Awww. I just can't understand why a bunch of college students don't want to show up to a meeting that involves them getting hectored & yelled at by some of the most pissed-off & deranged of their cohort.

They're freaking self-actualized! They don't need some dumb forum. The people who want to study and go about their lives because they don't realize how pissed they should be at this week's outrage are the ones who need to attend.

My thoughts exactly, Mary Beth. Not even the students who wanted it went. Ha hahaha!

People need to stop giving outsize attention to complainers. With social media, it's so easy to make things seem so huge, and companies and institutions haven't figured out how to deal with it yet. But the truth is we've made it easier to get attention because you are outraged than because you are a big success. We reward both about equally, but outrage is so much easier. Social media and 24/7 cable gives a megaphone to the complainers but it doesn't mean they really have any power behind them if they/we don't give them power.; 9/22/16, 5:22 AM
