Here's this pretty face, which the world is seeing for the first time, in a mug shot, and the reputation of this erstwhile nobody is shot all to hell. He utterly squandered what he had.
And he's not too smart. If you're going to do this stuff, you've got to learn to cover your tracks, starting with the simplest of steps for anonymity on the web.

Kids a moron. When I was his age I would have made the most of the "pretty" face to get laid. That is what normal, hetero males at that age want and do when they are not otherwise engaged in things that keep them legitimately busy such as jobs, military service or attending college and taking serious courses.
When you're in your twenties everyone has hair, a flat stomach, and intense expressions. Among his peer group, good looks are a dime a dozen......Now he's famous. He deserves punishment, but he will get more than the offense warrants.

Better than 50% chance that he's actually a progressive who posted the incendiary comments to stir up trouble. Same with the poop swastika - 90% chance it was a non-white or a white progressive who did it. Those stunts are almost always hoaxes.
I wonder whether this prosecution will go anywhere. Whatever the Missouri statute might prohibit, the case involves a pure speech crime. In Elonis v. US (June 2015), the SCOTUS adopted a subjective standard, focused on the defendant's intent, for measuring whether a communication amounted to a 'true threat'. That standard replaced the so-called objective standard, focused on how a 'reasonable observer' hearing the defendant's words would understand them. Elonis was decided on statutory grounds, but the First Amendment issues weren't very far in the background (Alito addressed them in his concurrence, and found that the Court's subjective standard was sufficient to satisfy First Amendment concerns).
The Missouri courts are not bound by Elonis, but would be required to address the First Amendment issues that it presented (and then found unnecessary to resolve on the merits).
Given all the over-the-top stuff published on the internet, the courts are still trying to find a sensible balance between the 'breathing room' that robust discussion protected by the First Amendment requires, and true threats that can properly be punished. This case could easily turn into another bump along that road.

@Althouse, point taken. Alas for my own combover, but I can't bring myself to wear my hair short -- not after two years of being forced by various sergeants and junior officers to wear it short, and that's despite my hitch ending almost forty-five years ago.
