"We're not law-enforcement officials," said Shahed Amanullah, a Washington, D.C.-based Muslim American entrepreneur with Silicon Valley connections. He has worked with the U.S. government on combating online extremism, but he said it's unrealistic to expect Muslim Americans to confront violent people in their midst.
"We're community members and Americans like everybody else," he said, "and we should have the same relationship with law enforcement that everybody else has. To expect us to be on the front lines without having the capacity or the support would not be [productive]. It wouldn't be productive with any community."

Yes, it can be a trial sometimes, performing this often odious but always necessary task of bringing light
Apparently the two leftists believe calling those who disagree with them brownshirts proves they are above pettiness - in a post that cites "abuse" as if it were negative. Apparently any criticism from the right is "abuse" while the left calling those on the right "brownshirts" is "intelligent".
Wingers is crazy.
Amanda:
I think it's time for some of the commentariat here to learn a bit of tolerance to the liberals in their midst.
I neither respect nor have much tolerance for someone who, in her own words, is "not in the least bit interested in engaging most people here in discussion or debate." In other words, you define yourself as a troll. Oh yes, we wingnuts should tolerate liberal trolls. Yes, indeed.
Just wondering: are most "liberals," like you, "not in the least bit interested in engaging most people here in discussion or debate?"
I am enjoying myself however by presenting information and ideas that you won't find on Fox.
1) I don't know if such information or ideas are or are not to be found on Fox, as I don't get my information and ideas from Fox. I found it rather amusing your assuming i) you as a "liberal" are better informed than the wingnuts who comment here, and ii) the wingnuts who comment here get their information and ideas from Fox.
2) You have presented information which I already read a long while ago.10 of the Worst Terror Attacks by Extreme Christians and Far-Right White Men. As I have already pointed out, its claim that Joseph Stack is of the "Far-Right" is readily refuted by reading his manifesto- nor is there any proof that he was an "Extreme Christian"- whatever that was. It is rather unlikely as Stack writes about "monsters of organized religion" in his manifesto, and makes no reference whatsoever to Christianity or to Christ. By presenting such bogus information with the preface "you won't find" it except by your so kindly presenting it to us, at best you come across as a condescending ignoramus. BTW. I read Joseph Stack's manifesto within a week of his demise nearly six years ago.
So you "enjoy yourself" presenting bogus information? And you wonder why you generate neither tolerance nor respect here.
Rick,
Lighten up, bro. Have some fun!
So today's takeaway lesson is that refutation constitutes verbal abuse.
And that I'm a grumpy white male. My diversity points just went up on the (not classical) liberal scale, right?

What definition of fun includes calling people who disagree with you brownshirts but excludes calling out poseurs who whine about respect even as they admit their only purpose is trolling?
