Bill Clinton — with his jostling, his unique explanations, and his luminescence — to be unleashed in the dogfight with Sanders/Trump.

"Bill Clinton gets a higher profile just as the jostling with Donald Trump gets more pointed." That's the subheadline subheadline at the Wall Street Journal. Scrolling down a few paragraphs:
Mrs. Clinton holds a commanding lead among Democrats nationally, but polling shows the contests in Iowa and New Hampshire are up for grabs. Losses in both states could potentially alter the dynamics of a race she is dominating. In a conference call with supporters this past week, Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta said that Mrs. Clinton was in a “dog fight” in New Hampshire.

“Her greatest fear is she loses both,” said Douglas Schoen, a pollster and consultant who has advised Mr. Clinton. “Then, even though she is still on a path to win the nomination, there would be complete chaos.”
Seems like the "secret weapon" — "secret weapon" is Hillary's term for Bill — is needed to fight Sanders, not Trump. But I would love to hear the back-and-forth of the "jostling" between Bill Clinton and Trump.
Marc Lasry, a friend of Mr. Clinton’s and head of New York hedge fund firm Avenue Capital Group, said: “President Clinton campaigning for Hillary is a huge asset. People love seeing him and he’s able to explain things to people in a way that’s unique.”
So bring on the unique explanations of Bill Clinton and the Trump counter-jostling. I want to watch that.

By the way, did you know that in the New York penal code, there's a crime called "jostling"? It's the crime of putting your hand too close to somebody's pocket. I like the idea that the politicians running for office are putting their hands too close to our pockets. Stop them before they rip us off. And did you know that one of the old meanings of "jostle" is "to encounter sexually?" But mostly it means pushing and shoving in a crowded place to get to something you want.

I also like this in that WSJ article — David Axelrod gushing over Bill Clinton and incidentally dissing Hillary: "He’s a luminescent figure. That’s always an issue....It’s important for people to see her out there on her own." The nonluminescent Hillary.

Isn't this like playing horse with your buddies, and having your big brother who plays for North Carolina take all your shots? When he makes them all, who exactly will have won?

This is great. With Trump on the scene, maybe we can turn the public perception of the Clinton's, and especially Bill, to what it ought to have been all along.

Bill Clinton is a terrible man, who ought to be in prison already. He has credibly been accused of rape, is a serial sexual abuser (based on multiple credible accusations), an impeached President, and a disbarred lawyer (for lying under oath). He is also guilty, imo, of taking multiple bribes in the form of "speech fees", some probably after a shakedown and/or with promises of political graft to come. Sex with minor(s) also highly likely.

So let him stick his head up over the log. Lets see what happens.

Bill is a secret weapon but it isn't entirely clear that the weapon will work for Hillary. Trump is just the kind of guy who will bring up all of the schmutz of the Clinton years and the more recent dreck that Bill has achieved. The Clinton's really can't afford a lot of that kind of exposure and with Trump broadcasting it the media won't be able to bury Trump's blaring it. Also Bill's positive achievements as president were in actual fact the work of de facto president Newt Gingrich, an inconvenient fact for Hillary which will be constantly be reminded to the public by all Republicans. Remember folks: HillaryCare is the mother of ObamaCare.

I wonder when we will hear the pundits and Democrat moderates tell us that the Democrats have moved so far left that Bill Clinton couldn't get the nomination in 2016.

Can't wait for Trump to imitate Bill sincerely wagging his finger, looking into the camera, "I did not......."

And , playing audio of Bill saying to Jessee Jackson that Obama should be getting them coffeee.

BTW, Onama and his possee have destroyed Jessee. Biggest hit was sending Jesseee Jr. to prison.

It is kind of amazing to me when the Clinton partisans complain about Trump being crude.

Let's just say that Hillary is a black hole who sucks all the light and energy out of a room---provided that the room is not filled with her acolytes and worshipers. That is to say, a room that consists entirely of intelligent and rational people.

The Washington race riot of 1919 began with attacks on black neighborhoods by sailors and marines searching for two young black men accused of having "jostled" the wife of a naval officer.

Speaking of Trump and schlonging, imagine Trump mentioning by name the various woman who offered to give Bill a BJ for keeping abortion legal.

The democrat's are between a rock and a hard place. They don't want to nominate Sanders because he is so old he will die in office, and they don't know who his running mate would be, although they would assume it would be a communist as well.

Clinton may survive her diabetes in her first few years, but the rich food in Washington won't let her pancreas live very long. We all know her running mate will be paid for, and no friend of Capitalist's who have all moved to non-minimum-wage countries.

The only way I would vote for a democrat is if they had a 30 year plan to pay down the debt to 1 Trillion, and removed all the offshore incentives.

Lacking that, I'm voting for whoever get's the republican nomination, even if he is a TV star in Hollywood...

The nice thing about republicans, is they can always find something for the military to do.

I'd rather have a nuclear submarine than a million third-world immigrants (legal or not).

Bill on the stump is surprisingly dull and inspiring, The idol with feet of clay, sort of, when he has to stoop to depressingly ordinary partisan stump speeches, and pleas for money. It's all the same ol' same ol' - and it may not play so well THIS time around.

The only variable is if they were to turn on - and get honest about - Obama. THEN it could get interesting, but the time for that was when Hillary left the State Dept. Too late now.

If you are a democrat, do you only vote for Ds, and so you would consider putting Hillary the grifter, the liar, into the highest office in the land? really? Or can you think for yourself, put aside the hate for the R label and recognize the intellect on the Republican ticket this time?

Like Trump or not, he, Cruz, Carson, Rand and Carly have all done something besides get elected. They're pretty impressive individuals, unlike Bill and his even more dishonest then he wife, Hillary.

Dollar Bill Clinton? Guess Hillary is desperate.

The problem for the Democrats is that Hillary is the best they have. Sanders probably won't win the nomination but if he did he might win ten states. O'Malley is a nothing. Warren, really? Grandma commie fake Indian hypocrite sells in very few places. That leaves Joe Biden who might be the one they turn to if Hillary implodes. Hillary can't escape her history and public persona and she represents the Third Obama Administration. So unless the perfect wave that carried Obama in both of his elections comes out for Hillary I just don't see it happening for her. Biden while unable to escape Obama does have a likable folksy persona that just might keep blue collar Democrats on board. March could turn out to be an interesting month.

I think they are over-estimating Bill Clinton's appeal. The shine has worn off after 16 years. Even at the height of his popularity, his wife was a liability for him with the public. Can't see how he could help her much. In fact, he wasn't much help in 2008, was he?

I guess this means Hillary is giving up on the war on women crap.

George HW Bush was the proxy third Reagan term. Al Gore was supposed to be the proxy third Bill Clinton term. Bill was never that popular despite the revisionism. The misplaced nostalgia is for the then de jure president Gingrich's accomplishments.

There was a mistake in the quote about Bill Clinton. I fixed for you.

"He’s a tumescent figure. That’s always an issue."

I don't think fans of Bill should use "luminescent", it sounds too much like tumescent: A state Bill has been in too much for his own good and a state evaporated by awareness of HRC's existence.

This is a terrible idea for Hillary, therefore I support it.

She wants to be the first female President but she can't do it without leaning heavily on her hubby, who will surely overshadow her and make her look small by comparison. Then there are the "complications" shall we say attendant with the "war on women" narrative.

Do it, Hillary.

I'm not a Trump supporter, but I will definitely be breaking out the Orville Redenbacher's if Bill Clinton goes after Donald Trump, because I suspect Trump will launch a full-throated attack on Bill's very sketchy past, and the media will find itself compelled to cover it. Should be interesting.

I picture Hillary as a black hole next to a luminescent star (Bill.) Will the election occur and finish before she sucks him over the event horizon into the charm-free zone or will he disappear from our eyes somewhere in Ohio still steadily luminescent but thin, very thin, thinning, gone. He looks scary thin these days - in the abuela picture for example.(https://www.hillaryclinton.com/feed/8-ways-hillary-clinton-just-your-abuela/)

BTW what is this about "dark money" as if "dark" money were bad money? Isn't that racist?

Turnabout is fair play, I guess. Certainly Hillary saved Bill's lying ass when he first ran for president.

It is, however, unfortunate that she can not take on the Big Boys on her own.

Of course, it would be possible to ask someone who was there, way back in that day, in Iowa, in 2008 [also 2012]. That said: Perish the thought.

Cuz: Sweet jumpin' what evah, there are just 2 many people who confuse asking 4 info wit' folding over, 4 ex.

Please, stop it with these headlines, this is the 3rd time today I've had to wipe up my coffee. My old eyes read luminescence as tumescence! A blessing when not abused. The elderly use context to fill in words we can’t quite make out, until we look again. What a wonderful choice of words. Maybe next time. Popcorn is a bit dangerous when the laugh comes up from the belly. My grand-nieces thought I was practicing a little late to play Santa. Worse I have to bring out the shop vac. My Trump hating friends are also good amusement. Though I hate negotiating with these nyawkers, I’m impressed by the number of win-wins that result, mostly because you have your fights early rather than fib or give in to our nature of being fanciful rather than deadly serious. Mostly because business folks of both genders like Mr. T insist on writing the divorce agreement up front. I wonder what this will bring to the election? I’m sure it will shock the elites and surprise takers who have even any choice at all not to be takers. We’ll say he hates his own clasa and not be far from wrong when he treats all of us who could be pulling our own weight and more like he treats anyone else who doesn’t play by the rules that under-write the civil society that once made “America Great” something he and his supporters will expect of everyone, documented, or not, native born and elites included.

Best to you and yours, have a wonderful and independent life in 2016. Far too many of us are dependent on others, including the 90 million of us who would work longer and harder if we could just find a job and stop burdening our family, and yes, even the government. Yes, we’d be happy to settle for an undocumented person’s pay if you’d allow an employer to pay it, and stop protecting those who’ve already got there’s. We'll see if Mr. T's critics are correct. That he's just another corporate shill happy to ues the left's tatics to line his own pockets. I doubt it, but I'm wrong about many things.
