"Newly released State Department emails help reveal how a major Clinton Foundation donor was placed on a sensitive government intelligence advisory board even though he had no obvious experience in the field..."

"... a decision that appeared to baffle the department’s professional staff," ABC News reports.
The emails further reveal how, after inquiries from ABC News, the Clinton staff sought to “protect the name” of the Secretary, “stall” the ABC News reporter and ultimately accept the resignation of the donor just two days later.

Oh, gosh, it looks like Hillary's secret emails were kept secret because they reveal all sorts of shenanigans.

I'm torn between quoting "This is my surprised face" & "I'm shocked... shocked to find that gambling is going on in there.", so I'll just quote both for effect.

Imagine an indictment,
It's easy, if you try,
No law below her,
And prosecution for a lie.

Imagine all the people,
Facing what is true,

You might say she needs prison,
And you're not the only one,
I hope some day Bill will join her,
And the world can live as one.

Friday dump.

The idea of a Friday dump is that nobody is paying attention, because it's the weekend.

But the people who are doing the Sunday talk shows are paying attention!

I'm not sure Friday dump is a brilliant strategy. I would go with a Tuesday dump. It's not like people are sitting around the breakfast table and reading the newspaper. What newspaper?

The kids are in class and the adults are in school. Tuesday dump.

No charge for this suggestion, Hillary fans!

I hope people realize that other than the revelation in the emails, that ABC News was on to this story over 5 years ago, knew about the guy, knew about the contributions, knew about the fellow board members views of the guy and knew about the resignation, but only now is reporting it.

Way to go ABC. What next, news of the Titanic sinking?

Here's the thing. This same guy is back at it again. He is a bundler for Clinton's campaign. He has donated over a million dollars to the Clinton charity.

When they tried to talk to him he was mum.

Why don't hey go after his guy? Ask him how the hell he got into such a place and why he wanted to be there.

Hillary wants us to think Donald is unhinged and shouldnt be near the button. But here is Hillary letting people buy their win in to our national security.

A Clinton spokesperson addressing the issue of appearance of influence peddling by then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton indicated there were no specific State Department rules against "Secretary Clinton" exchanging official government policy level appointments for donations to the "Clinton Foundation". There might have been some vague general rules but nothing specific to Clinton. She continued that the government bureaucrats are now trying to retroactively change the rules, now declaring the acceptance of bribes by Secretary Clinton via the Clinton Foundation illegal after the fact when no specific law referring to "Secretary Clinton" existed.

Later the Clinton spokesperson pointed out Secretary of State Colin Powell had made appointments and yet other people had made donations to charitable foundations which Powell liked and Colin Powell was never questioned about this.

"... a decision that appeared to baffle the department’s professional staff," ABC News reports." Very naive. Not baffling at all.

"The emails further reveal how, after inquiries from ABC News, the Clinton staff sought to “protect the name” of the Secretary, “stall” the ABC News reporter and ultimately accept the resignation of the donor just two days later." This is "news"? Do the Clinton cronies ever operate any other way?

What difference, at this point, does it make? Progs are impervious to evidence. No Dem will change her mind about Hill. The shenanigans will not figure into a "how Hillary lost me" post.

What's creepy is this: why did this donor want a national security-related post? Usually it's a matter of buying an ambassadorship, for the prestige and glamour of the post. But what else was going on here? What did the donor aim to do once placed in this post? Did it provide him with classified information for him to make use of?

MadisonMan said...

He's in Commodities. I assume he wanted info to leverage into money.

I love that not only did this guy buy a ridiculous favor from the Clintons, but he was a freaking high-frequency trader. This is almost a parody of the Clinton milieu. Couldn't the Clintons find a good industrialist or cattle rancher to milk?

No! Like Willie Sutton, they go where the money is.

David Begley,

"Wait until the IT guy with the immunity deal rats out Cheryl Mills. Will Mills take the rap for Hillary? I think not."

I actually think Mills would take (at least some of) the rap- grudgingly and not without the appropriate golden parachute, of course, especially if the plea deal will require prison time. Jake Sullivan is the one I wonder about- he's spent his entire life believing he was the Irish Kissinger, and expecting him to kiss it all goodbye is going to be quite a bit more expensive.

Whatever. Nothing new here. Hillary will never be president. The question is whether or not she is the nominee. I don't think she will make it past the next two months. She did her job and kept Bernie from winning.

And trust me on this, the best leaks are yet to come. She was selling surface to air missiles in Libya to Syrian "freedom fighters." She sold some pretty pieces to some nasty countries. She made several awful deals for donations to that foundation. Some have been printed, many have not.

She could have won against a Walker or a Cruz. Neither would have gone there. But Trump? No she is not going to skate through.

I used to know this one guy who was an electrical contractor at the White House. He was working on the living quarters, and he went into the bathroom just after Hillary came out and you know what?
The seat was up.
He wasn't the kind of guy who would lie or whatever, either.
The seat was up.
Makes my skin crawl just thinking about it.

The ABC News report cited a Citizens United FOIA request as the lever that pried loose the emails exposing this arrangement. Citizens United.

Lewis Wetzel said...

Well, yeah, because only one email can be looked at at a time. So if there are 30,000 emails, and it takes a lawyer one day to clear each email, that's 75 years.
There is absolutely no way the process can be sped up. None.

It sure takes me back to the good old days to hear one of the Clinton's several corrupt acts described as "old news"! I would have thought that their shills would have updated their manual, but on reflection, it's a nice touch.

"No matter how much the Dems shit on the Media, the Media still love the Dems. Embarrassing!"

In a brilliant critique that I've stolen from a young family friend of ours who recently earned his degree in psychology, Clinton supporters are analogous to the wife in Battered Wife Syndrome. Go ahead and look up BWS -- you'll see it works. Now plug in Media for Wife and you'll see the same. Trumpians too, though to a lesser degree because the abusive relationship is still in its early stage of dating -- romantic steak dinners, careful grooming, fancy golden hotels, and tender sexy words whispered in their hopeful ears.

People keep saying "well, she's a better option than Trump". I still don't see how. Trump seems less overwhelmingly corrupt.

I'm still hoping the GOP simply slaps Walker in Trump's place at the Convention, but the conservatives who are considering her because Trump is so "Bad" are just insane.

Later the Clinton spokesperson pointed out Secretary of State Colin Powell had made appointments and yet other people had made donations to charitable foundations which Powell liked and Colin Powell was never questioned about this.

Not shocked. And I'm betting the media didn't mention that the charity wasn't run by Powell's family directly. The press has carried her water as much as any group conceivably can.

There are a lot of "conservatives" that seem to not care about Hillary's foibles.

Any Republican voting for her (as Collins appears to be considering and Kirk most likely will end up doing) aren't even worthy of the epithet of RINO.

Jane - the guy was a high frequency trader. The information RE the region could give prior warning of oil price swings (every time output changed the oil price moved).

The information on commodities involved in such a panel would literally be priceless to someone in trading.

"Chopper Trading" was going to make huge moola off this. I'm sure some of it would continue to find its way over to the Clintons.

You don't seem to get it. You don't seem to understand why veterans are overwhelmingly supporting Trump. It is your last chance at a peaceful reformation. The GOPe is obviously complicit with the open borders crowd.

Just because you wont fight doesn't mean others will not. We would rather not fight, but we will not go kneeling like Walker or Romney.
