So I don't know why we need to be so quick to condemn him out of hand--it's possible he did none of this, or that what he did was mild (maybe the "groping" was an unwelcome advance that he stopped when it was rejected).
But these days just the accusation is enough to get you a scarlet "R" and get writers to do think pieces about how your white male privilege gets you out of trouble and how wrong it is for you to be applauded for your work when you're such a predator.
And why all the focus on him being "white"? His race has literally nothing to do with any of this.

What's a little sexual assault if it's in service of a lofty goal like celebrating what it is to be human? We all know that at the heart of liberty is the right to define one's own concept of existence, of meaning, of the universe, and of the mystery of human life, so how much MORE important it must be to actually CELEBRATE those things! Why, it's damn-near unAmerican to even think about constraining an artist's ability to do that--you Affleck-accusers aren't some kind of godless Commies, are you?!?
(Viola Davis, it must be remembered, was stunningly good in the underappreciated series I'll Fly Away (w/Sam Waterson) in the early 90's and was painfully bad in the recent Suicide Squad movie...so it's a mixed bag, there.)
