganda. Occam is quite well shaven.
Ann appears to have taken the easy way out this morning by focusing on articles displaying the progressives' cognitive dissonance.
And this is why there will never be a female Democrat President of the United States. Female solidarity is only when lefty women run for office. And Republican women know that by now.
The sixth is only 13 percent black, and it was sliced and diced to stay white, with adjacent pockets of black voters placed in the districts of Representatives Hank Johnson and John Lewis.
I thought this was an interesting sentence. The reporter doesn't tell us who "sliced and diced" the district, or why it's bad that black voters were placed in the districts of Hank Johnson (D) and John Lewis (D). Who has been fighting for the racial gerrymander?
If you ask me, census workers should stop dividing people into races. Stop doing that on the census, deprive the government of this information, and the ugly and evil racial gerrymander will be a thing of the past.
So do you want to do that, Nation? Or does your party prefer to create racial gerrymanders and constantly accuse people of racism?
Tom D...one of the things I like about The Professors blog is her subtle grouping of subjects.
Big Mike....a lot of us used to say that the first black and woman Presidents will be Republicans because they will nominate one based on qualifications, vs just a hard lefty who fills in a checkbox.
I think Obama threw this off as he was...basically a white guy with a dark hue to his skin. People voted for him "to make history" but didn't have to vote for an angry old Jesse Jackson and all the baggage he comes with.
You have to factor in that Handle has a strong, straight ahead, male persona, while Ossoff has a flexible, any way you want it, female persona.
Fortunately, DJT has sent her his support.
Special places in Hell should be reserved for the worst of the worst, such as terrorists, child molesters, and whomever it was that screw up the user interface on Microsoft Office. Burn in Hell, Ribbon Maker!
Even prog theology is situational. There is no hell, except for anyone who spurns prog causes, and a "special place" in it for anyone who spurns prog women. Con women deserve whatever they got comin'.
Karen Handel is the author of a pro-life book.
I imagine Planned Parenthood, and the pro-abortion left, is spending a lot to get rid of her. Maybe that's why this particular House election is so expensive. $50 million and counting.
Ossoff is outspending Handel 7 to 1 so far.
Nate Silver's done a real wishy-washy analysis over at his website. I think he's predicting a Hendel win. But he's also predicting a blue wave in 2018. And he was, of course, spectacularly wrong last year.
So the protected (upper) middle class lefty white women vote (as always) with their emotions. We are women we are strong.....or something. We are a tribe of "WOmen", unless you are a conservative woman who doesn't toe the rigid party line..... then die bitch.
However, when the shit hits the fan, as it will, because the idiotic ideas that they 'love' to cling to produce the inevitable results; they expect the men, mostly lower class men (who also don't count in their eyes) to lay down their lives to protect their delusional asses.
I'd have to guess those people predisposed to vote for Ossoff in Georgia's 6th made their decisions some time ago.
At some point this continued lefty media onslaught becomes GOTV boosterism for conservatives in Georgia's 6th, doesn't it?
Funny how you never read, "Men are leading the charge.." Only women are portrayed as a monolithic voting bloc, election results notwithstanding.
Good point Mockturtle.
Women are always portrayed as a monolithic group. Women think X. Women vote X. Women support X.
One big mass of women without any distinctions. The media likes to do this with Hispanics and Blacks as well and then are shocked when there arises a Republican Hispanic, Conservative voting Black.
This post, and the one it links to, need a Fen's Law tag.
"I know and have known a lot of conservative women."
Oh, and a visit from Laslo.
A real woman does not oppose abortion.
A real woman does not support war.
A real woman does support restricting immigration.
A real woman does not support cutting poverty programs.
If you hold any of these views (perhaps the list is longer) you need to keep quiet about it, or you will be (perhaps subtly, but definitively) rejected by your women's book club friends.
Sarah Palin, Carlie Fiorina, Nicki Haley are not real women, and it would be a travesty for them to claim the title "first woman President".
There is a special place in hell for women who do not support real women.
But there is no special place in hell for women who do not support people who identify as women but who are not real women.
Great catch, Ann.
Shows how hollow and dishonest politicized "feminism" really is. It's all about race and political power, feminism is just the MacGuffin to fool some people. The stupid ones.
Though, we have seen that repeatedly since at least 1998 (Lewinsky), if not 1991 (Clarence Thomas v. Anita Hill).
There is a special place in hell for women who do not support real women.
No true Scotswomen were harmed in this post.
The Nation is among the lowest form of Marxist propaganda masquerading as journalism.
A special place next to people who talk during movies
I suspect Handel's rise in the polls the last few days isn't really people changing their minds, but people being more willing to openly support her when asked due to the D.C. shooting. After the first round voting, I have predicted a Handel win by 3% or or more. I will stick with that.
We support women's rights! -- but only if they are Democrat.
We support women candidates! -- but only if they are Democrat
We support women elected officials! -- but only if they are Democrat.
I am casually reminded of the old saw that the "exception swallows the rule."
Ann, that "special place in hell" quip is hilarious. I would never have made the connection.
I have always believed that God is almost entirely a free speech fundamentalist, so I doubt it.
The headline is: "Women Are Leading the Charge in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District"
It could easily and more honestly be written as:
"Liberal Democrats are supporting the Liberal Democrat in Georgia's 6th Congressional District."
But I guess that lacks the snazzy factor.
Oh, he's a guy. Out, out damned narrative blot.
If Nate Silver is predicting a blue wave in 2018, this means he's been advised that they're turning up the voter fraud machine to eleventy and he needs to start making it look plausible ASAP.
So the protected (upper) middle class lefty white women vote (as always) with their emotions.
Repeal the 19th Amendment.
"You have to factor in that Handle [sic] has a strong, straight ahead, male persona, while Ossoff has a flexible, any way you want it, female persona."
Indeed. I suspect that the Yuppie horde, male and female, that is supporting "Osshole" is rebelling against both Mom and Dad by being against Hendel, who I thought from the beginning of the race was possibly the weakest and most vulnerable of the many, many Republican hopefuls. I would have preferred one of the old guys running against her for nomination had won, if only to contrast their higher testicularity against Dishonest Jon's girly-man qualities.
"The local Indivisible chapter is campaigning hard for Jon Ossoff, but they have their eyes on a bigger prize as well." (The Nation)"
They all just got a tweet from Anthony Weiner...
