"We’d be like, ‘What?’ We all know what that means, but he took it as cotton fields, and therefore we’re all racists. This guy was a nightmare... Management’s worst nightmare."

The guy finds racism under every rock, on every street corner, in every office, and on every menu. Every where you look, there is racism.
Scratching my head as to where he is getting his cues.
Sounds like a Woody Allen movie. If only it had been.
It's pretty obvious to me that if you say field to a black person, you mean cotton fields. I mean, c'mon, we all know what that means.
It's just like if you're speaking to a woman (Or about a woman) and you say she is so angry she is bleeding from her eyes or wherever, you're clearly talking about her period. We all know that. Right?
I'll add....
It doesn't matter what is meant by the speaker. What matters is what is heard by the listener. If I say, "You're pretty." and you hear, "Bend over" then clearly that's attempted rape, just as an example.
Fostering an aggrieved sense of victimhood in Black folks makes them less desirable as employees. Which makes them more likely to be unemployed. Which makes them more dependent on government.
White liberals don't miss a trick.
A fuse, looking for a match....which he eventually found.
No one's said much about what the murderer was doing in the two years since he was fired. If he was unemployed and socially isolated and just stewing over all the real or imagined slights anyone ever did to him then I suppose it's not so strange that he deteriorated mentally.
Or perhaps he had a job and a social life, no one's saying, but the two year interval between the firing and the murders does need some more explaining (beyond the obvious, that it was an unjustified and evil act).
Another mentally ill person. Sure would be nice if we could identify them and do something about it.
He sounds like a psycho version of Perd Hapley from Parks And Recreation. In that show, Perd is a local TV reporter who is utterly pleasant but is simpleminded.
Simpleminded + angry is a dangerous mix.
Every place I have worked (including the USMC) meant outside of the office when they used the word "field".
Is there better proof than this nut that "microaggressions" are complete made up bullshit?
Flanagan assumed everything was a jab at his race,
And this differs from mainstream racialist doctrine how?
It can be a long work day when you have to work with someone like that. I know.
We received 8 sick days a year, but when you reached 5 sick days you were called into the office and had to explain what was going on with you calling in sick so often.
We got paid every other Thursday, and H****, the black guy I worked with had a tendency to take off the Friday after pay day. We used to joke: "well, tomorrow we'll be working short-handed" after pay day.
When we got our first female boss, H**** ran up 12 sick days in 7 months. I supposed he figured that she wouldn't say anything to him, and after 8 sicks days he looked like he was right.
She finally called him into the office, and the first thing he did was cry racism, and went immediately to HR for help where there were blacks wearing suits. They must have told him to not take so much sick time off, because in the next 5 months, he only missed 3 more days.
After I left they eventually fired him for either failing, or refusing a drug test. I wouldn't doubt that he sued and they settled with him. When Tiger Woods wouldn't win a golf tournament, he wouldn't quit talking all day long about how he was cheated out of the win because he was black. There was no reasoning with him about any charge of racism that he made.
They were niggardly in their praise.
They were niggardly in their praise.
No chip on that shoulder, nosiree.
Science fiction novelist Michael Z. Williamson has been banned on Facebook over a dozen times for using words such as chigger, niggardly, nip (a small amount, a pinch), faggot (a bundle of sticks) and chink (narrow opening, crack), even when he includes the definition along with the so-called "offensive" word.
My very favorite part of the Obama era is all the racial healing.
Everywhere but in the field, right? The innuendo is unmistakeable.
Remember when serious people said John McCain having Paris Hilton and some other blonde on an ad mocking Barack Obama was racist, because it fed the idea that black men rape white women?
I do.
Sounds like the killer was hung up on himself and enslaved by his own fantasies.
I saw an article saying he claimed 7-Eleven was racist because they carried watermelon flavored Slurpees.
All those statements were clearly racist, including "an" and "the". You can't deny a person of color their experience of the racist white power structure, just because no one meant it racist. Intention is irrelevant, this is the basis of microaggressions, which underly so much of our society. I mean, microaggressions even make people fat! Is there anything they can't do? I think it's time all you white devils check your privilege and accept that those two racist jackwagons deserved to get shot for disrespecting a proud black man. "In the field" indeed. Just horrendous.
I suppose there's no room for suggesting the guy was deranged?
The Daily Mail website has pictures from his apartment. All the pictures on the wall, and even the refrigerator art.......were him.
Yeah, all those soldiers eating "field rations" over the years were actually referring to what cotton-pickers were eating.
fffftttt
I think you forgot the "assholes" tag.
OK, so if the Charleston shooting indicates some level of collective guilt of Southern culture, does this shooting indicate some level of collective guilt of the culture of microaggressions and hypersensitivity? If not, why not? I'm honestly asking here.
"I suppose there's no room for suggesting the guy was deranged?

Of course there is. That was exactly his problem.

And thanks to the stupidity that passes for a college education today, this mindset is guaranteed to be coming to your workplace soon.
There are people in the work force, grown up on left wing agitation that disrupt the work environment with their claptrap. In feminism they're known as social justice warriors. They are toxic to any environment. Thank the left for this brand of busy body that makes work unbearable. If you have such people in your environment and management isn't keeping them in check, quit your job.
This guy flogged two special interests. Race and gayness. Both of which, in the wrong hands would make the average person want to kill themselve.
This guy was also a whacko. But, let's assume he wasn't, and was just a whole. This is the face of the left. Everything is filtered through race, and sex. And therefore at every turn, there are charges of racism, and sexism. Does the left not see how they poison all environments?
This is why people who are for women's rights say they are not feminists. Part of it is that feminists are not consistent. But the greater part is that feminists (doctrinaire feminists) are some of the most unpleasant people to be around.
Everybody has to understand their environment. There are people everywhere today who are looking for a reason to go to HR, cry "racism", "sexism" or "anti-gay" in order to collect a settlement. You have to be able to steer around these people - they are a bit more than a whining bunch of cry-babies. They are after money and HR knows it. So as soon as disputes begin HR wants a perfect paper trail. They won't say to you, "Omigod, a settlement hunter!" because you would repeat it and then the company/university would lose the case. So you have to mouth correct slogans for HR and and endure while the paper trail builds. That's part of life these days.
The good thing is that you learn how to manage these situations when you learn how to manage your liberal teachers in grade school. The bad thing is that ever more of true popular culture is taken up with how to lie to the liberals infesting life at all levels. It's like being in Poland under the Russians in 1970 and pretending you believe their pretenses.

"Our [African] employees were so adamant to show me the truth that they pooled their money so they could take me to the local witch doctor, who would turn me into a frog.
… A colleague pointed out a few weeks ago, after hearing this story, that if it is nearly pan-African then perhaps some of it came to the New World. Prominent and not so prominent talkers from the American Black population come out with similar theories of vague and invisible forces that are oppressing people, like ‘institutional racism’ and ‘white privilege’.”
Remember when Mitch McConnell said Obama must want to be on the PGA tour because he golfs so much? Lawrence O'Donnell of MSNBC turned that into Obama = Tiger Woods = stereotype of sexual proclivities of black males = racist dog whistle.
Head-spinning! Where do lefties come up with this stuff?

Isn't flanagan like labrie? in the sense they didn't take personal responsibility for their shortcomings, yes.

If you weren't still posting, I would have figured that was you, because you fit the same Grievance Collector profile.
Black Olives Matter, on salads and pizza. "That's racist!!" Yes, I meant it that way. /sarc off/
Everyone is entitled to his own narrative. Right?
