When I lived in the Chicago 'burbs I had the best peonies. They were spectacular although I don't know why. They grew next to the house in the worst backfill soil. I never did anything to help them along. My only guess is that the red brick wall behind them provided warmth in the sometimes chilly May days.

The kids would come take some for their mom's on mother day.

Insouciant pony.

I had two plants and each would produce about 60 blooms a piece. Just planted 4 more but it takes two years to get big enough to have good flowers

Donald Trump: "Incontinent? Pee on me."

I wonder if the various flowers know they're being so closely observed. And if these observations are somehow altering their normal behavior.

Therefore, may I request a macro of the garden? So that no one flower will feel self-conscious.

Wow,Trump has ruined the New Yorker cartoons, even. Kind of a shame.

No ants. I like it best when they are covered with ants.

My peonies stopped blooming, and I don't know why. Sniff. Like I mean sad sniff, not flower sniff.

Snark,
Does the soil drain poorly? or are they in too much shade. Poor drainage kills peonies that and the wilts that follow

Glad it's peony season again ... sad its such a short season.

"My peonies stopped blooming, and I don't know why."

1. Change in light--they need 4-6 hours of direct sun.
2. Too crowded--may need to divide or move.
3. Have exhausted soil--need to fertilize
4. Weather issues prior year
5. Lost foliage or you cut back or removed foliage too soon
6. They never did like you and got tired of pretending.

LOL @ David :)

Thanks...of those possibilities I think light, soil and my terrible personality are the best candidates for remediation. I'll google!
