Clinton Campaign Manager Robby Mook floats the conspiracy theory: Russians hacked the DNC emails for the purpose of helping Trump.

On "State of the Union" this morning:
TAPPER: So, I have to ask, what is the reaction of the Clinton campaign to these DNC leaked e-mails suggesting that top officials, including the CFO there, were actively discussing ways to hurt Bernie Sanders in the primaries?

MOOK: Well, I think the DNC needs to look into this and take appropriate action, and I'm sure that they will. What's disturbing to us is that we -- experts are telling us that Russian state actors broke into the DNC, stole these e-mails. And other experts are now saying that the Russians are releasing these e- mails for the purpose of actually helping Donald Trump. I don't think it's coincidental that these e-mails were released on the eve of our convention here. And that's disturbing. And I think we need to be concerned about that. I think we need to be concerned that we also saw last week at the Republican Convention that Trump and his allies made changes to the Republican platform to make it more pro-Russian. And we saw him talking about how NATO shouldn't intervene to defend -- necessarily should intervene to defend our Eastern European allies if they are attacked by Russia. So, I think, when you put all this together, it's a disturbing picture. And I think voters need to reflect on that.

TAPPER: What evidence is there that the Russians were behind this in terms of the hacking or in terms of the timing by WikiLeaks?

MOOK: Well, we need to let the experts speak on this. It's been reported on in the press that the -- that the hackers that got into the DNC are very likely by to be working in coordination with Russia. And, again, I think it's -- if the Russians in fact had these e-mails, again, I don't think it's very coincidental that they are being released at this time to create maximum damage on Hillary Clinton and to help Donald Trump.

TAPPER: But it is a very, very strong charge that you're leveling here. You're basically suggesting that Russians hacked into the DNC and now are releasing these files through WikiLeaks to help elect Donald Trump.

MOOK: Well, this isn't my assertion. There are a number of experts that are asserting this. I think we need to get to the bottom of these facts. But that is what experts are telling us. Experts have said that it is the Russians that, in fact, went in and took these e-mails. And then, if they are the ones who took them, we have to infer that they are the ones then releasing them....
He's just passing along the theory he heard from some "experts." Go ask them if you want some details.

I'm sorry, I haven't read those yet, but my guess is ISIS is getting desperate and are getting kicked out of big towns and into smaller towns and see the end is near. and all they can do now is try to cut a deal with various governments for a cease-fire. and we know how that usually goes. But that's based on nothing. Now to read the newsbits.

They are, but read this--from beginning to end, and look at the weight that was put on the admittedly idiot "pastor" to avoid the shit hitting the fan.

It's eerie, like that's all it would take for millions to go full jhihadi? Is that why O, Lynch, the dopey Pope, et al fall all over themselves to not offend? Are things that close to coming apart?

Hillary has conspiracies on the left and conspiracies on the left. Well that is a matched set of "vast" conspiracies. Of course they are targeted at a half vast candidate. Kind of a waste of effort if you ask me. They are over egging the pudgy pudding in the pant suit.

It is 3:30 am here in MT, and my partner was too hot to sleep, so has been tossing and turning for the last 4 hours. Finally got the new air conditioner working, her back in the bedroom, and me out in the living room wide awake. Which tois a long lead in to my post. One of the things that has bothered me for quite some time is the idea on the left that winning is everything. Anything done to win an election is justified, as long as you win. We got Obama that way, and I think the country was hurt because of it. Probably hundreds of millions in illegal, sometimes foreign, campaign contributions. JournaList. Illegally released court documents on his Senate competitors, but massively suppressed background on him (like that picture we saw a week or so ago of him in Muslim dress). It doesn't matter though because once you win, you have the DoJ under your thumb. Or, at least if you are a Dem, because the Attis there tend to be Dems anyway. Always suspected that Crooked Hillary was trying to run the clock out with her email server problems, like she did last time around with her Madison Federal billing records. Anonymous here tonight was just another way ndication of this philosophy.

The leaked emails should be worrisome. We have long been suspected that much of the news we get through the MSM is orchestrated by the Dems. JournaList again. Sometimes I think I am too paranoid about politics for my own good, and then find out that I was not paranoid enough. Like one of the thriller movies where new layers keep turning up. I shouldn't be surprised to find that the DNC had internal metrics on how well they were able to plant stories with the MSM. We knew this was happening, just not how much. Heck, Rhodes was bragging about how his fiction was able to deceive America on the Iran deal. But the emails show to some extent how the sausage is made. How much of our news is manufactured and manipulated for us. More egregious I think is the DNC and allies creating it and then distributing it. For example, a lot of the anti-Trump protests seem to have used DNC staffers when they couldn't get the Soros, etc backed protesters to show up in great enough numbers. And then stories about the protests were fed to the MSM. Etc.

So, with this in mind, why did this leak of the emails, along with dumping the odious DWS, both happen this weekend? My theory is that at least the latter, and maybe both were timed to get it/them out of the way before the Dem convention, thus not interfering with Crooked Hillary getting a bounce out of the convention, and getting the bad stuff behind them. Maybe too paranoid here - possibly the leak was timed by someone adverse to her interests.

Which gets me to my final point. Easiest way to get the emails would have been from the inside. I think much more likely is the theory (above) that it was a young idealistic Berniebot working in IT at the DNC. Bernie and his Berniebots, of course, got screwed by the DNC. Shouldn't have surprised them - that is what that organization does - it cheats on such a level that cheating there has become routine to the extent they now have metrics to measure it. (Wonder if they also have metrics for measuring their illegal voting?) not that the Ruskies couldn't have done it, but it is a nice diversion pinning it on them. Just evil enough to distract us, but remote enough not to worry us too much. Just too convenient. As I said, maybe too paranoid for my own good. Or not paranoid enough.

I do enjoy the fact that Mook is sourcing his story on unnamed experts. Note he doesn't tell us what type of experts they are. Could easily be his campaign strategists spinning the source of the leak. They presumably are "experts", so Mook wouldn't actually be lying. Not that I don't think that a little fudging of the truth is beyond him. Or, really, a lot of fudging. After all, he works for Crooked Hillary. As I said in my previous post, the Ruskies are seen as evil enough to do this sort of thing, but remote enough that they aren't a domestic threat (which Islamic terrorism is). And it kinda takes away from Herself selling 1/5 or so of our uranium reserves to them. Which maybe why the Ruskies were picked to be the fall guys here, and not the ChiComs or the NORKs. Not that the Russians wouldn't leak to hurt someone they didn't like, but you are still left with the question of why they wouldn't think that having bought her in the past, why couldn't they continue to do so in the future in the White House? Surely the Russians have studied enough history and military theory to know that often bribery is far cheaper than military operations. Or even being prepared for military operations. Esp the Russians.

It should be interesting seeing where this goes.

Oh, I see. NOW Team Clinton cares about possible hacking of e-mails. NOW it has become a problem. Too bad no one asked Robby Mook his opinion on this back in 2009.

An NY Times story does name the experts, but it all very tendentious. They say the language settings for the computers that did the hack were set to use Russian language. The Chinese could do that.
I reject the premise that the Russkis prefer Trump to Hillary. What has Hillary done to foil the goals of Putin? What would she do? Trump's problems with NATO are with the European nations least liable to be attacked by Russia.

This election is what we get for turning away Mitt Romney, the man who dared to call Russia our #1 geopolitical foe and get ridiculed for it (by the same people blaming the Russians now!).
America had the chance to choose the perfect man for the job in 2012, and I this election is karmic payback.
If America is going to vote like idiots, we will get idiots to vote for.

This from the WaPo is funny
Four days of programming at the Wells Fargo Center will showcase the Democratic Party’s diversity and progressivism, designed to help as many voters as possible identify with Clinton and the rest of the ticket. The speakers will be white, black, Latino and Asian; Christian, Jewish and Muslim; old and young; gay and straight; male and female. There is expected to be a heavy focus on issues such as immigration, gay rights and gun control.

Immigration, gay rights, and gun control are the issues where the Democrats are most out of step with American voters.

I guess I don't understand how the Most Qualified Presidential Candidate in History is supposedly being hacked by the Russians. She reset foreign policy with the Russians, because Bush was so bad at it. That was one of her successes as Secretary of State.

It is always amusing that when the leaks hurt the Republicans, the story is about what is in the leak.

When the leaks hurt the Democrats, the story is always about the source of the leak.

I remember the leak of the Democrats plan to block Estrada's appointment as a judge because he was Hispanic.

I bet the DNC is angry that Hillary didn't have her experts, who had her personal server totally unhackable, help assist them with the DNC servers.

I like conspiracy theories. They weed out the more gullible amongst us. Yes. The Russians were very selective as to who's emails they would steal. DNC ? OK. Hillary? Nyet.

Sorry, thought I had been clear, Heidi Ho.

No one cares, or will ever care, about you or what you have to say. It is more likely that YOU are a Russian op than Trump is. Certainly you are not an authentic human being.

Funny how in your case, we should attend the message and not the messenger; but for the leaks we should care not about the revelations of Democratic fuckery, but about who betrayed you. Whoever it was is, according to you, not important. That's if you had a consistent bone in your body. Oh right. Hahahahahaha

Watergate is an absolute nothing compared to Hillary's email issue.

Add into that Obama's weaponization of the IRS, EPA, DOJ, etc and you have a party that seems to want to both maximize the size of government while minimizing its legitimacy.

This is classic redirection, changing the focus from the contents of the e-mails to the hacking and leaking of the e-mails.

What about the issues raised by the contents of the e-mails? Issues? What issues? Our e-mails were hacked--and then leaked! Scandalous!

I'm a little flabbergasted that the Dems are being so blatantly corrupt, but then again, they're so used to having the press run cover for them they don't even think of such things anymore.
