October 7, 2016

What Donald Trump said into a hot microphone back in 2005.

"I moved on her and I failed. I'll admit it. I did try and fuck her. She was married. I moved on her like a bitch, but I couldn't get there. And she was married... Then all of a sudden I see her, she's now got the big phony tits and everything. She's totally changed her look.... Whoa! I've gotta use some tic tacs, just in case I start kissing her. You know I'm automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It's like a magnet. Just kiss. I don't even wait. And when you're a star they let you do it. You can do anything ... Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything."

Trump immediately issued an apology, an apology that took a shot a Bill Clinton:
This was locker room banter, a private conversation that took place many years ago. Bill Clinton has said far worse to me on the golf course - not even close. I apologize if anyone was offended.
If anyone was offended. Is there any chance that no one was offended?!

Hillary Clinton immediately tweeted: "This is horrific. We cannot allow this man to become president." And Tim Kaine said:
"I don't like to say the words that he's used in the past when he calls women, 'pigs, dogs and slobs' ... but this is behavior that's just outrageous and so that there would be a news story that would have more statements like this of this kind, I mean, gosh, I'm sad to say that I'm not surprised. I should be surprised and shocked. I'm sad to say that I'm not."
Yes, Tim Kaine is right. Trump's statement — which is itself only words — is a confession to behavior.

Criminal behavior. Sexual assault.

Trump needs to control his fantasies.

So, it's Clinton and Pro-Choice including class diversity, selective exclusion, female chauvinism, progressive wars, mass emigration, anti-native policies, trickle-up poverty, scientific mysticism, abortion rites, and Planned Parenthood.

It's still the lesser evil.

Nonsense. Criminal nonsense. Hillary Clinton is the death of the Republic and you're trying to parse out kisses and squeezes. We knew that he was sexually adventurous. This is baked in and when you have said "he has a chest wound" you do not get extra points for "and it was bleeding, man! And bubbling, and it made this sound..." for people who revel in the grotesque, which is you, but then don't get shirty about it.

This story to the extent that it means anything, is froth, mere detail. As Trump says, Clintons have said and done worse. Ann, if Hillary Clinton wins, I prophesy that things will be very bad for you, you yourself, personally. It will be that kind of world.

There already is another one.

Trump just insisted that those 5 suspects in the "Central Park jogger" case--26 years ago!--were guilty, even though they were exonerated when someone else confessed and DNA evidence proved that person was indeed the real perpetrator.

26 years have elapsed, practically a whole generation, and Trump is still talking about the case, long after the case was closed.

Trump is just hopeless. Hopeless.

Trump's supporters foisted this hopeless character on the rest of us. Shame on them.

I agree but all of the Trumpsters will find an excuse to ignore the obvious and forgive him because Bill Clinton, John Kennedy and Aunt Matilda's son Jeffy did the very same thing. If sexual assault was ever imposed on any woman, then Donald is good - because he is like all other men!

Well at 60 in the locker room he was talking like a high school quarterback who had laid the homecoming queen and her entire court from one end to the other; and in the girl's locker room the homecoming queen was talking about how she'd drained that football stud dry. And Billy Jeff Clinton is reliably reported to have complained that he'd had only 2,000 women and would never catch up to basketball great Wilt Chamberlain's twenty thousand notches on the bedpost.

So am I offended? Only in that folks are getting upset about the Trumpster's relative chump change escapades in the bedroom and boasting about it in the locker room. Grow up people. Hillary boasted about getting a guilty rapist off with a defense verdict.

Oh for christ's sake, you precious little snowflake. It's only "assault" if it's "unwanted," which the lawyers have done us all the service/disservice of saying means that it's the woman's discretion. His own words say that the acts ARE wanted, and if you actually think women aren't attracted to the power/fame/money he had then then you need to go back and re-think the entire body of case law on this stuff, or take a biology course or something. Of course it's possible that these acts were unwanted, but no woman's come forward with such a charge (unlike with your Hillary's husband) so there's no reason to use his own exculpatory words to presume guilt when no one's charged anything but innocence. The law doesn't say how a guy's supposed to KNOW that something's wanted/unwanted - so you have no standing to presume he was wrong in concluding that they were wanted.

And now we know which field is complicit in leading the decline of our universities into intellectually unsuccessful drone-factories of sexless PC weirdos who want to (and think they can) re-make society in their own boring and evolutionarily and culturally backward image: THE LAW.

Fuck this noise. GO back whence the rock from under which you came. Your attempt to regulate human nature will fail just like any other. Like all the others. If you want to wear a chastity belt that's fine, but stop putting one on all the other women whom you feel are so wrong to convey their attraction/lack of sexual hostility toward their perception of male success.

Just go away. Your kind have done enough damage to society.

Also, I thought it was common knowledge that some women, called groupies, throw themselves at famous and successful men.

Not in Professor's mind/field. Nothing can be presumed. A girl goes up to a guy's place and they're making out, that's not consent. If she takes off her clothes and gets on top of him, even that might not be consent. Heck, she might have had a drink from a flask stowed away in her purse and you'd have never known it.

And that's what the universities think they can do. Completely do away with any natural presumption of a consensual act, along with the idea that mixed signals are not criminal. They actually think that human beings will be indoctrinated as young adults to verbally provide a description of the sex act to which they are consenting - as if this were a goddamn BDSM contract. Human nature cannot be artificially constructed by emotionally fragile and perpetually offended human nature non-experts with too much time on their hands and not enough people to aspire to control already.

But try they will. No non-verbal contexts, no acceptability of mixed signals. Human sex units are robot drones who require a fucking visible checklist, just like we do for pilots about to fly a 747 and surgeons as they scrub in. Because having a little fun, getting passionate, and possibly maneuvering each other's bodies, hands, lips, tongues and clothing such that the abomination of a penis entering a vagina might occur, is nothing short of brain surgery in the danger it poses. Emotionally. Socially. Politically.

These people are their own parodies. Just a complete bunch of jokes. Puritans who feel that the witch is inside of them, and that a penis might accidentally knock it out. And that would scare the pants off these people.

My childhood terrier was more interesting than these people. Had more to offer society, too.

The Big Law industries and Big University Glut industry have conspired to make sex the passionless equivalent of naked tea time. With pinkies in the air, fully clothed in best dresses, much oversight and supervision... until even young girls will be able to convince their mothers to let them "practice" at it.

The best way to learn is by example. How do Larry and Annie get it on while being assured that one is not assaulting the other? I seriously want a video demonstration. You know, it is possible for a spouse to rape their spouse, after all.

I'm not joking. I need to see how this is done, for real. So that I know. Just because I'm not someone who hates my genitals or sexuality or libido or passion as much as our betters on this blog and in the ivory tower are. I'm handicapped in not hating my anatomy/physiology as much as the most advanced and influential feminist hates hers. So her perspective is one I will never intuitively "get".

I need a demonstration from the blog-owners. Pronto.

In a better world, not even close to an ideal one, we would have at least one candidate who was moral and upstanding.

You have that world. No one's preventing your church from holding elections on whom to lead it.

Heck. Even the pope's decided by some type of decision-making process.

People who require psychological purity are not meant to be solving the actual, real-world human problems that secular politics alone offers the chance to do something useful about. But first the purity must be put aside.

Whats moral and upstanding? Being well behaved about sex?
Whats so special about sex as an occasion for sin?
Or for that matter as an issue in politics?

In the old days most men of substance anywhere kept mistresses, and few used such confidences or scandals in politics. Such as there were were memorable because they were rarely used. The Victorians weren't terribly Victorian.

I support this. It really does work better as a response to the public will, and a true check&balance than the current US system, especially after the rise of the bureaucratic state.
The all-powerful bureaucracy has broken the US political model.
There is no check on that through normal politics in the US. With a parliament you do, or do better.

A parliamentary system also avoids the worst of the truly stupid personal politics of the US system. You vote for a legislature, voting for a representative and/or a party. It is more of a professional relationship, not a personal one.

I'm not debating it!

I'm asking to know where the presumption of non-consent ends.

Professor doesn't have an answer. And the universities say make it all verbal. Every time. All the time.

WHich begs the question of what documentation or evidence is acceptable/necessary for THAT. You know, if you didn't record it on your cell phone, it didn't happen.

Every now and then you hear about some Muslim countries that say a man can't rape his wife.

That used to happen here. That's why there's nothing wrong with revising the standard to make sure it's understood that matrimony is no rape accusation shield. So it's ok to go as far as they want there.

What I'm asking is if there is any standard for actual consent. Or at least, non-criminality in sexual activity. Cause I don't think there is one. I think that the Puritan PC Police controlling our society through the kids that we've closed off blue collar work to won't stop. There is no bright line around which they will draw a boundary and say, "Ok. Now THAT IS consent!"

And that's because their motivation is anti-sex. And anti-nature. Not anti-rape.

Not anymore they don't. They can't afford to buck the executive who can threaten them with a shutdown, which he(or she) completely controls. The system is much too important for too many people to make this politically viable.

They can't even pick & choose what parts to fund and not fund. The executive can retaliate, easy-peasy, just make it a horrorshow with something vital.

And, as the system controls the press (or the parts of it with the balance of political influence, so far) and the schools, and all the bien pensants, the interpretation of all this will be under the executives control.

You have an authoritarian system with no checks&balances.

Anyway, it all depends on who controls the press. No Republicans or conservatives will get fair treatment no matter what, the entire system is centrally controlled. It does not matter a bit if the executive is popular, the Democrat does not need to be sold to the publicity machine that's his organizational ally. This is a corporatist system.

Name any bad thing Trump is supposed to have done and Bill with Hillary did it worse and also they did things Trump has never done. They stole more, corrupted more people at a higher level, attacked more women, ruined a political party, lowered the tone of political life, cynically exploited black loyalty, did trade deals that were bad for Americans in return for cash payoffs, supported abortion, betrayed allies, abandoned the ambassador and his protectors, jailed innocent people.

The Wapo doesn't put these things on the front page but these are all things that did happen or are happening to people. And more and worse will happen to people if Hillary is elected and the Wapo won't cover those events either.

So I see the lefty outrage as selective. Today - bad Trump. Tomorrow for the same thing but worse - good Hillary. And if they can disregard the steaming pile of manure that is piled in the Bill and Hill past then we can disregard the smaller pile in the Trump past. And if we don't - then the USA will become just another group, just some people Bill and Hill can use, abuse and kick into the gutter. So choose the best you can get. I say Trump is the better choice.

Well then maybe they have a point, Matt. You actually think university PC culture is leading in this society? On sex, gender, class, or racial progress? I have a bridge to sell you if you do. Universities are following socially, not leading - and they're not even following well. And degrading themselves into a narrow concept of civic life where critical thinking makes no difference.

The universities have become a scam; their "scholarship" in the non-sciences no less so. You can't have a tripling of admissions and tuition rates, a complete shutting down of manufacturing and all non-college paths to a decent living and think that the quality of what goes on there wouldn't suffer. I'm surprised they don't print college diplomas on McDonalds receipts.

True, in spades. This even in "good" schools, in the UC's.

"I'm surprised they don't print college diplomas on McDonalds receipts."

In some schools they may as well. Warm body is all that's needed.

"If you think this is a right-wing argument then more power to you. It's basic reality"

True. The Soviet Union would not have tolerated the stupidity and laxness of US schools. They would have had their own version of PC but they certainly would have taught literature.

I don't know if ALL the problem is due to watering-down. You see the same low standards in K-12 where universal attendance was always the norm. And you see low standards even in colleges that, to the degree that SAT/ACT testing means something, have not reduced their intake standards. Still, you have a point about a great many, they have indeed relaxed intake standards.

Why is this comment getting such traction? I don't even get it. Who's the porn star? Both Trump and Hillary are in love with their own self-images, so I'd say both. But Hillary seems like getting paid for selling herself a lot more than Trump does. Trump doesn't mind walking away from a deal that he feels offended by. Can someone tell me when Hillary's ever walked away from a financial offer... of any sort?

I don't mind porn stars. "Whores" seem a little less savory, but who knows what's a "whore" any more in this money-means-everything-your-life-means-nothing culture. I do know that slut shaming is stupid - because the gatekeepers on who defines a slut are the girls in school who know how little they have to offer a guy other than the promise of what's between her legs. I think the sluts are actually better people, because they seem to be rightly more confident of their ability to impress with their personalities, intelligence and all the other things that AREN'T just between their legs. They don't look at their pussies as the last chance to impress - break glass only in case of emergency.

The problem is you are overthinking it. Trump's words here pretty much speak for themselves and just because some 'normal' people talk like doesn't mean it's not news and it doesn't mean women won't find them a tad offensive. You also have bigger fish to fry but they are meaningless because politics is gut level [and gutter level] most of the time. But we are free to be offended every so often. Clearly Republicans are offended by the Clintons but it's not as if their escapades have not been reported. Is there a voter alive who doesn't know about Bill's affairs? Some are offended while some are not. Same applies to Trump's words [and maybe actions?]. I call it a wash.
