It is interesting to think about how locales with such varying climates, e.g. long, cold winters, can spring to life, in the most beautiful ways, Humbled.
Currently, polls show Trump winning the state of Nevada by 5 points. Obama beat Romney in Nevada by six points.
But in Georgia Trump is only up by 2, and in Ohio, it's a tie. Unless you throw in Johnson then trump leads by 3, which doesn't really make sense to me. Why does Johnson pull more from Hillary?
Dunno, but if someone gets above 15% of the votes they get matching funds from the government next time 'round? Sounds like a good reason to go all cock-eyed. Please set me straight on this issue. (as if you won't) :) :)
Watched a documentary sometime ago that included scenes of women in India shaving their heads. Maybe a religious thing. Anyway, all the long hair is sold to be used to make wigs . I think of it everytime I see Michelles beautiful hair. Why in the world does a woman who is so involved in black pride not have a nice Afro? Other important black women do the same thing. I really don't get it. During the '60's, the black power/pride women had afros. It kind of sends a message she is embarrassed by natural hair.
Leaving politics aside, There are wonders still brought by technology. That hive of scum and villainy called Youtube - is also full of treasures.
This one is new to me - original recordings, from 1931, of Federico Garcia Lorca's sessions working out his arrangements and edits of "Canciones espanolas antiguas" - with Garcia Lorca himself at the piano - the singer is Encarnacion Lopez Julvez "La Argentinita" - "Las morillas de Jaen" is medieval, and there is good reason to believe it is of Arab origin, maybe from the ninth century.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLiK8NtQElc
Lorca, besides being THE Spanish poet and critic of the 20th century, also was a major popularizer of Spanish folklore. His collections of "canciones" became Spanish standards - everyone did versions of these and are still at it today. There are dozens of versions on Youtube! Look for the 1976 sessions by Teresa Berganza with Narciso Yepes (!) on the guitar. More treasure.
His essay on "duende" - the definition for this quality he steals from Goethe as "that mysterious power which all feel but philosophers can't define" (forgive my translation, and his, from German to Spanish to English!), and with which he explains the the qualities of flamenco, among other things -
Its here in Spanish - I don't know if there is an English translation, there probably is. Teoría y juego del duende. http://usuaris.tinet.cat/picl/libros/glorca/gl001202.htm
Trump has "duende", hear him and feel it. Its like listening to the flamenco "cante jondo" - which is, to the uninitiated, bizarre and nonsensical and is very much an acquired taste (my abuelita, a Filipina through and through in spite of insisting she was Spanish, couldn't abide it, to her it all sounded like "dolores de barriga" - the singers had an unendurable stomachache.
Anyway, much of Trump has its qualities, the groundedness, emotionality, irrational, sometimes bizarre interjections, the morbid touch of reality, the awareness of sin and human weakness. The "darkness", which is indeed a quality of flamenco. He is singing a true song in a style not well understood by some.
Interesting essay. Maybe Scott Adams should have a peek.

Colección De Canciones Populares Españolas Federico García Lorca Y La Argentina
mislabelled - she went by "Argentinita"
This is NOT the "canciones antiguas" or "trece canciones antiguas", there is a great deal here that doesn't seem to have made the cut in the published collections. The Castillian and Asturian medleys, and a couple of others I have never heard before. It has 8 of 12 of the "collecion".
Up here on our side of the crater Grandma asked who of you DNC blessed elites talked about your enemies today? No one? Oh my. Nothing like having a memory that can recall the slightest detail from the last millennium. What was it Lenin said? "What do you have when you have a priest with a slit throat? Not enough priests." Good thing you don't believe in He!!. your 200 degree clysters are waiting. Granted the preacher and your pTb said you can save yourself because as Paul said in his second letter free will is all that matter. If your Christ had no choice but to die he couldn't have offered you your salvation. Same goes for charity, if you have no choice but to give (through taxes say), it means nothing towards your salvation. The most libertarian passage in your so called bible.
There's a lot of ugliness out there, so I'd like to say thank you to our hostess for putting some beauty on the internet.
But here's some ugliness. I finished up the first half of the lectures on biological anthropology and was trying to remember the name of some 12 year old boy they found. Astonishingly complete, apparently. Everything but the feet and hands and it supposedly is irrefutable proof of evolution. (Why I was hearing this for the first time and in none of the other lectures on evolution is a mystery. Richard Dawkins takes the position that the fossil record is unnecessary. Merely icing on the cake. Bet the paleontologists love that!)
Anyway, trying to learn more about the find, I just did an image search for "12 year old male hominid."
I got pictures, all right, but the suggested alternative search terms were somewhat disturbing, to put it mildly. But that's what I get for turning off "safe search."
But there was a moment of levity. It occurred to me that the last suggested search term was the name of the hominid. But then I realized that no scientist would name so important a find: "12 Year Old Boy Cumming."
Buwaya, would you please take a crack at explaining duende, or provide a link to that essay? James Michener wrote about it in Iberia but that was a long time ago and I haven't got a copy handy.

Ah, a blood pressure post, of the sort I need right now! Thanks! (but envious).
Beautiful!

Bernie bros stratergy?
They would not have a roll call vote for Hillary in 2008. What a travesty it was and now they are placating that grumpy old man.
Read all about how the DNC and the party screwed Hillary in 2008 in propping up Obama

I suggest a frog imitation.

What do you like about Hillary Clinton, pm317?
A thought occurred, poking around in Lorcaiana -
Can Federico Garcia Lorca explain Trump? (!)
