"As October 21, 2015, a.k.a. Back to the Future Day, nears, the film franchise is enjoying a nice, topical comeback."

"So much so that Toyota put together this cute teaser of the saga's two heroes, Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox, assessing how accurate the movies were...."

My printer/copier at home can also be used as a fax, if I ever hooked it up to a phone line. But, why would I? That said, some people do still fax. Realtors for, instance, still fax, but they are trying to get away from it.

Also, if hover boards existed as shown in the movie (able to partially negate gravity using a power pack that fits in something the size of a skateboard) then the future would be very different than what is shown, because that is "Star Trek end of scarcity, unlimited energy, easy space travel tech right there."

Ron, that was implied at end of #1 with flying DeLorean powered by feeding garbage to Mr. Fusion instead of stealing plutonium from the Libyans.

Has all the Solyndra/Solar City BS has distracted us from developing the Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor? Perhaps Ron Popeil's heart just wasn't in it anymore...

@Nichevo

I had forgotten about that. Been many, many years since I have seen those movies.

Didn't the movie indicate the Cubs would win the World Series this year? Chicago is playing for the NL pennant.

I wonder how many people put a few dollars on the Cubs because of the movie at the beginning of the season?

I'm rooting for them.

I watched I and II last weekend. Funny how many things about October 2015 were wrong. Completely missed the computer revolution. No cell phones, let alone smart phones. On the other hand, they did have televisions that showed more than one channel at a time.
The clothing was electric- would adjust to your size automatically. And shoes tied electrically. Here we still use Velcro or shoestrings.
No flying cars yet, either.
The corrupted 1985 was closer to the real 2015 than the future 2015 was.

Blade Runner Day will be sometime in November 2019. So some sex robot manufacturer is likely to be all over that. Maybe even get Daryl Hannah to be the spokesperson.

Oh, and even with Parkinson's, Michael J. Fox looks better in the real 2015 than in fictional 2015.

"Back to the Future": Marty travels back from 1985 to 1955.

Brown: "Who's the President of the United States in 1985?"
Marty: "Ronald Reagan."
Brown: "The ACTOR???"

"Back to the Future: 2035": Marty travels forward in time from 2015 to 2035.

Marty: "Who's the President of the United States in 2035?"
Brown III: "Angelina Jolie."
Marty: "The ACTRESS???"

I used to really enjoy Michael J Fox movies.

Then he decided to make commercials and say Republicans were evil for banning embryonic stem cells from scientific use (even though it was federal funds) and that he could be cured if Republicans weren't so evil.

that was sad.

Parkinson's is a horrible disease and Michael's treatment hasn't made it any less awful.

That was kind of dumb.
