That's really scraping the bottom of the Barrel of Feminisms.

"To find Hillary Clinton likable, we must learn to view women as complex beings."

Did that article really argue that we have been conditioned to support Walter White for president because he's white?

It would help if her voice didn't sound like a broken oboe.

It's very simple: we don't like her because she is (really) unlikeable. She is a scheming, lying, corrupt, rape enabling, unpleasant, dishonest, over ambitious, selfish, secretive, vengeful, thoroughly despicable human being. Were she a man she would be just as unlikeable. A village, as Patrick O'Brian says, is rarely wrong in its judgements of a person.

Viewing Hillary! as complex does nothing for her likability.

I don't recall many saying Margaret Thatcher being likeable? But she was respected. Or Angela Merkel?

To like Hillary Clinton, I need either a frontal lobotomy or a [really big] bottle in front of me.

To find Hillary Clinton likable she'd have to be BORN AGAIN and raised by Harriet and Ozzie Nelson.

To find Hillary Clinton likable you will have to cough up some money.

I have quite a few liberal friends who also don't understand why HRC is so unpopular. When I tell them she's incredibly corrupt, they say "Like, how?". I tell them about Exhibit A. They go "Well, yeah, but.." Then Exhibit B. They go "Well, yeah, but..". And so it continues. I finally ask them some ways through the examples "Just how many "Well, yeah, buts" is a presidential candidate supposed to get?".

What it's really about for these people is that Virtue is simply a matter of correct ideology, & has nothing to do with any sort of private/public behavior. But, we all knew this, * have for years. I mean, hells-bells, Ted Kennedy got to kill someone with his incompetency, & the good voters of Massachusetts still saw him as fit for office.

Yes, me too, and if you check the hyperlink for that, it takes you to nothing more substantial than a mere assertion by Obama that this is true. And it's not even very hard to find several presidents with better qualifications than eight years as a senator and four years as a secretary of state. John Quincy Adams and Martin Van Buren would be just two examples that immediately come to mind. George H.W. Bush too, for that matter.

Found any with 8 years as co-president?

GHWB was Vice President for eight years (in addition to his myriad other qualifications). That's more impressive than a fake "co-President".

If she was ever "co-president" in any meaningful sense at all, that came to a crashing halt when it became obvious with her proposed healthcare plan (that even a Democratic Congress immediately rebuffed), that she had no real understanding of how American politics works.

Feminism or female chauvinism is progressive as in an ancient artifact from the dark fringes of the human mind. Ironically, the traditional humanity of a religious/moral philosophy that identifies the separation of logical domains, acknowledges the moral principle of individual dignity, and recognizes the intrinsic value of human life is conservative post-liberal (i.e. variant).

To find Hillary likeable we must accept her as a bigot who is a class diversitist, social justice adventurists and warmonger, anti-native proponent, trickle-up economist (i.e. redistributive change), and supporter/advocate of abortion rites.

Once you got past the laugh out loud kneeslapper "most qualified candidate ever", and read a little further you discovered that Donald Trump had coasted through this election season without being criticized at all, while Hillary had suffered all sorts of criticism.

I don't know what world "Caroline" is living in, but it ain't in Planet Reality.

And as for most qualified ever, let's muse on the background of a few post WW II Presidential candidates; Hillary comes up short in comparison.

Harry Truman--military veteran; county executive in Kansas--at least a dozen years in Congress; head of a prominent Senate investigative committee; Vice President for about 4 months until FDR died--then serving as President for almost 4 years before becoming a candidate for President in 1948

Compared to Harry, Hillary's resume is looking a little thin.

Lyndon Baines Johnson--barefoot Texas boy comes to Washington in FDR's New Deal--has various jobs in the bureaucracies; gets elected to Congress, goes down to South Pacific as a officer in the Navy [courtesy appointment that] gets shot at and gets gets shot at --sort of like the sniper fire in Bosnia--gets a medal that is at least as valid as any held by Jean Fraud Kerry; then elected to Senate--in an election rife with voter fraud; becomes perhaps the most powerful Senate Majority leader of the 20th Century; becomes JFK's Vice President and after assasinaton of JFK pushes civil rights legislation through---all this before he becomes a candidate for President in 1964.

Compared to LBJ, Hillary's preparation as candidate for President looks a little thin.

Now we get to old tricky Dick. Practicing lawyer--graduated from Duke, passed the bar exam on his first go around (unlike Hillary) serves as an actual military officer in the Navy in WW II, elected to Congress, then to Senate, tapped by Eisenhower to be vice president for eight years. Runs and loses to JFK--well there's a comparison for Hillary--runs and loses to Obama. Does 8 years as VP equate to four years of flying around as Secretary of State?

I think Nixon was better qualified as a Presidential candidate in `1968 than Hillary is as Presidential candidate in 2016.

But Nixon had a reputation as an isolated, socially awkward, mendacious and mean man.

Well that's one place where Hillary wins hands down. She's isolated, socially awkward, a world class liar and a spiteful bitter person. so on that metric, she's more qualified than Nixon.

Believing in Hillary Clinton's niceness is like swallowing that magic root from the Amazon - it smells terrible, tastes worse and makes you sick up over everyone. But some see all that as a mystic journey from which one returns with new knowledge, knowledge not quantifiable perhaps, or expressible, no not that - but deep ...swamp deep. And believing that Hillary is nice, swallow that, get that down - and yes, yes, the world will become a different place, every value altered, all you knew gone, swamp, Gaia - yesss, bucket, I need the bucket. Sorry, person crouched next to me. But now I believe in Hillary. Bucket, quick. bucket.

Unfortunately, not only was Heisenberg not a Jew, he was a Lutheran who shamefully stuck with Nazi Germany (as opposed to Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a Lutheran pastor who participated in an assassination attempt on Hitler, failed, and was hung for it).

"... The Clinton Foundation spent a hair under $91.3 million in 2014, the organization’s IRS filings show. But less than $5.2 million of that went to charitable grants.

That number pales in comparison to the $34.8 million the foundation spent on salaries, compensation and employee benefits.
Another $50.4 million was marked as “other expenses,” while the remaining almost $851K was marked as “professional fundraising expenses."...

Just 5.7 Percent Of Clinton Foundation Budget Actually Went To Charitable Grants

this information would finish anyone else off.

...in order to understand Hillary Clinton you have to understand what it feels like to face a lifetime of sexism.

What codswallop. Hillary Clinton has not faced a lifetime of sexism. To the contrary, largely due to her connection to a particular man, she has enjoyed a lifetime of favoritism and privilege. In fact, I'll go so far as to say that no woman of Hillary's generation has faced a lifetime of sexism. Only a feminist with a chip on her shoulder and a sense of unfulfilled entitlement would claim so.

Hillary isn't liked because she isn't likable.

Mary Jo Kopechne did not die because Ted Kennedy was incompetent. He left her and attempted to cover up the fact that he was ever in the car. She didn't drown. She suffocated. The real cause of death was Ted Kennedy. And it was more than the "the good voters of Massachusetts still saw him as fit for office"...it was the entire Democratic Party....the entire left. I am so glad that fucker is dead, and I hope it hurt. Bad.

I love the constant "she's the most qualified person to ever run for the White House". They never LIST the qualifications.

And Romney was measurably more qualified in every single area. Didn't see Dems obsessed about qualifications then.

Did that article really argue that we have been conditioned to support Walter White for president because he's white?

Obviously.

This was gold:

And our entertainment doesn’t help us understand Clinton either. Our movies, books, and TV shows are filled with attractive female love interests, badass female warriors, hissable female villains, and bumbling female leads. But we don’t have very many female protagonists who are allowed to be flawed in ways that are messily realistic not just charmingly endearing. We haven’t been taught to empathize with flawed women the way we have with flawed men.

Because if had women like that as characters, FEMINISTS WOULD BITCH ABOUT IT AND DEMAND CHANGES.

Ted Kennedy got to kill someone with his incompetency, & the good voters of Massachusetts still saw him as fit for office.

Hell, Dems and the media (I know, I repeat myself) viewed him as an ICON.
