"The one good thing to come out of DeflateGate? This killer navy suit."

"After Tom Brady's four-game suspension was nullified by a federal judge earlier today, the man took a victory lap in his finest outfit. Here's a play-by-play..."

"...it was a good call to keep things simple with a white button-up."

As opposed to what, a t-shirt?

Men are just accessories, much like a purse or a pair of shoes. Tom Brady gets that privilege for the biggest super model on the planet. He's a trophy husband (not that there is anything wrong with that). He'd better dress well, if he wants to keep that gig.

What will Brady wear when he loses on appeal and has to sit out the 4 games later in the season or next year?

Titus said...

I noticed the suit yesterday-flawless.

New England has the most fab qb-natch.

khesanh0802 said...

@Achilles Never happen. Sorry to disappoint you but Goodell and his "Harvard Trained Lawyers" made way too many mistakes for Judge Goodman's decision to be overturned. The time frame is well into 2016 if Goodell persists.

I will not be surprised if the NFL comes to their senses and withdraws the appeal either before or after Goodell is fired.

Great blue and the peak lapels give it a good zip. The "white button up" description is absurd. All dress shirts button up.

Doug said...

Not navy. Sorry.

MacMacConnell said...

Esquire lost their fashion sense many decades ago. As Doug points out they are colorblind also. "lightweight knit tie", try silk knit. Too bad Brady's shirt collar isn't as crisp as his pocket square.

Judge Berman: Do you have any evidence at all of a conspiracy to deflate footballs?
NFL attorney Nash: ...No.

LOL! Suck it chumps! Ding-Dong the witch hunt is dead. NFL owners are meeting to discuss new policy procedures concerning rules and discipline. Wrong Way Roger is on the way out the door.

They say that The clothes make the man, but this time the man is also making the clothes.

Brady has a massive victory is sweet aura all over him, and that is the ultimate man and clothes maker.

Warning: this is a trial lawyers skill done on a closed course. Do not attempt it yourself at home.

The Brady body is in start of the season shape. That has a lot to do with why the suit looks great.

Balfegor said...

The best part about Brady's suit—beyond the ultra well-tailored jacket and pick-stitched lapel—is the color.

Pick-stitching isn't at all uncommon as far as I can tell -- they have machines that can do it now, after all. I wonder whether the writer meant the peak lapels, which are unusual with a single breasted jacket. What I think he deserves the most praise for is not having those ridiculously narrow lapels that are still so common these days. A man with shoulders like his needs lapels big enough to balance out some of that space to the shoulders.

Everything about the NFL is tailored to offense. Everything.

Why the NFL decided to lie about everything is insane. The only possible reason, that shithead Goodell figured it would be a nice storyline for the off season.

To the commenters raging that Brady cheated- Who deflated the Colts' footballs? Did Brady do that too? How come there was no investigation into why the Colts balls were under the limit? Why wasn't Indianapolis sanctioned for violating the same rule as New England?

traditionalguy said...

He must be a good man. He is a friend of President Trump who vouches for his honesty. That makes Goodell a weak Commissioner with low energy polling under 2 who is about to be fired. That's the Trump factor being reflected onto Tom The Honest Man Brady.

If New England wins the Super Bowl under Brady again then he will have a ring for each of his five fingers. Is that bombastic enough.

Brady cheated. The Patriots have been cheating for years. The issue with his phone and his texts is damming enough. But aside from that, you don't have to argue about the Ideal Gas law. Just look at the statistics. Google Smart Football Analysis. The fumble stats alone show that New England has an almost phenomenal lack of turnovers.

I have to admit when I saw that photo my first thought was what a nice suit it was.

Michael Fitzgerald said...

Paul Jacobson, the "Patriots don't fumble" meme was debunked by Deadspin almost as soon as it came out. The issue with his phone and texts- What issue, that a celebrity got a new phone? I know how suspicious that seems- after all, who doesn't still have their old phones? Maybe you mean the fact that Brady got a new phone long after he was told that the phone he had wasn't wanted for the investigation. Yeah, how suspicious is that? He was told that they didn't want the phone, then when he got a new one, the same people suddenly said "Aha! You DESTROYED your phone". And the texts! The texts that Brady gave the investigation. The texts going back a year which showed, as NFL attorney Nash admitted showed No Evidence of a conspiracy to deflate footballs- Yes, how damning is that? Clearly, when the opposing lawyer is forced by the judge to admit that there is no evidence of wrongdoing, that simply proves that there lS evidence of wrongdoing!
As far as the long history of cheating, go ahead and list some instances. I'll help by starting with CameraPlacementGate, a kerfuffle over the area where a team is allowed to film the opponents from, and which occurred during the first minutes of the first game of the season 8 years ago, and for which New England was hit with the most severe sanctions in league history, until the Deflation witch hunt that is, when the bitter ex-Jets who run the league office, like Goodell, Kensil, and Vincent, thought they had their chance to get New England again. Now your turn, go ahead and list all those times New England cheated.

@Michael Fitzgerald Go Mike! I am happy to see someone else get as pissed at the know-nothing "haters" as I do!

Michael Fitzgerald said...

Thanks, Khesanh- Isn't it like arguing with mental patients? Oblivious to facts and reason, filled with frothing rage, most of them have not read the debunked Wells report, Goodell's deceitful appeal statements, or the judge's statement on overturning the league's ruling. They scream Cheaters! but can't give any examples except "Spygate". Being a New England fan is like being a republican in a room full of drunk democrat party members.

Thank you for stating the point plain:

How about, instead of validating his analogy with some snide insults, you actually address the topic and refute the argument? You know, the one that says there was no cheating, no evidence of cheating or a conspiracy to cheat, and no history of the team cheating. I'd love for just one person to at least try to support Goodell and the NFL with a reasoned fact-based argument. Somehow I don't think you're capable of it, and I don't think you'll even try. If you even respond it will be something like: "Belicheat!... Shady Brady!!! ...Spygate!... Cheatriots!!!... History of cheating!!!...Asterisks****!!!!...Cheaters!!!!!!!

JAORE said...

I think this is the most overblown controversy I can recall. And I'm no NE fan. (Go Chiefs, ).

As to the phone: Those anti-Patriots scream this to the moon as if it were proof he cheated. Yet the NFL, by their own information said they did not need the phone.*

But, were the ball handler's phones not looked at? Was not the phone of the equipment manager not looked at? And was ANY phone not reviewed whose owner could not fall into the chain of individuals that would have the opportunity to deflate the balls?

Evidence = zero.

@average joe and Jaore Good to see the Pats' fans who have done their homework on the NFL witch hunt show up. Keep pounding the "haters"! I thought Michael Fitzpatrick's comment about investigating the Colts' under-inflated balls was a good one. Never even crossed my mind, but it's a revealing point.
