Hopefully DJT is calling HRC for advice.

That's right, the big concern PB&J has is that Trump might not be as good as Hillary is at selling US influence and corruption.

That's the only thing that concerns today's left. Hillary committed treason? Yawn, right? I mean, selling the US down the river probably is an unqualified good to PB&J.

I mean, Hillary's closest advisor (Huma) was on the masthead of a radical Muslim brotherhood paper advocating death to America and putting women in chains for over 12 years as an associate editor, and the left applauds her constantly.

Classic Clintonian combination of moving the goalposts and parsing: sure we took the money but you can't prove we sold anything. Much like the meaning of the word "is" the Clintons use excuses we wouldn't accept from our elementary school children. Last week my 5 year old told me we couldn't prove he ate the graham crackers.

There is absolutely nothing that could turn hardcore partisans like this against Hillary. The double standards are getting embarrassing for the apolitical Dem voters with Hillary calling Trump the head ISIS recruiter then the media falling over themselves in faux outrage over his saying Obama and Hillary founded it. Last week they claimed the existence of Russian investments creates an unacceptable conflict of interest for Trump while this week influence peddling is fine.

Meanwhile the people who believe this nonsense think they have a handle on things.

I've been wondering for years why Huma gets a free pass. She has always seemed like as much of a security risk as Hilary.

My main concern is her mother. She is a professor in Jeddah University. Something like that would normally be a screaming red flag for a security clearance. She is, in effect a hostage. "Hey Huma, we're investigating your mother for adultery. Probably nothing to it, though. By the way, do you think you could get us a peek at the State dept phone book?" Always start with something innocuous. "You help us and we can help your mother."

See, for example, the recent case of a dentist who was denied clearance to work on reservists teeth at a reserve center. His grandmother lived in Israel.

Also,

In the 2000-2009 period Huma made a maximum reported salary of about $45m/yr working as Hilary's aide. Yet she was getting ink in magazines like Vogue and others for the glamorous (expensive) way she dressed. She managed to buy a $400,000 DC townhouse for cash. Her father is dead and had no money, her mother is a professor in Saudi Arabia. Where was she getting her money?

How the Hell did she get a security clearance?

Yes, I know about her alleged ties to Muslim Brotherhood. If true, those shoudl be disqualifying too.

This could explain Weiner's behavior. "Gee Tony, I'm saving it till we're married" Then on his wedding night be is confronted trying to have sex with her hacked up lady parts. GAAGGHHHH!

How is Trump U any different from pretty much any other US University?

Main differences I see are:

1) At Trump you only got meat courses without all the other non-vallue adding courses required to pad the curricula.

2) Trump graduates seem, in general, to feel they got more value from their education than typical University students.

3) It was a lot less expensive than most universities

4) Student loans are not dischargeable in bankruptcy. Trump U had regular financing available. More student friendly than student loans.

5) Employment within the field was higher for Trump U graduates than for many regular university programs.

6) Pay was better for Trump U graduates.

Crown Prince of Bahrain Forced to Go Through Foundation to See Clinton, after Pledging $32 Million to Clinton Global Initiative

Hollywood Executive Casey Wasserman, Slimfast Mogul Daniel Abraham, Controversial Appointee Rajiv Fernando also among Clinton Foundation Donors Granted Special Favors from Clinton State Department

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch today released 725 pages of new State Department documents, including previously unreleased email exchanges in which former Hillary Clinton’s top aide Huma Abedin provided influential Clinton Foundation donors special, expedited access to the secretary of state. In many instances, the preferential treatment provided to donors was at the specific request of Clinton Foundation executive Douglas Band.

The new documents included 20 Hillary Clinton email exchanges not previously turned over to the State Department, bringing the known total to date to 191 of new Clinton emails (not part of the 55,000 pages of emails that Clinton turned over to the State Department). These records further appear to contradict statements by Clinton that, “as far as she knew,” all of her government emails were turned over to the State Department.

The Abedin emails reveal that the longtime Clinton aide apparently served as a conduit between Clinton Foundation donors and Hillary Clinton while Clinton served as secretary of state. In more than a dozen email exchanges, Abedin provided expedited, direct access to Clinton for donors who had contributed from $25,000 to $10 million to the Clinton Foundation. In many instances, Clinton Foundation top executive Doug Band, who worked with the Foundation throughout Hillary Clinton’s tenure at State, coordinated closely with Abedin. In Abedin’s June deposition to Judicial Watch, she conceded that part of her job at the State Department was taking care of “Clinton family matters.”

my opinion of Bono just jumped down the toilet.

The newly obtained Abedin emails also contain a memorandum sent to Cheryl Mills from State Department White House liaison Laura Pena revealing that Rajiv Fernando was proposed for his controversial appointment to the sensitive International Security Advisory Board as early as June 2009. Fernando was not actually appointed until 2011, and his appointment raised a firestorm because, according to an ABC News report, “he had no obvious experience in the field.” Fernando donated $1 million to the Clinton Foundation.

The Abedin emails reveal that even U2’s Bono got into the act when former Bill Clinton aide Ben Schwerin, who helped set up the Clinton Foundation, urged Abedin to help the aging rock star broadcast from the international space station. In a May 27, 2009, email with the subject line “Bono/NASA,” Schwerin wrote, “Bono wants to do linkup with the international space station on every show during the tour this year.… Any ideas? Thks.” Bono has been a donor to the Clinton Global Initiative. And in 2011, he gathered top entertainers for “A Decade of Difference: A Concert Celebrating 10 Years of the William J. Clinton Foundation.” According to USA Today, “Some tickets were sold to the public for $50 to $550, and premium seats went for $1,000 to $5,000 on the Foundation website.”

“These new emails confirm that Hillary Clinton abused her office by selling favors to Clinton Foundation donors,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “There needs to be a serious, independent investigation to determine whether Clinton and others broke the law.”

buwaya said...

There are quite a few strings of emails in there, most just cited.
Every one shows personal access by back channels to the then-Secretary of State by major donors to CGI, a private entity, asking for favors of one sort or another. These are directed to employees of the State Department, such as Huma Abedin, acting to pass them to her supervisor, who should not be entertaining these informal requests for official favors.

If this sort of thing was happening in a Fortune 500 company, with emails of this sort in public, with Clinton as a company officer and Abedin as her executive assistant, they would be tossed out instantly, out of work and unemployable.

PB&R,

Not talking about for profits schools. I am talking about universities in general.

To take one example of local interest: How many UW law school graduates are working as lawyers 2 years after graduation? How much are they making? How much debt do they owe? How many say that they would do it again.

Stories are legion of people graduating from all manner of schools from Harvard to Clinton's Laureate affiliated universities with degrees in Feminist studies, Puppetry, English lit or a host of other majors who can't find any job using their education. Who can't find any job they weren't qualified for at HS graduation.

And holding tens or scores of thousands of dollars in student loan debt. Debt that they will still be paying off into their 40s or later. Dept that will prevent them marrying, forming a family or buying a home.

Compare this to Trump U graduates and tell me which group is significantly better or worse off? Seems to be more or less the same.

The real scam is not Trump U. The real scam is student loans.

John Henry

John henry said...

I forgot about the degrees. I don't know if Trump gave "Diplomas" or some sort of certificate of completion or the like.

Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College doesn't either. Packaging students get a certificate of completion and jobs, no experience needed, starting at $40-100m.

Employers care more about what you can do and what you know than what kind of diploma you have.

Completion of trump U was apparently viewed as valuable in the workplace regardless of what they called the completion document.

This happened in a surprisingly short time.

As if the "rule of law" means something in a Pro-Choice society. Once you rationalize class diversity schemes (e.g. individual discrimination), and, worse, elective abortion for trivial causes, and clinical cannibalism at Planned Parenthood, there really is no limit to corruption. Western civilization is on a progressive slope.

Here's the front page top corner headline from the WaPo: "Emails reveal how foundation donors got access to Clinton, State Dept. aides". That's the WaPo who I generally would expect to bury the story. Apparently the NYT hasn't figured out how to deal with it yet so no headline. The WSJ headline is even a little tamer than the WaPo: "More Emails Show Clinton Foundation Sought State Department Access for Donors". Is there a shift going on? Stay tuned.

Buwaya: "A surprising number told her they were unemployed or broke and that they had wasted their time at UCLA."

They are probably lying to her. I always tell everyone soliciting donations--especially for my over-endowed alma meter--that I'm unemployed/broke., and that my time spent in prison for fraud and embezzlement was totally wasted. And then i ask THEM for money, just a little bit to help me get back on my feet. They always hang up on me right away.

If i don't add the prison part, they keep begging and begging for ever decreasing amounts (100, 50, 20, how about 10?)--even after hearing that I'M FUCKING UNEMPLOYED AND DEAD BROKE--and i miss half my damn t.v. show.

No doubt some are, but way too many liked staying on the phone reminiscing about UCLA with a sympathetic ear. No, I gather that way too much of this was entirely true.

All it took to get rid of her or any other fundraiser was to say, no, sorry, not just now. It was the very opposite of hard sell.

Another reality to consider about these men who gave millions to the Clinton Family Cosa Nostra loosely disguised as charity, is that they could resell that "Appearance of Influence " over the American juggernaught that was then destroying every government in the Middle East that they felt like destroying that day. Those donors made themselves look like secret strong horses in order to protect themselves and their Massive Fortunes.

Put a little ice on that Khadaffi.

But they gave away all real leverage in the region.

Hillary voted for the Iraq War. She was against the successful Iraq 'surge' of 2007. As secretary of state, Hillary advised Obama to abandon our allies in Iraq, and stood by when civil war erupted in Syria.
In September, 2012, Ambassador Chris Stevens was killed by a Muslim mob in Bengazi. He was the 8th US ambassador to be killed in the line of duty. All of the previous Ambassadors who were killed died as a result of assassination or kidnapping. Stevens begged for help from the state department eight hours. No help came because Hillary would not okay a rescue.
She was a terrible Secretary of State. She has the blood of thousands of our allies on her hands.
Hillary has a record. No Democrat will even attempt a defense of the person they will vote for in November.
Hillary is incompetent and corrupt. Her husband is corrupt, a philander and an abuser of women. But watch out for Trump! He doesn't like illegal aliens! People have sued him!

"A sports executive who was a major donor to the Clinton Foundation and whose firm paid Bill Clinton millions of dollars in consulting fees wanted help getting a visa for a British soccer player with a criminal past.

The crown prince of Bahrain, whose government gave more than $50,000 to the Clintons’ charity and who participated in its glitzy annual conference, wanted a last-minute meeting with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

U2 rocker and philanthropist Bono, also a regular at foundation events, wanted high-level help broadcasting a live link to the International Space Station during concerts.

In each case, according to emails released Monday from Hillary Clinton’s time as secretary of state, the requests were directed to Clinton’s deputy chief of staff and confidante, Huma Abedin, who engaged with other top aides and sometimes Clinton herself about how to respond."

Your link to a piece that describes folks "engaging in how to respond" is not a big deal. [Yes, I know I made comments complimenting HRC on her business acumen when I said she shook down some dude for a couple hundred million dollars donated to charity. Presumably the fantastical inflation of the dollar amount was a tip off to my sarcasm. At least I give hints, unlike DJT. But seriously, did you read the actual emails rather than the JW recap of the emails that Althosue posted? The Foundation asks about the meeting and they're told that HRC is already planning to do it based on how she's feeling. Then, it turns out that she's up for it and Abedin lets the foundation know that they went ahead and finalized a time for the meeting. You can't possibly think this a reason to put HRC in jail. Right? Doesn't Trump say we're not a nation w/o laws? If so, you can't lock up HRC for this, it's not illegal.]

Now we learn that an HRC meeting w/ no results can be sold for close to $200 million.

As Jonah Goldberg said, you misunderstand corruption, if you think it's a matter of pure cash. It's favor trading.

http://www.nationalreview.com/article/439184/clinton-foundation-corruption-hillary-clinton-bill-clinton-love-power

Things were not and are not simply for sale to the highest bidder. Drawing simplistic connections between money one day and a favor the next is wrong and it won't check out quite right most of the time. This was all much more of a long term relation.

Every meaningful realm of life that hasn’t been taken over by the logic of markets and contracts, operates on some version of reciprocal altruism...It is what motivates us to... ruin our Saturdays helping a coworker move.

But politics is different. For good reasons — and more than a few bad ones — we’ve tried to wall off politics from the logic of the market. Public servants are supposed to be above personal financial motivations....

...Still, the vast majority of corruptions in politics have little to do with money. And even in the cases where money is part of the indictment, it is only part of it. Most people don’t go into politics to get rich, not even Harry Reid (who nonetheless managed it). Vladimir Putin may be the richest man in the world, but you don’t have to be his psychiatrist to understand that he didn’t go into politics just for the rubles.

...The primary currency of politics is the favor. Trading favors at the macro-level is often called logrolling, but at the micro-level it is called “politics.” Favors can involve trading power, information, offices, access, recommendations of all sorts, status, and, of course, taxpayer dollars.

If you watch Game of Thrones you’ll notice that gold plays a big part in petty corruptions, but the desire for power is the real source of moral degeneration. Change out “Westeros” for “Ancient Rome,” the “Soviet Union,” or virtually every other society that has ever existed and you’ll notice the same thing.

Which brings me to the Clintons. The coverage of the Clinton Foundation is a textbook example of how our pinched and narrow conception of corruption distorts our understanding of politics. Those few mainstream reporters interested in the story at all think the hook is the “pay for play” angle...

...This “pay for play” angle is simply a manifestation of the bastardization of “follow the money.”

The money isn’t the primary issue with the Clintons and it never was. Sure, sure, they like being rich. They like flying around in private planes. They like having lots of houses. But the Clinton Foundation was never about getting rich, it was about keeping the Imperial Court in Exile well-tended to for their return to power. Huma’s amazingly corrupt moonlighting wasn’t about money grubbing per se, it was about keeping Hillary’s Richelieu on the payroll.

The Clintons are a tribe, a House like House Lanister or House Harkonen. They trade power, fame, influence and, sure, on occasion, money to advance the interests of their House...

...Hillary Clinton is corrupt in countless ways, but her desire for personal profit is among the least of her transgressions. She didn’t stay in her thoroughly corrupted marriage for money, she didn’t set up her server for money, she didn’t fire the White House travel office for money, she committed these sins — and myriad others — in order to seek the power and status that she covets and feels she is due.

That she genuinely feels she is entitlted to something is giving her far too much credit.

My theory is that as Secretary of State, Hillary passed everything important on to Bill for a decision.

That's a definite possibility. Doug Band was not just the head of the Clinton Foundation - he was a personal aide to Bill Clinton, who did not use e-mail himself.

What killed Stevens is that the military couldn't go into Bengazi w/o a state department okay, and Hillary couldn't get a decision from Bill in time to save Steven's life.

Not true. They may have needed a Presidential OK to cross borders without the host government's permission. But Stevens was killed right at the beginning. The last two were killed hours later. They were being lied to by people in the Libyan government. There are lost of real questions. Including why he suddenly went to Benghazi on Sept. 11.

After four years of Hillary, we will be god damn lucky to have Putin satisfied with Ukraine and the Baltic states and no nuclear Armageddon in the ME.

Stevens and the other Americans died without American intervention, likely in a double cross associated with the Libya-ISIS Affair. Other Americans survived with the assistance of what remained of Gaddafi's government. Libya was a war zone after the opportunistic assassination of Gaddafi and destabilization of that nation. This was not a diplomatic mission. The authorization of force should have come from Obama.

The violence in Ukraine and Eastern Europe was propagated by a Western-backed coup. The progressive wars and refugee crises in the Middle East were initiated through actions by Obama and Clinton. After withdrawal of honest brokers from Iraq, and the subsequent Libya-ISIS Affair, Putin cooperated with Assad to counter the terrorist threats to the native people. If anything, Russia has been extremely patient as Obama, Clinton, and NATO have run amuck through Eurasia and Africa.

Really damning. Can only imagine what is in her many "personal emails" that were deleted. Was she the final judge as to what was personal? Never hear that discussed.

One of the long-standing theories is that she erased emails dealing with the Clinton Foundation. This provides some evidence.

Remember: Nixon was nearly impeached over dramatically, markedly less than Clinton is being defended for doing. There was an erasure of 18 minutes of a tape. Clinton erased at least 30,000 emails while giving her lawyers illegal access to them.

Huma's mother is pretty radical and pretty vocal about her radicalism. Among other things, she supports female circumcision as being required by law.

Huma also had some interesting views in a journal she edited.
http://nypost.com/2016/08/21/huma-abedin-worked-at-a-radical-muslim-journal-for-10-years/

But, I don't doubt that there are all sorts of lame profit schools that rip off folks.

She's not foolish enough to believe that anybody who knows the truth about her would want her to be elected president.

Stevens and the other Americans died without American intervention, likely in a double cross associated with the Libya-ISIS Affair.

A double cross maybe yes, by some people who had been hired for security, but ISIS wasn't involved - it didn't yet exist. It wasn't al Qaeda either - it was more the parent or the grandparent of al Qaeda - Egyptian Islamic Jihad and the Moslem Brotherhood.

Other Americans survived with the assistance of what remained of Gaddafi's government.

There was nothing left of Quaddafi's government. And nobody helped very much. They stalled actually and kept on lying.

Libya was a war zone after the opportunistic assassination of Gaddafi

Actually it was peaceful, but then Islamcits started to organize and things were getting worse.

This was not a diplomatic mission.

It was. Stevens was there, in part to gie aid ane encouragement tosome friends of America, but also to try to stop the ship loaded with arms for Syrian rebels from sailing. But it had already sailed. Stevens read the riot act to the Turkish intelligence station chief, and those arms remained in Turkey. eanwhile Islamcists, probably organized by some foreign inttelligence agencies who were prchasing arms to send to Syrian revbels plotted the murder of the Ambassador. Something like that.

The authorization of force should have come from Obama.

he actually gave ageneral order to do ebverything possible to get everybpdy out of there, which meant abandoning the CIA effort to buy weapons before Saudi Arabia or Qatar could, but he had not specfically authtoized going on against the wishes of the Libyan government and all through the night it always looked like it was over and they could get their people out without trouble..

The violence in Ukraine and Eastern Europe was propagated by a Western-backed coup.

The coup had popular support, and was no business of Russia.

The progressive wars and refugee crises in the Middle East were initiated through actions by Obama and Clinton. After withdrawal of honest brokers from Iraq, and the subsequent Libya-ISIS Affair, Putin cooperated with Assad to counter the terrorist threats to the native people.

The refugees were caused by the Assad regime, and Putin saved him in 2013. Terrorists had always been Assad's favorite enemy.

If anything, Russia has been extremely patient as Obama, Clinton, and NATO have run amuck through Eurasia and Africa.

Where are you getting this disinformation from?
