I thought Ms. Fiorina's comments concerning the linkage of increasing size of government to consolidation of large companies and how this leads to increasing crony capitalism and the "crushing" of the small businesses. When you look around, it is oh so true!
Mad as hell, that is very cool. You should consider giving it to a museum. If for no other reason than safe keeping. Menu stores like that are being lost, and should be told. I understand, though, that such let's can be personal.
The Patriots look like they are going to repeat as Super Bowl champs. Tom Brady is just ridiculously good. Just imagine how many career TDs he would have thrown if Belichick didn't have the footballs deflated to cut down on fumbles
The Pentagon said the next bomber to carry WMD may not be manned. There was also a comment that it might be an option, depending on the mission.
The thought came to me, that this would be the perfect way to move WMD around the world to the targets.
Much better than shooting a rocket out of Montana and not being able to call it back.
I'm hoping the experiments with the X-37B will mean the bomber will be able to go into space and maneuver for the kill. Although, Boeing did lose the contract, I'm hoping Northrop Grumman has something better.
In any case, why modernize the ICBM's as they will be obsolete with such a capability.
Use the ICBM money to finish the rail tunnel from the White House to Camp David.
The Tax Foundation used both "static" and "dynamic" models of how Rubio's plan would affect after-tax income. The "dynamic" model, shown in blue, includes predictions about how the tax plan would affect the economy as a whole; the "static" model, shown in red, assumes the plan would have no effect on the economy.
Static scoring is valid only in a world that has 100% income tax rates and nobody stops going to work.

I'm reading through my Dad's letters from Okinawa. I know the stories, but to read his letters is gripping.

That is awesome. Both your Mom's birthday and your Dad's letters. Would love to hear some excerpts from Okinawa. if you cared to share with us. I'm sure many others feel the same way. After my old man died, we dug out some of his old WWII letters. He was not a letter writer- he was a dropout and delinquent. We were passing around this letter he wrote from Fort Devens, talking about basic training, the great chow, how swell the Army was and how they took care of everything. A p.s. at the end asked his Father if he would "send me a fin". My brother-in-law takes one look at the letter and he says: "You're dad didn't write that letter. Look at it- it's professionally formatted, perfectly typed, no spelling errors- You're dad could barely write his name! I bet the Army sent this exact same letter to the family of every guy in the company." I think he was right.
The moderators' questions struck me as showing how old-fashioned the MSM's economic theories are, and so far to the left of those governing the world's leading Communist nation.

Complete agreement. I hope Elizabeth Warren was taking notes because Warren's never been so succinct when it comes to Wall Street.
@MadAsHell -- I agree with everyone else about your Dad's Okinawa letters. I read through my great-great-grandfather's Civil War letters and they were riveting. Doing so for someone you actually met must be doubly so.
How many times can you remember Schumer or Durbin having anything to say on behalf of the Senate in the last couple of years? Steny Hoyer or anyone else on behalf of the House?
DC will not be "un-broken" until the Democratic Party decides to allow some degree of democracy within its own ranks.
Love where you're going, but an unmanned hypersonic strategic bomber is still way too many years away for us to ignore the contemporary challenges to the ICBM program. This is- unfortunately- one of those things that we're either going to have to do both, or continue to accept increasing risk in the short-term (which is an option).
The Republican "clowncar," whatever you think about these people as presidential candidates, almost all look very possible as department secretaries or agency heads.
"I thought Ms. Fiorina's comments concerning the linkage of increasing size of government to consolidation of large companies and how this leads to increasing crony capitalism and the "crushing" of the small businesses. When you look around, it is oh so true!"
Of course! But, does Ms. Fiorina, an actor within and beneficiary of this crony capitalism of which she speaks, purport to oppose it, to plan, if president, to dismantle or declaw it, and to nourish small businesses?
If she said anything to suggest this, she's lying.
"Huh??? Elizabeth Warren doesn't believe in smaller government."
Neither do any of the candidates, including the Republicans. If you believe otherwise, you have been successfully conned. "Smaller government" is just code for "more money for the bankers, big corporations, the Pentagon, and Wall Street...less money for you."

Choose wisely, foolish one-issue voters.
If you wish to retain the American way for your children, you need to be cognizant of what unlimited immigration can do. Look at what is happening in Europe right now. Amnesty again will continue the "sneak in if you can and you'll never have to leave" message. If you want your kids to have a second rate country, ignore immigration. MM, you and I are young enough that we may be alive when California becomes a Mexican property again. Yes, that could happen.
Huh??? Elizabeth Warren doesn't believe in smaller government.
My point was Fiorino described the problem far better than Warren ever has.
I agree that Then Fiorino went into the non-Warrenish waters of (correctly) pointing out that Govt created the problem and now Govt (Warren) wants to solve the problem.
Maybe. But you probably wouldn't like how he would shrink government...he'd bring home our troops and probably downsize the military as a major part of shrinking "government."
"I agree that Then Fiorino went into the non-Warrenish waters of (correctly) pointing out that Govt created the problem and now Govt (Warren) wants to solve the problem."
"Government," which the kooks consider, by definition, to be unworkable and an enemy, is the way civilized societies accomplish their agreed upon goals, including solving problems. The problem is not qovernment qua government, but bad government: government that is controlled by a tiny elite of the wealthy and powerful who turn the vast power and riches of government--the people's riches--to serving themselves; government that is unresponsive to and contemptuous of we, the people.
When not held hostage by such a tiny band of parasites, "the government" is simply the people, working collectively to manage and run their own affairs.
The people you (presumably) want to support serve the people who control government and who have contempt for the people. You will not get what you want from these people.

I consider myself a two-issue voter: foreign policy and immigration. Why oh why don't I have a candidate?!?!?!?

Congrats to Wisconsin's Paul Ryan.
Rubio was on Hannity yesterday. Sean asked him about immigration.
Blah blah blah .... secure ... border ... blah blah blah
Blah blah blah ... work permits ... blah blah blah
Blah blah blah ... apply ... blah blah .. citizenship.
Short answer: comprehensive bullshit including amnesty.
Rubio = Amnesty.
Rubio is the amnesty Republican candidate. If you think that's a good idea, he's your guy.

Another thing after seeing the "debates."

The Democrat line-up?
"Complete agreement. I hope Elizabeth Warren was taking notes because Warren's never been so succinct when it comes to Wall Street."

These charades are just another form of "reality" tv...which is to say, not real, and not representative of anything other than itself: a spectacle to divert our attention for the moment. When this spectacle is over, another will be devised to distract us.
