Great gesture. I applaud the Russians. I'm surprised they gave a German Shepherd puppy since the Russians have their own very formidable schutzhund breed.
Putin is now in a 'war' with ISIS, Turkey, turkmen, anti-Assad forces and Kurds, and he sends a puppy? What's next in this terrible war of attrition, a friendship bracelet?
I agree with Quaestor, it's a great gesture and deserves to be applauded. The Malinois isn't a German Shepherd, it's a type of Belgian Shepherd Dog closely akin to the Tervuren. Excellent sheepherders, calm, brave, loyal, highly intelligent; and very good at barn work and working close-in with sheep. My sheepherding trainer has two and they work with my border collies like a pack of benign wolves to move her flocks. Malinois/Tervurens and border collies have very different herding styles but the two compliment each other: the border collies go long, the Belgians go close in, and between the two of them they get the job done quite nicely.

And the puppy will be able to fly anywhere it wants on any airline.

Trojan puppy.
An unmurdered police dog is just what the French need to Make France Safe Again from the Muslim Invasion. Good move by Putin.
Sounds like they are taking lesson from Trump.
Not a German Shephard, a pit bull or other full grown agressive dog.
A puppy.
Yeah, sounds about right. SOunds like how the Russians view the French.

He'll probably pee on the carpet.
Looks like a fine animal. I guess if your nation is bestowing an animal gift upon another nation, it is customary to give only the best.
