What's been disgusting people in the last 24 hours? I wondered, after blogging something that disgusted Meade and me and noticing the the new post went on top of yesterday's post about Comey being "just completely disgusted" when Trump subjected him to a handshake.
Here's what I've come up with:
1. The avolatte. "Yes, this is a latte served inside of an avocado. Look at it. It’s sickening."
2. What's that white thing that seems to be growing out of your child's gums? It's not some weird new disease, just some fingernail bitings. One woman — who ultimately tweezed out 27 shreds — made video of her adventure in her son's mouth and posted it on Facebook. The son's name — if this is relevant to analyzing her level of vigilance about health matters — is Kale.
3. "If Trump took a dump on his desk, you would defend it," said Anderson Cooper last night to his guest Jeffrey Lord.
4. In Japan, promoting the movie "Tokyo Ghoul," there's a Tokyo Ghoul café. Here's the website for the café with some pictures from the comic book and the dishes intended to evoke them. (Here's a trailer for the new movie.)
5. I avoided the hoo-ha over the men's romper, but maybe I can catch the wave on the jeado. "Real men wear speedos, but it takes a confident man to wear a jeado."
6. "It's not that Trump isn't or shouldn't be frightening. But it's conspicuous that our media landscape is now a perfect Ailes-ian dystopia, cleaved into camps of captive audiences geeked up on terror and disgust. The more scared and hate-filled we are, the more advertising dollars come pouring in, on both sides."
7. From "'Alien' Is Sci-Fi Horror's Most Feminist Movie Franchise," by Tom Seymour: "The Alien movies visualize the two things so many men look upon with disgust and horror—getting penetrated themselves, and watching a woman giving birth... In the Alien films... moments of rape are always moments of impregnation. They provide a dual, intensified horror."
8. From "As Indians, we take our cotton heritage too lightly": "Remember the outrage last year in the US when an Indian supplier of 'Egyptian cotton' bedsheets to major department stores was found to have used other cotton? The disgust and horror was akin to sturgeon caviar being found to have been diluted with dyed salmon roe or horsemeat being detected in so-called beef products in UK. But how many know that India also produces... an equally wonderful ESL cotton variety, albeit rather unimaginatively named Suvin, the result of a 'marriage' of a local cotton gal 'Sujatha' with a Caribbean cotton lad called St Vincent in the mid-1970s?"
9. "Where do we draw the line on sledging?" I don't know. I had to figure out what "sledging" even is. Fortunately, there's an entire Wikipedia article on this cricket-specific issue: "Sledging is a term used in cricket to describe the practice whereby some players seek to gain an advantage by insulting or verbally intimidating the opposing player.... There is debate in the cricketing world as to whether this constitutes poor sportsmanship or good-humoured banter."
10. "Found this while doing yard work. My brother asked why women would buy baseball themed pads."

The Avolatte is a grave culinary crime against humanity and a mortal threat to our existence.
It's up there with New Coke.
If Obama bit the heads of live chickens, Anderson Cooper would defend it. "Who are we to judge".
It disgusts me that people will not acknowledge that the leaks about Trump are coming from Republicans who work in his White House. Also, it is not Democrats that need Trump gone, but instead it is Mike Pence and establishment Republicans who want to quickly dispose of him.
At least it'd be his own desk, not the rest of the country, like the Iran deal or the Russian uranium deal.
Derrida in Economimesis gets to disgust being the term that screws up Kant's theory of the fine arts, starting along about page 16.
If Trump took a dump on Anderson Cooper's desk, I would defend it.
Only dumb Althouse Hillbillies would think Democrats, who are in the minority, are driving the impeachment train.
Only dumb Once written would resort to name-calling in lieu of argument.
I wonder if it ever occurs to mediaswine like Cooper that one of the main reason we are likely to defend Trump is because they hate him so much. Many of us have loathed and mistrusted the MSM for many years prior to the recent election.
Yes, there are also some shitty Republicans. It's the Deep State. You should be on Trump's side.
But wait, are you pretending that the Democrats have nothing to do with it? Yeah, sorry, I mistakenly tried to take you seriously for a minute there. Go back to fellating dogs, Onesie.
What is really funny though, is that if Obama took a dump anywhere, all of the MSM including Anderson would be there to cover it, and take pictures with him after. I wish "news"anchors would tell the news, and shut up with their opinions. Otherwise...just join The View. (leftwing garbage at it's best)
It disgusts me that a small (hopefully) group of trolls attempt to take over EVERY thread with their tantrums of "Tump is the Devil". Whose minds do they believe will be changed by their rants?
For Anderson Cooper: If Obama took a dump on your shoes, you would have it hermetically sealed and place it on your fireplace mantle.

Well said.
We had a snake eating another snake in our yard yesterday. My wife and stepdaughter were kind of disgusted.
Looks like our paid Soros trolls got the new JournaList talking points:
"We are not driving the impeachment train. And we have always been at war with EastAsia"
And then they have the audacity to call us the rubes. It's almost funny until you remember these people are traitors attempting a coup against a duly elected President of the United States.
So, at our local zoo, there's a small train visitors can ride. Well, it's a train like car. There's no tracks, the "engine" is a motorized car in the shape of a train engine. Each passenger car holds 4 people (if they're small), and is mostly for kids. It goes in a 10 minute loop around part of the zoo, then returns back to the beginning. My young kids like it, but it's not really a train, doesn't really give a tour of the zoo beyond the very basics, and is driven by a low-level teen employee.
All this to say, that's the train I thought of when I first read the phrase "impeachment train."
The "jeado" is just the usual many decades old Euro-style mens swimsuit in a jeans pattern, just another pattern in an infinity of them.
It is best worn by young, fit fellows. The models in the link should perhaps think through this.
I am much too old and eminent for that, and have long since settled into the dignity of boxer style swim shorts.
"Real men wear speedos, but it takes a confident man to wear a jeado."
Actually, the real man would wear the Pizza Dat Ass version - in a dog park?
9. People comparing abortion to sunscreen.
The Rolling Stone piece is of course disingenuous.
It ignores entirely the reasons Fox succeeded, the blatant ideological bias of the mass media and all cultural institutions, already extreme in the 1990s. Fox did not create this, it was a reaction to it.
And the modern state of liberal media has nothing to do with chasing an audience. It is, to begin with, an institutional condition beginning with the deplorable state of education of their personnel, and ending with the political-economic interests of their owners.
I wouldnt call this article disgusting, as such, but entirely standard-issue for the industry.
3. If Trump defeated ISIS, Cooper would bitch. If GDP grew at 4%, Cooper would bitch.
Dog comes to the door with a slimy prairie-dog head, complete with eyeballs, sticking out of his mouth. Which isn't too gross until you imagine doing it yourself.
Disgusting means bad taste, which usually means a bad smell. Bad smells are from decomposition and corruption of dead things, or near dead things.
Something has died in LaLa Land. We need a good wine pairing for that.
#10 reminds me of that time Maldy literally knocked the kotex clean off the ball.
That's a sports pad.
If Trump cured cancer, the headline would be "Trump throws docyors and researchers out of work".

I agree. Trump didn't make many Republican friends during the Primaries, least of all Lyin' Ted and Little Marco. Somebody said that if you want a friend in Washington, get a dog.
There's really no good place to put a team logo on sports tampons.
That pad must be some man's idea of Home Plate. Getting to first base is nice, and second is fun, and third is close, but home plate is where you score.
"If Trump took a dump on his desk, you would defend it"
Without getting in to a discussion of executive privilege, if CNN ran a story that an anonymous source claimed he was told by a well-placed insider that Trump had taken a dump on his desk, then yes I would take issue with the story.
Dogs show disgust only in a non-food sense. Food vomit is just another chance to eat.
To expand, if the MSM had wanted to prevent the success of Fox, it would not have required more than offering the Fox-audience ideological balance in their own programming, simply that.
The disingenuous part is that the Rolling Stone writer would reply, huffily no doubt, that such a concession is more than those deplorable people deserve.

I'm guessing we've all seen this, but: "Media Having Trouble Finding Right Angle on Obama Double Homicide"

While Obama has expressed no remorse for the grisly murders—point-blank shootings with an unregistered .38-caliber revolver—many journalists said it would be irresponsible for the press to sensationalize the story.

"It is best worn by young, fit fellows."
Or with a filthy bath robe.
Wouldn't pads with a sports logo on them (never realized such a thing existed) be worn by the fans of the opposing team? It's hardly a sign of love and respect to deposit ones bodily fluids on a logo. Maybe that pad was worn by a Cubs fan during the 2016 World Series.
(okay, been overdoing it with the movie quotes just lately, sorry about that Professor, so serious business this time ...)
Sledging needs to be vigorously policed, as it is the very top of a very steep, slippery slope. It is of an ilk with not simply walking when you're clearly out, and if not dealt with sternly could lead to players answering back to the umpire.
And I tell you this -- by this sign, you will know when it's time to retire to your survivalist bolthole: when India and Pakistan are no longer able to play Test matches.
You want disgust, California style?
Here's Tom Perez at a nurses' union convention in California being booed - because he's not sufficiently for government socialized healthcare.
These left wing idiots would wreck our healthcare system, turn us into Venezuela, then either shrug their shoulders or blame Putin for the mess they created.
"Packers" might be a good name for a feminine hygiene product.

Anderson Cooper is an embarrassment.
When will a Special Prosecutor be brought in to investigate Hillary's financial ties with Russia?
So, with the Eye-rolls and disgusting attacks on Trump defenders Cooper isn't even pretending anymore. IRC, the Harvard study showed 93% of CNN Trump news coverage was negative. I'd believe it.
They should just change their name to DNC.
If Obama took a dump on Anderson's desk, Cooper would sniff it, delight in it, roll in it, and then carry it off to his lair for safe keeping.
"'Alien' Is Sci-Fi Horror's Most Feminist Movie Franchise,"
The first one was pretty good despite the ludicrous formulaic cast, but the others were a waste of a good monster.
Is that last one supposed to be some kind of "feminine protection pad?" I don't think that's what it is.
People don't seem to get it. Most of the MSM are liberal activists who decided to "make a difference" by going into the news business.
Their "objectivity" has always been a tactical move on their part when it wasn't forced upon them by external factors. Now, since the Establishment - both right and left - hates Trump, they can launch non-stop attacks and be partisan hacks without any of their fellow news hounds saying "boo".
What's amazing to me is how people like Jonah Goldberg and Bill Kristol have dropped the mask and made it clear they don't care about any real conservative principle - and never have. The SCOTUS? Who cares. Social Issues? Who cares. Tax reform/The Budget? Who cares. Better Hillary then Trump. For them, all that matters is hating nationalism (aka patriotism) and an interventionist foreign policy. Globalization uber alles.
Has anyone on here ever seen a maxi pad or kotex? They don't have holes in them as they would defeat the purpose of absorption.
Sorry to ruin everyone's fun with the feminine pad, but that's actually the cover of a baseball. That or you're near a woman's march site and someone used to protect their pussy hat?
Cleaveland.
You can find pads like that with all kinds of logos. I even found one with "little league" on it!
Clearly for pretty heavy duty flow, what with the leather construction and made for stitching into place. It takes balls to make something like that.
Using the logo the opposing team was the brilliant concept behind Mike and Rusty Heck's diaper business.
Shoot, a minute too late. Stupid edting and finding links.
Thank you ARM.
Democrats should not support a rush to judgement and a quick impeachment. The Republicans who are leaking in what is clearly a coordinated way are trying to get Democrats to be their cover, but the country instead should insist that ALL the facts and testimony be examined in public by Congress before Dems will support the extraordinary step of impeachment. This examining of the facts in public should include Mike Pence testifying in front of a bipartisan congressional committee. We need to know much more about the guy who would replace Trump before a final decision could be made.
"Sorry to ruin everyone's fun..."
You're actually increasing the fun.
Pad? It looks like the insole of a shoe.
Wait -- people really, honestly, truly believe that Democrats are not pushing for impeachment despite House Democrats calling for so much impeachment that they were starting to look crazy enough that Democrat leaders tried to dial it back?
Do you also have a bridge to sell me?
[I do like that Schiff, who previously was known for saying proof of the golden dossier would be revealed shortly, is one of the ones soberly saying, hey, maybe impeachment ain't gonna happen.]
I'm pushing impeachment, but like fine wine, only when it's time.
"Alien" was very well made indeed, one of my favorites. My wife can't stand it however.
It is remarkably well designed, tightly written, tightly edited, no pointless digressions, and innovative subject, story and artistic design. As Science Fiction literature even, though it borrowed a fair few tropes, it was surprisingly inventive, for a film. Giger was a niche, relative unknown until Alien gave him fame.
The whole thing, including its aesthetic, was subsequently massively overdone and became stale. But in its day it was very much an innovation.
Bravo to some of the comments above about the "maxi pad", even the ones like HT's that didn't even get the joke.
Or is this some kind of hipster humor, where you deadpan explain a joke that everyone already got as if you were the first person to figure it out?
Some new Andy Kaufman type thing....
Maybe you could build a stand up routine on that.
Take some joke that everyone already knows — Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side — and flatfootedly explain it until people start laughing at you.
Some guy literally knocked the cover off the baseball in scoring a homerrun. Those who only got to first or second base are envious.
We need to know much more about the guy who would replace Trump before a final decision could be made.
What you think of Pence is irrelevant to whether Trump is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors.
As I wrote the day before yesterday- the strategy being pursued by the Democrats is to convince Republicans that impeaching Trump is good for Republicans. I don't think there are nearly enough stupid House Republicans to make it work, but it is amusing to watch the Democrats try this angle.
Blogger Fen said..."And then they have the audacity to call us the rubes. It's almost funny until you remember these people are traitors attempting a coup against a duly elected President of the United States."
The true “constitutional crisis” is the concerted effort to “resist” or undermine the “norm” of a peaceful transfer of power after election.

Ann,
Yeah, I don't think HT is Andy Kaufman bright.
"I'm pushing impeachment, but like fine wine, only when it's time."
Yeah, I remember the old Paul Masson commercial with Orson Welles: We will push no wine... before it's time.
Interestingly, Paul Masson would have pushed his wine whenever he could. Pushed is more of a drug dealer word, so he had to say "sell," but don't kid yourself. It was pushing.
As for Orson Welles, he sold himself (and he pushed himself), but he waited until it was time, until his future was all used up.
"Yeah, I don't think HT is Andy Kaufman bright."
But it's funny to think so.
Why are you Althouse Hillbillies so scared to confront the obvious fact that it is Republicans around Trump (Pence, Priebus, probably Kellyanne, and those who support them) who are--in a very coordinated way--leaking highly damaging info about him?
When the planned impeachment comes I hope you Althouse Hillbillies won't fall for Republican calls for it to be expedited "for the good of the country."
But you will.
The Alien franchise is renowned in feminist film circle as the first blockbuster series of the era to deal with gender and sexual politics.
Of course! It feeds right into the dehumanization of the unborn child. I blogged about this years ago.
So, what was on the other side that was so important?
It's not really a joke per se, more of a description of an occasional event. Why didn't the other chickens cross the road? Because they wanted to stay where they were!
Ha-ha!!
I saw a california quail cross the road just yesterday and my first thought wasn't why it was doing it, but whether it was burning its feet on the hot asphalt. It clearly was trying to get out of the way of the bicyclist who was riding on the sidewalk, but why didn't it jump into the nearby bushes rather than crossing the street? I don't know! Why did the quail cross the street?
Stop laughing!
I thought "Alien" was political allegory actually. The communists infiltrating healthy societies and subverting them to create monsters. Very much a warning contra Gramsci.
Though mine may not be a popular view. The overt villains (spoiler alert) are amoral corporate interests.
Maybe a reconsideration of modern politics in this light would have, in "Alien", the amoral corporate interests sacrificing the common man in order to play footsie with the monsters of socialism. Some could then call it a Nazi movie.
And Sigourney Weaver is a Valkyrie.
"highly" "damaging"
Top. Men.
"Why are you Althouse Hillbillies so scared to confront the obvious fact that it is Republicans around Trump (Pence, Priebus, probably Kellyanne, and those who support them) who are--in a very coordinated way--leaking highly damaging info about him?"
-- Explain your actual reason for believing this. We know some things are leaked by Republicans, but we also know that many, many, many current government employees who are Obama appointees/hires are leaking, as well as former Obama hires/appointees. We also know several stories were made up whole cloth from anonymous sources, which could be Republicans or Democrats.
I have trouble envisioning how Mike Pence who had the courage (foolhardiness?) to sign on with Trump when he was a "sure loser" would now switch horses and try to run the man out of office. It might be possible, but I have a very difficult time imagining it happening. Politics is a nasty business but I am not convinced it has gotten that nasty yet in the US. Sure, there are a bunch of never-Trumpers left - the Bret Stephens of the world - but, as the WSJ notes in an editorial today, now is the time for Republicans to accomplish the things they have been harping on for 8 years. Creating a constitutional crisis is not going to help that project one bit.
Once written, be honest with yourself; the Dems have been talking up a variety of ways to "resist" the Trump administration and as each has failed they have escalated to the next level and the final one is impeachment. Only those (Dems, liberals, lefties, whatever) who are completely unaware of the seriousness and difficulty of impeachment (or just nuts) would continue to push that. The Dems have pushed it, the Dems are trying to quiet the noise about impeachment down. It is not in any Reublican's interest to get into an impeachment fight.
Some communities I've realized are bikes on the sidewalk communities. Which is how I grew up. But then when I lived in the same place decades later, it's a bikes on the street community.
Where I live now is a thoroughly bikes on the sidewalk community, even though there are bike lanes.
I think it has to do with serious bikers versus family style.
We're not a chicken community, though, which is probably due to HOA regulations. So I don't know their road crossing motivations.
Anderson Pooper has apologized, but the name will stick.
"Once written, be honest with yourself; the Dems have been talking up a variety of ways to "resist" the Trump administration and as each has failed they have escalated to the next level and the final one is impeachment."
-- The final resistance is violent resistance; I almost think we should let Trump be impeached so that Pence, who every Democrat will swear is a "Sane alternative to the madman Trump" can be made president to prevent violence from the crazier resistance members.
I don't think there are nearly enough stupid House Republicans to make it work, but it is amusing to watch the Democrats try this angle.
That is this week's theme. The DNC will come up with another one. Then they call us hillbillies.
The left has taken leave of its senses. I don't see the end of this because, if they give up this theme, what do they have ?
I recommend a holiday from the internet and the smelling of real life roses.
#10 just made my day. Just thinking about it is going to bring a smile to my face for the rest of the day.
Tcrosse wrote:

We need to know what role he played in the committing of those "high crimes and misdemeanors." We also need to know if he took part in a machiavellian plot with other Republicans to bring Trump down.
We need people to name names! And make lists!
If Trump is impeached, however unlikely it may seem, the state of the populist right is such that the blowback would be terrific, and, I think, deadly. You are a tissue-thickness away from wholesale political violence. And once it starts the cycle of suppression and radicalization and escalation will be very hard to stop.
Why did former FBI Director Comey cross the street?
Has it not occurred to anyone that the lynchpin to all of this is that Michael Flynn supposedly lied to Vice President Pence? (According to Pence.) Trump is now saying (according to those who are "close" to him and are leaking) that he regrets firing Flynn. Maybe even dumb Donald is figuring out that the cabal is organized from within?
Well done pad comment Paddy O. Almost made me laugh as hard as the original post.
"You are a tissue-thickness away from wholesale political violence."
-- There's already *been* political violence, we've just been lucky that the right has been patient and held back.
Trump closed a rally during the campaign under threat of violence. People were injured in Berkeley for listening to the wrong kind of speaker. It just is that the right has, save for the tax day protest, been very, very hesitant to go all-in.
However, enough people on the right have decided to embrace the rules the left have decided to play by, that yes, wholesale violence may very well occur.
"Trump is now saying (according to those who are "close" to him and are leaking) that he regrets firing Flynn."
-- Yet another statement that tells me the people saying it have never had to make difficult decisions in business.
There were employees on my teams that I've regretted seeing leave for various reasons, but some of them still needed to go. Sometimes it is like Old Yeller. You have to get rid of them, no matter how much you like them.
I'm pretty sure by "impeached" they mean issuing a vote-of-no-confidence by Congress and then calling for a new election this Fall. It's part of the "Do-over" clause, in one of the amendments of countries-to-be-determined later. A federal judge will come up with the legal justifications later.
Honestly though, the fact Trump has been willing to fire incompetent people and liars is a fresh change from both Bush and Obama, who had as huge flaws that they were blindingly loyal to people -- like Holder or Lerner for example for Obama -- that they just couldn't bring themselves to pull the trigger on obvious bad apples.
I am so tired of all the hate.
Paddy O -- Democrats are bit players in this unfolding drama. They control no committees and have no powers of investigation.
And you people are deluding yourselves saying it is "Obama holdovers" doing the leaking. The kind of information coming out of the West Wing would only be known by those closest to the President.
If Trump gets impeached then Democrats get President Pence.
If Trump gets impeached then Republicans get President Pence.
You do the math.
If someone fraudulently sold me Indian cotton in place of Egyptian cotton sheets, I could handle it. This item is not like the others......Anderson Cooper is personable but poop jokes are not in his wheelhouse. He would, however, be the ideal CNN reporter on the horrors of mislabeled Egyptian cotton sheets........ There's so much I don't know about femine hygiene products. This is a world that exists in another dimension.
I can remember Roseanne Barr telling a female audience about the time she put on a pad with the adhesive side UP.
OOWWWW!!!

Seth Rich experienced his political violence at the retail level.
History is instructive.
People never tire of hate, being "tired" of it is just an expression of anxiety.
Hate is an energizing drug that can persist across generations.
Once you start it and institutionalize it as the US has been doing, in the educational system and cultural memes, in place of the previous message of cultural and political unity, it is very difficult to remove.
Hate becomes a virtue, if for no other reason than it becomes an article of identity. You are good, and belong with the good people, if you hate those other guys.
If Obama had called Lois Lerner a "dumb shit" and publicly fired her, I would have been supportive of the move, but I think there would have been considerable blowback in other quarters. I support Trump's firing of Comey. It was the right thing to do, but it was done in such a way as to maximize blowback. There's no graceful way to fire someone, but scalpels are better choices than butcher knives for such procedures. Some of Trump's problems are caused by his own impulsivity, although that same impulsivity probably won him the election.

Ah, but they have fundraisers. And thus we come to the primary goal of progressive politicians in our age.
Which disgusts me. Because I very much support a lot of progressive ideals.
But the politicians are like televangelists, praying on the desperate and idealistic.

since religion is considered outre among the new class, politics has become the substitute, and the more radical the more appealing, islamist and nihilistic Jacobinism has become the new venues,
By all means investigate the murder of Seth Rich.
Has it not occurred to you Althouse Hillbillies that the Republican establishment, who did not want Trump to began with, once they realized they were stuck with him last summer started to set him up to take the big fall? Now they are control leaking everyday and it will only get worse.
Establishment Republicans don't like Trump's trade barriers. They don't like "The Wall" and the cutoff from cheap labor that comes with open boarders. They don't like Trump's proposed public spending on infrastructure. They secretly don't like repealing Obamacare. They also don't trust Trump not to turn on them.
Do it yourself fecal transplants.
Once: If the Republican Establishment didn't want Trump, they had many, many, many opportunities to torpedo him during the campaign, and routinely opted not to. I know you think that the Republican Establishment are just like the Democrats, but they actually have some semblance of respect for their voters.
Believe it or not, they're actually better at the whole "representative democracy" thing than the Democrats are when it comes to their primaries.
"preying"

A poor mountaineer, no roof over his head...
Sablan--the Republican Establishment tried to torpedo Trump all the way up to and including the convention last summer. (But, interestingly, not Priebus.) After that their best hope was to ride him into the White House and then deal with him.
That is what we are now seeing.

Is this so? Guys, I need answers.
"What unnerves Mr. Trump and his staff the most is the eerily familiar tempo of these disclosures. Pitch for feminine hygiene product commercial:
Aaron Rogers and Eli Manning sit together on some grass in the Peaceful Yoga Pose with lush plants and a couple huge rocks in the background. There's meditative music and you can hear faint gull cries and the sound of surf. Each cradles a coffee cup in both hands with his sleeves pulled down as makeshift hotpads. Another good point.
For once, "Once..." is correct.
However, this is, by this time, a rather conventional point that has become standard in the populist right. Its about time some of the local liberals have figured this out too. It took a while but eventually it will be understood by all.
What you have in Washington is a bipartisan system of institutional interests.
Which is why "Once..." , and others, should reconsider their opposition to Trump, and to draining the swamp. The big government is too big for democratic control, and its favors are too rich to avoid institutional capture and corporatism. People are fundamentally corruptible, and rich enough rewards will turn nearly all. A system that depends on individual virtue is guaranteed to fail.
Tolkiens was the great parable for this lesson.
In Washington the Nazgul are slavering to get the one ring back. And if you go to Washington its damn good odds you will turn into a Nazgul.

Mueller was appointed by deputy US Attorney Rod Rosenstein, who advised Trump to sack Comey and who was himself appointed personally by the president just last month after Trump sacked his predecessor Sally Yates for her refusal to implement his travel ban on selected brown people.
So, to be clear: Essentially, the president is being investigated by a guy hand-picked by the guy the president himself hand-picked to replace the chick he fired.
Shrewdly, Trump smells a conspiracy.
"With all of the illegal acts that took place in the Clinton campaign & Obama Administration, there was never a special councel appointed!" he tweeted late Thursday night Australian time.
This intervention was disquieting on three fronts.
First: Of the myriad snap responses available to an individual who has been falsely accused, "But look at what those other crims got away with!" does not rate in the Top 100 Most Suggestive Of Innocence.
I like seeing women give birth.
Its exciting, waiting to see whats going to show up.
There is a lot of guilt about the pain and all, but thats probably not a guilt I should have.
Its a lot better the second and third time. Maybe more so for more.

The big government is too big for democratic control, and its favors are too rich to avoid institutional capture and corporatism. People are fundamentally corruptible, and rich enough rewards will turn nearly all. A system that depends on individual virtue is guaranteed to fail.
When people write things like this it reveals a lack of knowledge of small government and small business, both also endemically corrupt. At least with big government people are paying attention, small time corruption largely goes unnoticed.
Who exactly hires all those illegal workers? It's not IBM.
As the only safe bearer of the One Ring was a most unsuitable and unworthy creature, in the eyes of so many the great and noble of Middle Earth, on this Earth so also they despise the Trump.
They would also like to possess the One Ring, to do all the great deeds of virtue they imagine themselves achieving, to their glory. While Trump wants (or says he wants) to destroy it.

They also don't trust Trump not to turn on them."
Reach behind your left ear, find the the brain's reset button and reset it. Once your brain has been rebooted and is operating normally you will realize that is exactly why Trump was elected, to kick the GOPe to the curb.
Small government and small business can be corrupt in small ways in small things, and are much less likely to significantly bother people. And they are much easier to avoid, or flee, or overcome.

No. Local government is a complete pain in the ass. And it is as corrupt as hell. Corrupt small businesses are no better. By appealing
to universalism, 'People are fundamentally corruptible', you destroy the your own argument. Corrupt people are a problem whoever they work for.
The Once Twice House did not respond to a request for comment on Mr. Big Mike's remarks.
the two things so many men look upon with disgust and horror—getting penetrated themselves, and watching a woman giving birth
Both my spouse and my brother said watching their wives give birth was an amazing thing to witness. And though it wasn't sexy to watch, it didn't seem to affect my spouse's libido. At all.
Yes local government can be a pain in the ass. If I dont like what they are about in Lafayette, I can go to Antioch or Orinda. Or if they are a PITB in CA, they can do like our friend, and so many others, and move to NV or TX.
Power corrupts. To limit corruption, limit power. Reality eventually deals with corruption. The consequences and fallout are smaller the smaller it is.
As Leaks Pile Up, It’s Evident Trump Is Under Attack From His Own Staff
This doesn't sound good:
Roger Stone said..
wiretaps should be placed on “suspected leakers – including [deputy national security adviser Dina Powell and national security adviser H.R. McMaster] and the scum [Trump] has surrounded himself with.”
Corrupt people are a problem whoever they work for."
ARM pontificates on virtue while voting for Democrats. Cognitive dissonance or just plain old hypocrisy?

So break up all the big businesses? Only mom and pop stores from here on out?
Trump Officials: ‘He Looks More and More Like a Complete Moron’
Donald Trump and his senior staffers were headed across the Atlantic when news broke that the president had trash-talked former FBI Director James Comey in a meeting with Russian government officials.
“I just fired the head of the FBI. He was crazy, a real nut job,” Trump told Russia’s foreign minister and ambassador to the United States, according to an official written account of the meeting. “I faced great pressure because of Russia. That’s taken off,” Trump promised.
The White House confirmed that Trump made the remarks in a Friday afternoon statement, but insisted that the president was simply attempting to elicit concessions from the Russians.
Concessions?
It's hard to beat expressing a dog's impacted anal glands for sick-making disgust.
I think it would probably suffice to remove or reduce the incentives to consolidation and barriers to entry. Reduce the terms of copyright and patent protection, reduce regulatory overhead (which scales extremely well, and promotes big vs small business very effectively), reduce corporate taxes to promote retained earnings and build small-medium business capital formation, etc. And liability laws and precedents should be overridden, as dealing with legal risk also scales up very well.
No doubt you can come up with a pile of these on your own, just think about it.
The Rolling Stone piece, like several at Slate after Ailes's death, are examples of a tendency of leftist writers to produce screeds full of hate, insult, and vituperation, the them of which is that the target of the screed is a merchant of hatred.
The clanging lack of self-awareness in one after another of these tone-deaf pieces remains inexplicable. Even leftists who don't make this mistake themselves are loath to provide any constructive criticism.
So they'll keep on nominating candidates like Hillary Clinton and losing elections.
Maxine! 2020! (maybe John Lewis can sign on for Veep).
Power corrupts. To limit corruption, limit power. Reality eventually deals with corruption. The consequences and fallout are smaller the smaller it is.
Well expressed, buwaya! The problem here is how to wrest power from the feds. We know they won't relinquish it willingly.
This "anonynous source" person sure gets around..
If Der Staat took a dump on most "liberals" (and by "liberals" I mean of course "tax-happy, coercion-addicted, power-tripping State fellators") they'd only be disappointed it didn't turn out to be a blumpkin.
Someday some interview subject is going to give Anderson Cooper a good, hard punch in the mouth on camera. You want civility? Be civil. Otherwise expect a good, hard punch in the mouth.
Even with apology, good for his ratings..and rallies the poops.
Re: Cooper - Poofters will be poofters. He should marry Shep Smith and run away.
Oh no is Anderson Cooper having exrement fantasies? I mean isn't he getting any lately?
The White House confirmed that Trump made the remarks in a Friday afternoon statement,
How about a link to the :confirmation?"
I found this.
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer did not deny Trump made the comment but instead blamed the media on Friday for pulling focus from national security issues.
"By grandstanding and politicizing the investigation into Russia's actions, James Comey created unnecessary pressure on our ability to engage and negotiate with Russia," Spicer said.
That is not CONFIRMATION.
If Trump took a dump on Anderson Cooper's desk, Jeffrey Lord would defend it, but I expect Anderson Cooper would eat it when no one is looking.

"Who exactly hires all those illegal workers? It's not IBM."
That's because IBM is the largest employer of H1Bs in the US, and outsources more of its workforce than most. See other comments about regulatory capture.

And this is just dawning on you now?
What the fuck

You might want to rethink your 'hillbilly' meme.
