"The real scandal here is that classified information is illegally given out by 'intelligence' like candy. Very un-American!"

Tweets Trump, quoted in a NYT article titled "Trump Condemns Leaks to News Media in a Flurry on Twitter."

Also in the flurry:
“This Russian connection non-sense is merely an attempt to cover-up the many mistakes made in Hillary Clinton’s losing campaign”...
And:
“Information is being illegally given to the failing @nytimes & @washingtonpost by the intelligence community (NSA and FBI?). Just like Russia”
Underlying NYT article on the front page right now, "Trump Campaign Aides Had Repeated Contacts With Russian Intelligence." Excerpts from that:
The intelligence agencies... sought to learn whether the Trump campaign was colluding with the Russians on the hacking or other efforts to influence the election. The officials interviewed in recent weeks said that, so far, they had seen no evidence of such cooperation....

The officials said that one of the advisers picked up on the calls was Paul Manafort.... Mr. Manafort, who has not been charged with any crimes, dismissed the officials’ accounts in a telephone interview on Tuesday. “This is absurd,” he said. “I have no idea what this is referring to. I have never knowingly spoken to Russian intelligence officers, and I have never been involved with anything to do with the Russian government or the Putin administration or any other issues under investigation today.” He added, “It’s not like these people wear badges that say, ‘I’m a Russian intelligence officer.’”

Bye Birkel, no one will miss you. Why do you think that it would be disrespectful to Meade and Althouse to stay? Do you think they don't like what's being discussed? I doubt they care if people here discuss the subject matter of the blog post. It's odd that you even made that comment.

"Flynn wouldn't have lied about doing so if there wouldn't have been evidence."

He, apparently, lied to Trump, the ring-master. What sense does that make?

Anonymous said...

He lied to Trump? Really? He never said he lied to Trump, he said he lied to Pence and Priebus.

I wasn't going to feed the troll, but HTF did anyone know, outside possibly the bowels of the NSA, when Flynn talked to the Ruskies, or what was said, without federal felonies having been committed in disclosing that information?

And I doubt Trump is the ring leader.

Sorry Bruce, but I don't respond to trolls.

I've been recommending since before the inauguration, that the deep state was going to have to be purged. Fire all the political hires from Obama. Sometimes as a show of good will lower level types are allowed to carry over. Find out who the moles are.(It is known or soon will be, just not provable) Ship them out of DC New Mexico, Utah, Montana, N. Dakota. You get the Idea. Start making examples of the criminal. Being in DC is like breathing to these people. Split them up, and ship them out.

"And I doubt Trump is the ring leader."

But Trump is the guy who owes all the money or committed the crime.

As the day goes along, the threads become more infested with trolls.

Too bad.

"No, there is evidence. It hasn't been published yet. Wait until after the investigation results are made public." That's exactly what some people are saying about "Pizzagate" - the truth is out there, we just have to look for it! Such people are considered fools even by 99% of Hillary-haters.

Anonymous said...

Too bad Michael the troll doesn't have anything interesting to say.

The NYTs, WaPo, and any number of mainstream publications cannot be compared to fake news sights that published Pizzagate crap. That you can't discern the difference is a failure on your part.

Dr Weevil said...

That someone with "SockPuppet" in her name keeps calling other people "trolls" suggests an extreme lack of self-knowledge. That she cannot see the similarity between herself and the Pizzagaters, even more so. That she doesn't know the difference between "news sights" and news sites is just icing on the cake. I guess she thinks calling others "trolls" will somehow make her into something better than a common troll herself.

Original Mike said...

"OM. Trump is the useful idiot of Putin."

I don't know how to interpret this in light of your hypothesis that Trump owes money or committed a crime.

Birkel said...

The National Enquirer published the Clinton-Lewinsky story that every "mainstream publication" knew was true but refused to publish.

Weevil. A sock puppet and a troll are not the same thing. If someone calls me a troll, they can expect me to reciprocate. I've spelled it both ways, you insect. Site and sight, it doesn't matter unless you are only trying to pick a fight. Now that I know you are a troll, I won't bother with you.

These are the publications the haven't published the data yet?

Birkel: Out of respect for Meade and Althouse, we should leave this thread.

The happy confluence of virtue and "I'm bugging out 'cause I'm bored outta my gourd".

"Trump is the useful idiot of Putin." As opposed to our brave, pro-American CiC O, who reset relations, withdrew missile defense systems, stood by when the Russians took Crimea, accommodated Russia's Syria intervention, told Medvedev that he would have more flexibility after the election, tolerated Russian arms sales to Iran, mocked Romney for declaring Russia an adversary--and only really got pissed off when the Russians appeared to help reveal the truth about Dem communications, which of course was intolerable.

Hint to the troll who thinks calling others trolls makes her not one: when a thread reaches 221 comments and the same person wrote 35 of them (15.8%), that person is either an unusually argumentative site-owner (rare but attested) or an unusually tedious troll. It would be good if she wouldn't bother with this site at all, but she's very likely paid to be here and her shift just ended. Of course, if she became a site-owner by starting her own blog, she'd be unlikely to attract even a tiny fraction of the pathetic and unfriendly attention she gets here, so that's not going to happen.

I wonder: if Trump really digs into the criminal activities of the deeply-disloyal opposition, will we find out the names of some of the trolls they've been paying to comment here and elsewhere? And not just their troll-names but their 'real-life' identities? Could be interesting! (I don't mean to imply that being a paid troll is necessarily criminal: it's just that that's the sort of thing that might be revealed along the way while identifying 'black bloc' thugs and felonious leakers of classified information, and finding out who's paying them - probably the same people paying the trolls.)

Insect,

This is a subject I'm very interested in, therefore I've posted many comments. What's to you? What I see you doing here is trying to pick a fight, which is odd. I know you don't like what I am saying, I don't care. I have a right to express my opinion, as do you. Your antagonism is bizarre. You come across as creepy. I think you could learn a lesson from Original Mike, try to emulate him. Now my shift is over and I will get a really big check for all the comments I've posted today. Whoopie! Thank you George Soros!

Do another line.

Poor Trolly the SockPuppet apparently hasn't noticed that I've been commenting here for many years, and that my comments are generally substantive, and only turn negative when someone posts something unusually stupid or dishonest, or goes on and on and on with silly comments, or (as often happens) both. My 8:26pm comment was not an attempt to "pick a fight", rather an attempt to shame a silly troll into either upping her game and posting substantive comments, or just going away and leaving the conversation to the grownups. Of course, 'SockPuppet#55' is very likely a new name for an old troll, which would mean that she knows very well that I'm not a troll, but prefers to lie about it.

Anonymous said...

Oh bullshit insect, you are most certainly a troll. I've been around Althouse since 2011 and I've run into you several times and in every instance you are a creepy, antagonistic jerk, who oftentimes only comments to attack a liberal commenter, without adding anything substantive to the discussion. So insect, here is my advice for you, go fuck yourself you busybody asshole.

Original Mike said...

Ouch, that's master-class trolling.

He's probably Birkel. There was a distinct giveaway. When he counted my comments and put a percentage on them . I did the very same thing to him about a week ago when he posted about 40% of the comments on that particular thread, lol. They should all be like you Original Mike. Now I'm off to bed to dream up how to spend all my Soros money.

Dr Weevil said...

You've been around since 2011, SockPuppet#55? Your pseudonym has only been around for a month or two. So who were you before? Can you provide us a complete list of names? It's the only decent thing to do. Changing pseudonyms without notice is deeply dishonest, and typical troll behavior.

It's also deeply dishonest to write "Now that I know you are a troll, I won't bother with you" as if you'd never argued with me before, and then admit that you've been suffering my "attacks" (meaning criticisms) for years. So who were you before? There have been quite a few foul-mouthed kneejerk lefty commenters here over the years: I'd like to know which one I'm dealing with now.

Interesting that the troll accuses me of sockpuppeting: all the more reason why she should reveal her previous identities. Of course, I have never posted here as anyone except Dr. Weevil. I have met YoungHegelian in real life, but that is my only connection to any other commenter.

@sock: I posted this question earlier. You responded to part of the post.

You must have just forgotten this part:

"On the other hand, the mediaswine recipients of material illegally disclosed by intelligence personnel now have quite a hammer over those sleazebags, don't they?"

I guess there is no reason to worry about people in the intelligence community being subject to blackmail by politicized reporters if it furthers the lefty agenda, right?

Another baby hunt. More fallout from Clinton's Water Closet. They never did identify Deep Plunger.

I wonder what other national secrets will be leaked by the Obama and Clinton factions. The special and peculiar interests, Left, Right, and Center, and JournoLists, must be getting nervous that their cover-up of the trails of tears from Benghazi to Syria to Kiev and refugee crises will be exposed or leveraged by the new administration. Just need to clear out establishment subversives.
